I hired this from a local shop and was disappointed.
It constantly clogged on softer material such as ivy and creepers, which I had in abundence. The only plus point was that it was quiet. On the flip side I only managed to shred a fraction of what I hoped to achieve. Next time I will opt for a more noisy (but more efficient) model. (read more)

I read all of the reviews, and I would have gone for the AXT 2200, but our local B&Q didn't have it in, but I was impressed by the scores given here, so I went for the Quiet AXT2000. I purchased it to do my mums garden, which has gone past mature and needs thinning out. It has Pyracantha Conteneaster Holly bushes, roses that are past their best etc around 6ft in size, so are reasonably substantial, but the branches were varied, from very small to 30mm. I had to reject and cut anything above... (read more)

The Bosch AXT2000HP 200w Electric garden shredder replaced a Ryobi, which I purchased and returned to the shop because it was useless.

I bought the Bosch AXT 2000 HP 2000W shredder to cut down some of my seriously overgrown bushes so that we can replace the fence. Up till now I thought the electric hedge cutter was pretty good if not old and heavy. You could cut the bits up fairly small on the ground. Wrong! This shredder is awesome! I chose it from the reviews on this site, and bought it from Tooled-up.com. I have filled 7 garden waste sacks already. I had a garden waste sheet with handles; a few bricks hold it in place... I bought the Bosch AXT2000HP 200w electric garden shredder a month ago to shred branches from a fir tree, brambles, cuttings from a thorny hedge and a buddleah bush, etc. It was a mixture of dry stuff originally cut weeks earlier, and green leafy stuff. It really can take in big long branches, like the picture on the box, which is fun to watch. The width of the aperture prevents you putting in branches that are too thick.
A collecting bag is not provided (though apparently you can order... (read more)

I bought the Bosch AXT2000HP 220w electric garden shredder after reading other people's reviews, and I wasn't disappointed, in fact I was pretty impressed. It took me 2 hours to do what would normally be a 3 day job, and I had problems stopping! Beware! You may well find yourself with nothing left in your garden! I found that you could put soft green stuff in as long as you do it with some twiggy/branch stuff, but anyway even if it jams up it's really easy to unblock, and it's easy to wheel... (read more)

Bosch AXT2000HP 200w Electric - I have previously used a Power Devil impact shredder but was extremely unimpressed. It was hard work feeding it, it constantly jammed and in the end blew up. I was going to give up on DIY shredders until I saw the good reviews for this one. I bit the bullet, splashed out £175 and never looked back. It handles branches up to 3.5cm thick effortlessly, pulling them in quickly and spitting out 1.5cm chunks the other end. If you alternate between woody material and... (read more)

I checked this website before buying a shredder and was impressed with the good reviews for other Bosch shredders so instead of goint for a cheaper option I forked out for this model and I have to say that I have been very pleased with the decision. Nearly everything shreds very effectively. If the wood is too dry it has to be coaxed in. If there are too many leaves, or if the stem/branch is too flimsy, it can fail to feed through, but this is easily solved by following up with a thicker... (read more)
