“Disgusting service and extremely poor quality fabrics”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hargy1970 on 09/02/2024

We purchased a 3 seater sofa from the Raleigh range - note the colour we ordered was charcoal… the arm collapsed on the sofa and was subsequently replaced, we then decided to order the 2 seater version to arrive with the replaced 3 seater as we loved the colour and style. 2 seater collapsed underneath, this was fixed by a technician who screwed in some wood screws to hold in place, not much confidence this won’t go again… Further to the shoddy frames, the colour has now turned reddish purple? Sofology have advised this is sun damage? How the sun can get on the back of sofa I’m not sure but that’s what they are sticking to, they said this material fades really quickly in the sunlight, however I’m talking the last 6 months we have had the sofas in situ and we have no direct sunlight on the furniture ? The sofas look at least 10 years old…. Currently with the furniture ombudsman. Disgusting for a 6 month old suite! I would never ever purchase anything from this company again! No description in website about the quality of the fabrics

“DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Field61123 on 08/11/2023

Purchased a corner recliner sofa from Dundee store.. nice salesman. It arrived a week later than anticipated. Sofa material looks as if there are stains all over it.. was told by the drivers who delivered the suite it’s just the look of the material. Paid over £3000. They put it together and whilst it was turned upside down on my living room I noticed how cheaply made it was.. but of wood here and there.. and the undercloth was ripped. When you buy from a furniture store you don’t look underneath at how it’s made because in this case you wouldn’t buy from Sofology. I was shocked! I have now read all the other negative reviews that I should have read prior to buying from this company. The sofa I received is a fabric sofa and the drivers brought the cleaning kit and in the front of the box it says in large letters “ LEATHER CARE CLEANING KIT” and when I queried it and told them that’s not the correct care kit they said “well, that’s what we were given and all we have.” I called customer service, who was not helpful at all. I feel that They have been well trained to make sure that the company comes first and not the customer! The underclothes is just stapled on and it’s not even. Staples sticking out everywhere. Not worth the money! My advice to anyone reading this is.. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE AND READ REVIEWS AND ALSO REQUEST TO SEE UNDERNEATH !

“FAB SOFA - AWFUL INFLEXIBLE DELIVERY SERVICE ”

★★★★☆

written by LaneFallon187 on 18/09/2023

I ordered a Bridgerton 4 seater sofa - all good, staff excellent. Was told 8 weeks to delivery - good I said as I'd be away for the whole of August. On 1st August a day before I went away for the month I was emailed to say my sofa was ready and I could choose my delivery date - most people would be pleased to have early delivery. Before I had a chance to choose I was allocated a date of 8th August - I tried to change online but was told to phone. when I phoned I discovered their delivery policy is totally inflexible. They said they could move a couple of days but no more. They have no room to store. I explained I was going to be away and was in a new property with nobody near to take delivery. They didn't care. So I said ok I'll have to cancel the sofa (I didn't mean it!!) and they said ok but you'll have to pay 40%. So of course I found someone at great inconvenient to them to be at my place to take the delivery. On the day of delivery - it was like a scene out of a comedy show. With the time of delivery constantly changing - me in France trying to liaise with the person who was kindly waiting - finally they said they were 5 minutes away - but then it was 35 minutes. They'd only typed in the road not the town and their GPS had taken them to a completely different town. However, I have to say I love the sofa!!!

“Customer service was perfect”

We have not received our order yet but Sai at the Peterborough branch was the perfect host. Helpful but not pushy. Knowledgeable but gave us the space we needed to make such a big purchase. Thank you Sai for your time and patience.

“Poor quality and horrible service ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Willies298 on 26/08/2023

We recently bought a grey leather sofa from Sofology. On arrival the colour was different from the swatch in the shop and the one we ordered online. The shoulder of the sofa was crinkled, the cushions do not line up. One of the arms was really imperfect. A cushion was not filled enough compared to the other one. My husband informed the driver he was not happy and he took photos, told him to contact customer service and swiftly left. We phoned customer service who appeared to be very sympathetic, they told us to put all our concerns in writing along with pictures to the email they would send us. Which we did. We heard nothing, so my husband rang again. They said they would send a technician to have a look.He arrived about 7:55 in a Saturday morning. He had a look trying to fix the obvious issues himself and went on and on about how the leather could have imperfections. My husband felt he was being very dismissive of our issues and the Technician left. We received a call on the Sunday informing him that it was felt there were no issues and as far as they were concerned the problem was resolved?????????. I would advise NEVER buy from this company. We bought from the Chester store. I have plenty of photos to prove what our issues are, which by changing an arm or a shoulder of the sofa this issue could of been resolved. We bought in good faith, only to be ripped off by this shocking company. The one star given was for the speed in delivery, on hindsight if we had of had it delivered on the due date maybe the sofa would of been better quality.

“Wrong item delivered 4 times ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KeeganRay471 on 29/06/2023

Wrong footstool delivered. Spent £3k ordering a sofa set and marching footstool in the choice of fabric I like. Sofa set was delivered in January, footstool incorrect fabric. Then began the debacle of trying to get the right footstool ordered. Redelivery has been arranged 4 times but the wrong item delivered every time. I’ve all but given up as customer service are useless. Only Offered £25 goodwill gesture but no resolution. How can you not have something you paid for and no way to have this rectified? Avoid this company at all cost!

“Unbelievable”

★☆☆☆☆

written by IanGardner2023 on 23/06/2023

Ordered and paid, 9 weeks in advance, for a sofa, recycle of an old sofa (£129) and delivery. Sofa was ready on time. Asked to sign in, online, and book delivery, which we did, however then SMS received asking to call and arrange delivery (online did not work!!). Called to arrange and confirm collection of the recycled unit. Sofa arrived, on the drive, however, no plan to remove the recycled unit; they advised this was another company and they cannot take it. So, they took it away again, advising that Sofology will call, but better for you to go to the store. We went, to be confronted by two employees, who advised "nothing we can do, no manager here" call customer services, but there closed now. We shouted and then were advised we will pass this to management and someone will call tomorrow morning. Surprise, surprise, no call. Spoke to customer services and now re-arranged delivery, but will have to put the recycled unit in the garden, until they can arrange collection; they've only had 9 weeks!! Dreadful, would advise caution with this company, as customer services and there organisational skills take a lot to be desired!!

“Cheap Product - Cheap Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Paulgg14 on 08/04/2023

WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My blood boils just thinking about the atrocity that is the leather recliner Sofa from Sofology. My wife and I were fooled by their flashy advertising and the promise of a 20 year guarantee, so we decided to shell out a whopping £2500 of our hard-earned savings on this monstrosity. It took months to arrive and when it finally did, we were initially thrilled. But that feeling soon evaporated as the seats began separating on their own, which was annoying but tolerable. But things went from bad to worse when, just two years later, the recliner's bottom stopped working and the metal bracket simply snapped. Of course, we thought, thank goodness for that 20 year guarantee - surely this must be covered, right? Wrong. When we contacted Sofology and sent them pictures of the broken metal recliner frame, we were informed that the guarantee only covers structural issues. What a load of rubbish! What do they call it when the metal framework snaps? Apparently, that's only covered under their measly 2 year guarantee - which had already run out. Can you believe this?! Two guarantees - one that they promote but won't honour, and another that only lasts for two years. It's a complete joke, and typical of cheap, shoddy manufacturers who care nothing for their customers. We paid a small fortune for a sofa that only lasted two years - what a sham! Sofology have tricked us, and to make matters worse, their customer service is non-existent. They're peddling falsies with their so-called 20 year structural guarantee, which they won't pay out on when a structural problem actually arises. Save yourself the heartache and avoid shopping at Sofology at all costs. If you want quality, look elsewhere - because you certainly won't find it here.

“No quality of service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by TrystanErickson on 05/04/2023

While you can't fault the quality of their sofas, their handling of customer orders and service is another thing. After several delays, including then calling us to ask what we were expecting to be delivered (they had a footstool instead of a sofa for us!) we were expecting delivery today, but once again a no show. So far I've been blamed for not being in for the delivery and then blamed for misunderstanding that there was ever supposed to be a delivery, even though I kept receiving tracking messages about being 4th delivery of the day. Still waiting to be contacted to find out if my sofa actually exists ..... if anyone reading is interested. Update.... Apparently the sofa doesn't exist! They looking for a replacement that may take several weeks to deliver.... Bravo Sofology

“Shocking Customer Service, and overall experience...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Darrenroger on 04/04/2023

I can only advise how best I see fit, being in sales and customer service myself. I have spent over £2k on a sofa with this appalling company and have been deceived miserably. After giving necessary measures to sales rep and arranging sofa to be delivered they took 14 weeks and then sent the wrong sofa.when we complained and finally got the right one it didn't fit in our door, despite sending photos and measurements. They would not answer calls or deal with our predicament, even though I had a 80 year old lady sitting on dining room chair and a pregnant lady on the floor. They proceeded to offer us alternative as long as we paid an extra 40% on top of the £2k to change our order, which was no fault of our own... no senior management to deal with, just school leavers who were extremely rude and constantly putting phone down, and each time takes about 30 minutes to get hold off.... PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING ORGANISATION I WOULD SOONER SIT ON THE FLOOR AND HAVE THE PLEASURE OF DEALING WITH THESE AGAIN.... I am now in the process of seeking legal advise. Again, time effort and money. Please seek alternative Company.... I can imagine people less fortunate whk can not have a voice and air the concerns just being sham and having people shout and be rude to them while hitting additional sales targets... I will not stop until they cease trading in the UK..... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....

“Poor quality, worn out after 2.5 years”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Area_Bass on 26/02/2023

Spent almost £2700 with Sofology and sofas delivered July 2020. In February 2021 the top layer of leather on the seats of one sofa had rubbed away. Sofology dealt with this well. Technician agreed the leather to be faulty and the sofa had to be reupholstered. We have just noticed similar and significant damage on the other sofa, on the area where my husband's shoulders rest. Both sofas have the same batch number. As we are 7 months out of the warranty period Sofology now accept no responsibility for the damage. We are a retired couple who look after our belongings, and this has been maintained with quality leather cleaner and protection cream. Now seen reviews of numerous of other customers stating how disappointed they are with their sofas. AVOID!!

“Terrible quality sofa filling and company service ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Martinhf on 31/01/2023

Bought an expensive leather sofa and within the warranty period it is sagging/flattened in the centre. We have tried contacting Sofology, and despite on the phone initially agreeing that the flattening was unacceptable (based on photos we sent), they now are dragging this out and being evasive. We keep getting told that we need to go through a maintenance routine EVERY DAY to maintain the sofa and avoid flattening. We had been trying the “plumping” actions they recommend previously but without improvement. However they keep saying we should keep trying this. Totally unacceptable service and warranty support.

“Failed delivery”

★★☆☆☆

written by JazmynOwens on 16/01/2023

Delivery arranged for Saturday 14th, never turned up and no word from Sofology or their driver as to why we were left in limbo. Their customer service could not get through to their delivery company for reason why so advised she had sent them and email, BUT advised it would be at least 48 hours before another date/time could be arranged. In the meantime we have no lounge furniture, their recycle partner did at least what they were supposed to do, and collected our old one as arranged and on the date arranged, Friday. Now Monday 07;00 still no word from Sofology. Oh and on Saturday we got no word from them or the driver to say they had cancelled the delivery or reason why they could not get there on that day arranged, we were left in limbo.

“Worst service ever ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Misswoodss on 31/12/2022

Honestly the worst service we’ve ever received. Firstly we ordered our sofa back in September when we bought our house and it was said it would be ready for the end of November which was fine. The day we were meant to receive our sofa we received a call to say we actually wouldn’t receive the sofa and that we were looking at a 6-8 week delay because there was no foam for the inside of the sofa. So we had no sofa for Christmas and couldn’t move into our house. Then we were told they have our sofa in at the end of December and we scheduled a delivery for New Year’s Eve. . When we sorted the finance we had to use our current address details but the lady made a note to deliver our sofa to our new address. New Year’s Eve comes and they send the sofa to our current address which is obviously no good to us and refuse to take it to our new address which is 5 mins around the corner. I call the shop an the manager tells me there’s nothing she can do until next week and the best she can do is give me a call. It’s honestly the worst service I’ve ever received and i wish we could go back and order the sofa with somebody else. The manager an the guy I spoke with on the phone were nice enough but this didn’t help my situation as I am still couch-less. The delivery driver wasn’t helpful though.

“Disrespectful delivery team!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by pxO'Grady19 on 25/12/2022

Purchased a sofa from Sofology in the beginning of October, was told it would be delivered in mid-November. By November then received a call saying it's been delayed to December. Finally received a call in December that my sofa has arrived and is ready for delivery. On the delivery date, 2 people showed up, I politely asked them if they can take off their shoes, they said no they are not allowed, which I understand for safety reason, so I asked if they can please wear the blue shoes covers, they said no they are "not allowed". I then asked them if they have something to cover my floor which has cream colour carpet, they said no they don't carry anything like that, and I should be the one who prepared the cover. I then offered them the clear film cover which movers used, they then suggested to me the best way is to wait for the next day when they have more drivers who will bring the covering for my floor. I asked multiple times "are yousure the sofa will be delivered the next day?", he promised me it definitely will be delivered the next day. Then they left. I then called the customer service and the person on the phone has informed me that the delivery person should not have promised that as they have no access to the delivery system and it was impossible to have the sofa delivered the next day. And since the sofa will need to return to the warehouse and be scanned again in order to arrange for the delivery, the customer service has asked me to wait for a day in order for the system to be updated and someone will call me the next day. The next day by noon there was still no update so I phoned the customer service again. Took me over 30min to get someone online, the customer service then checked the system and said it still not been updated in the system. And that he will phone and warehouse to check the status. He phoned me back and explained that the system is still not updated with my sofa being in the queue for delivery, so I'll need to wait. And promised to call me back as soon as system is updated. I said that's fine... unfortunately then by end of yesterday I still have no updated and no phone call. It's been 4 days since my sofa was returned back to the depo yet it still has not been scanned back into the system. Endless phone calls and still no update on the delivery. According to the warehouse manager, he has spoken to the delivery guy and the delivery guy said he never said the sofa would be delivered the next day! Not only didn't he tell the truth but now he has turned around and called me a liar! There were people working in my house that day and everyone heard the whole conversation with the delivery guy. Every time I spoke to the customer service team, they all were being very sympathetic and very helpful, however, they also have to rely on the system in order to make delivery arrangements/updates, and rely on the warehouse to give an update as well. I have also sent 3 enquires/complaints on Sofology website already still has no reply. It's been a very unpleasant and horrible experience with Sofology - sofa was 6 weeks delayed than was originally scheduled, which I had waited patiently, the delivery team was not able to show any respect to the customer's property and tried to bully me into letting them walking into my house with their muddy wet boots on my carpet, was not prepared to cover their shoes or put any cover on my carpet, didn't tell the truth about the sofa will be delivered the next day, then turned around and call me not being truthful. Thanks to Sofoloy, now we have to spend Christmas all sitting on the floor. I would never again purchase anything from Sofology and will never recommend anyone to purchase from Sofoloy.

“Keep well away”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Icom7100 on 24/12/2022

We went there shop in speke liverpool ordered 2 right handed corner couches 1 designer stool 1 chair and 2 care kits, they promised it all before Christmas 2 blokes arrived stating they did not work for Sofology but worked for DFS. they brought one right handed in and could not put it together and left a plastic piece under it to prop it up, they then brought the other sofa in which turned out to be left handed one and tried to leave it here, the footstool was not on the van nor the care kits. We have people over for Christmas with nowhere to sit as we got rid of old sofas. They had no idea what to say to me then they tried to drive off leaving all the rubbish in the house. Also they have no customer service whatsoever never ring back. This is what you get after spending just on £5000. Use them at your peril.

“You buy something worth over £3,000.00 and they will...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JaxThomas on 31/07/2022

You buy something worth over £3,000.00 and they will send you what THEY want. Not what you order. I ordered a sofa set in 2021, and I still do not have the right set. Sent in a formal written complaint, and as expected, nothing has been done about it. They will never get back to you, you have to chase them for an update, and 100% of the time there is no update. I have reported them to trading standards as they have not offered me my money back nor given me what I ordered. Customer service is useless, they're lovely and friendly, but competency does not exist.

The main issue as I understand the law is how long have you had the Sofa. The Consumer Rights Act 2025 states you are entitled to a refund if goods are even slightly faulty. Is there any problem with the original setee and was this notified within a month. You can sue quite easily through the small claims court and you can do this without a solicitor on line. Howeaver if you've bought a sofa and it's ok but just looking to add to it and it's discontinued thst may be insufficient grounds to bring them to book. There is one thing most customers know on.this site, Sofology are unsympathetic and appear to push the boundary of the law and the best advice is just avoid them in the first place. After my disaster with them I got a much better deal and did not have to pay for the goods until delivered.. This was through a long established independent in Doncaster. Good luck I hope the above helps

Hi some will depend upon how long you have had the sofa and how you paid for it. If it's not that old but that particular style had been on sale for a long time then the sales person should have made you aware of that. If you paid by credit card you could ring them and explain see if they can help,if you paid by interest free credit then you can ring them and tell them you wish to make a formal complaint against sofa works But first thing is to raise a complaint with head office.it took a few months a lot of phone calls and emails but be strong and persistent Hope this helps

I was asked to give a pin in store when purchasing my sofas. Seems quite odd now being that I had to set up a new one online without being asked for email address or any other data it automatically knew what I purchased. What is the pin for?Because in all the rush for my deposit he told me everything bar what my pin was for, it's not on credit! I'm paying cash! Why the pin in store?

Hi Everyone, just wanted to ask who do I speak to if my 5 month old new sofa is sagging terribly? We are a family of 3 adults yet our 3 seater is looking like we've had this for years! Funny enough the 2 seater is fine! We are not particularly heavy or large people and we are at work most of the time so we were not expecting this to happen so quickly! The service from Sofaworks has been 2nd to none but we are hugely disappointed.

First you have to speak to the manager of the store you bought it from but good luck with receiving any help from this company after the friendly manager assures you . I gave this company 3 chances to make my sofa in the colour I chose, I was very patient but had enough when I found out on the 3rd attempt it took them 2.5 weeks to even bother putting the 3rd order through putting me to the back of the queue to wait weeks again. No calls to apologise, no attempts to communicate back with me ever. Trying to get a refund when finally cancelling is still ongoing, they just pretend you don't exist but we have sent them a copy of the court papers to be issued now to put a rocket up their asses. They should be ashamed of themselves. I've not had bad service, I've had no service, they are a bunch of idiots and if you call them, they all tell you different as no one knows anything so can't believe a word they say. Bear this in mind and give them a date to sort this out from the start then go to the court and prepare your papers. Good luck

You should have read reviews before buying from them. They won't do anything in fact mostly you will be ignored. Sorry to tell you. Probably best to just get an independent person to look at it to cut the BS out. Their own people will deem it your fault if they do ever get back to you. Plenty of reviews about your situation on here already,

Take them to the small claims court - I had to do this when they were CSL. They will just fob you off. contact Trading Standards.

You need to start the papers for small claims court and email a copy so they see your ready to go and give your final date you want an answer. Only way they respond to you. I'm speaking from experience

Email the ceo of Sofology. He is as high as you can go. He will pass your complaint to a senior escalations manager. In our case it didn't work that we'll. What did was to issue small claims proceedings in the county court. It's easy you can apply online. There is a fee. Howeaver in our case it was a game changer when the claim form (summons ) landed on their door mat. They arranged to collect our settee and refunded us straight away. We got no ware up until that point. Gather evidence. Take photos. Write down dates, times and names of who you dealt with. In my experience it was the only language they understood.

Don't waste your time or money. They did my order wrong 3times, it was a nightmare . You need reliable people to ship abroad . Read all the reviews on problems after ordering, not the people saying the showroom people were nice. No after sales at all.

I want to take a legal action against Sofaworks for selling a sofa which could not be delivered through the door although I gave them the measurements of the door in the first place. I have the written proof as it was communicated through emails. They now want to deduct 30% of the money I paid and try to force me to spend the remaining 70% to buy another sofa from them. Did anybody take them to court and win a legal action against them?

You had better hope that Sofaworks does not deliver to Northern Ireland, this is the worst company you will ever deal with, run in the opposite direction.I hope you take this advice.

Hi Tracey,As far as Sofaworks is concerned, once you have complained to them, they then'deal' with your complaint, usually by sending a technician(who works for them),then they tell you that 'no fault found' Or you have caused the damage, they wash their hands of it.The technicians report is used against you if you go down the Ombudsman route(personally I would not bother, they find for Sofaworks),I speak from experience. I would advise you to have your own Independant report done, and go to County Court(Small Claims),to me,this is the only way.If I can help in any other way please let me know.I am willing to give you my Phone no or e-mail

Because no one cares, once you have paid then that's it. We have had a saggy sofa for the last 18 months

Like brain said they dont really care. Probably get so many complaints having a procedure or a formal way to complain would probably attract more! Im guessing that's why they changed their name from CFS , too many bad negative reviews on the internet. Thats what they were called when i reviewed them, my review complaint eventually went to head office where i was fobbed off. Having said all that my sofa is nice and i have no problems with it. Service was awful.

We've had our suade corner sofa since November 2012, since we've had it the cushions that come with it have been flat with hardly any stuffing in them, and one of the large back cushions has gone a little flat too. Despite all the large cushions being plumped up constantly by me or my partner. Also a friend has broken one of the arms on the sofa by leaning on it, it's cracked in the middle and now got a hole inside. There are numerous marks on the sofa & one of the legs is faulty which has been the case since the day it was delivered. We love the sofa & all of the cushions on the back and the bottom apart from that one cushion are perfect still. Except the marks. We did take out the sofa shield insurance so will they help? I really want our sofa looking as lovely as it used too. I love our sofa but this is making me dislike it a lot. Can anyone give any advice?
