progressive recruitment is the worst recruitment company that I have ever dealt with.
I was contacted by them asking me to give them an updated CV to apply for a contract that they where advertising. I submitted my CV and heard nothing for weeks despite numerous phone calls and emails. I wanted to know who the company that she has sent my CV to on my behalf. She would not tell me claiming that she had an agreement with the company not to disclose the company name. lets be clear, if a… Read Full Review

'Progressive is very pleasant party to work with. The do not only effectively act upon business-opportunities, but they also 'feel' the sense of urgency in occasions where we have worked together. By this Progressive has helped me adequately several times in situations, where time-pressure and required quality-standards has been high. By this approach I see the consultants more as a business partner, than only as supplier of resources and in my perception this is positive for the image (and… Read Full Review

These idiots sold my contact details to TheITJobBoard.com, without my permission, which fact I discovered only after I had been forced into making a complaint to the ICO about TheITJobBoard.com's subsequent persistent spamming by e-mail about jobs I wasn't interested in and surveys I was even less interested in. This agency advertises jobs that don't exist, purely to harvest CVs (which they then sell on in the manner described above), send you spam about roles that are not in your… Read Full Review

These guys are the worst they charge up to 25% commission rates and are completely inflexible when it comes to negotiation. They are unprofessional at best and are out to rip off the contractor at every turn. Avoid like the plague… Read Full Review

Like most companies the experience is based on the people that you engage with. The consultants that I have worked with have always been professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Throughout the recruitment process I felt supported and well informed. My only "dislike" is the amount of time paper work takes and amount of forms I had to fill out which is I suppose expected from a major recruitment firm… Read Full Review

As a seasoned Project Manager who has dealt with Recruitment Companies both as a client and as a candidate, I have to admit that I disagree with alot of the reviews posted.
Ive "engaged" a few "cowboy" recruitment companies in my time, who promise the world but rarely deliver - Progressive have never fallen into this category.
They always outline a process from the get-go and follow it until a placement is made - listening to what I want and reacting to it accordingly.
Even when not… Read Full Review

Professional service, they enabled me to secure 3 interviews with different clients then got me newest role as a web developer.
Compared to the majority of the recruitment market they are head and shoulders above!
I would not hesitate to recomend them to a friend or colleague - they get results!
Liked - Concise, to the point
Disliked - Not a lot
I would use them to recruit people in my new role as ultimately they get the job done!

Ive read some of these reviews and think they should be taking with a pinch of salt.
I've been an IT freelancer for several years and have worked with Progressive on 2 different freelance projects in the Netherlands. The agents I was dealing with that work for Progressive Amsterdam treated me fairly and took good care of me.
They helped me to arrange flights, picked me up from the airport to take me to the interview and even recommended a good priced hotel. Everything was explained in advance… Read Full Review

This company has a serious communication problem.
I applied for a job and they told me a week later it had long since gone, so I was passed to another agent for a similar job. When I finally got to speak to someone the following week (ignore the "He'll call you right back" as no-one will) I'm told the position had been filled the week before.
I've had emails from different members of staff asking the same questions, request for my CV to be sent again and so on. What's going on inside this… Read Full Review

People in Progressive are basically dishonest verging on criminal, they are disgusting individuals.
They dont pay, dont do correct administration.
Lazy arrogent rude.
They become the most important person in the three way realtionship in which all they do is obtain a CV.
They deliberately leave you with sense you will not get paid to gain power over you.
There should be no stars.

Utterly unprofessional timewasters. I had a problem with someone having sold my personal contact details to theitjobboard.com, resulting in large amounts of spam by email that wouldn't stop no matter how many times I complained or used their joke of an 'opt out' system. Upon eventually making a complaint to the ICO, it turned out to have been Progressive that had sold that disreputable website my personal contact details.
I can only advise contractors that wish to keep their spam levels to a… Read Full Review

Using Progessive currently and basically they were economical with the truth. Not at all flexible and the advise anyone to read the terms of the contract before signing as they really tie you down.
In my experiencing of contracting spanning a decade, I rate these the worst Recruitment Agency I have ever used, particulary in the way they try and tie you down and their late payments (28 days plus). … Read Full Review

Progressive Recruitment Specialists is the worst recruitment I have ever worked for. Took them 7 weeks to pay me after I started the contract. In that time I had missed payments on my account and racked up many charges. I was told they would look into this. 1 year later they are still looking into it and my pay continues to be late almost every week.I am around £700 out of pocket and they just dont care. Worst one is they have me locked into a contract that stipulates I cannot leave and work… Read Full Review

After looking to get into contracting I went online to find out other people's views on recruitment companies, so I would know who best to go through. I read some mixed reviews on Progressive Recruitment Specialists, so when they contacted me after I put my CV online I was a little dubious.
However the experience I have had with them ever since has been helpfully, pleasant, at times a little bumpy, but overall has made my move into contracting easy and enjoyable.

My first contract was lost and then 2nd contract was sent to wrong address.
Wouldn't pay my expenses for a trial day even when agreed through email.
My invoices were only paid after 28 days, not up to 28 as stated in contract event though the customer had paid on receipt of invoice from Progressive.
I never received return phone calls or emails unless it seemed in their favour
The problems always seemed to be the fault of someone else.
I will never use Progressive again or any of the S3… Read Full Review

After placement with Progressive Recruitment Specialists, I felt totally forgotten about and as though they were making money off my back. Payment terms appear to be stacked in their favour, they seemed to be making a lot of money on top of my rate and also in interest on what they were holding back for a month. I felt I received bad service from them. I did not receive any return phone calls when I needed to speak with them. I was wondering what I was getting for the £500- £700 per week… Read Full Review

All of a sudden I started getting emails from them when I had not given my contact details to them as far as I am aware or anyone with any links with them, when I called them to find out where they got my details from they gave me all sorts of different names, then said that someone who had now left the company had actually added my details to their database as far as I am concerned.

Basically I replied to an advert on Jobserve, which was through progressive, got the interview, interview went well.
For a 3 month contract, tried contacting them the following week, ignoring phone calls etc:- didn't know what to do, eventually found agency was not a recognised agency for the job.
2 weeks later found the same job advertised with recognised agencies, applied and got the position through another agency.
