“£300 Hotpoint and £60 warranty - Waste of time and...”

Purchased a Hotpoint washing machine in August 2013 - In May 2014 after less than average use it blew up. Luckily we were at home and able to switch off at the mains. Rang Hotpoint who sent an engineer 4 days later who was unable to fix due to a lack of parts. Told we would be contacted later that day to confirm situation. No contact was made. “Absolutely horrendous”

I was warned away from Currys but against all advice, I stupidly ordered a washing machine in store from Currys, thinking it would be ok. I needed it urgently and so I paid the extra to get it delivered between 7am and 11am the next day. When buying it I was hassled in a very pushy manner to buy the insurance incase the machine broke. “Apalling sales tactic”

I have just purchased an item from Currys in Manchester and will not be returning. The only reason I have given it one star is because the reservation system was efficient. At the pay point I was told about the option to extend the warranty which included accidental damage. Had a similar experience as you. I went into their Hedge end store and waited for about 15 minutes before speaking to a staff member who walked across the store to tell someone else I was waiting then walked all the way back to tell me he would be with me in a few minutes. I watched him do sod all apart from walk around so I I approached him and suggested he help me. He said " its not my job" so I said I would purchase elsewhere. He then said "the exits are this way sir" !!!!!

“Will never buy from currys again”

The worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Bought a condensing dryer which was faulty. Called currys who said I need to call the manufacturers. Engineer came to check machine and confirmed it was faulty currys still refused to exchange or refund with incompetent staff who could not and would not organise a collection of my item. Ordered a freezer from Currys on-line which was advertised at a discount price with the options of collecting in-store within an hour, or delivery within 28 days. To my disbelief it was refused by a new credit company they have started to use called Eclipse.
