    1) When I bought the program on disk in September 2008, compensating for a slow dialup connection, the company shipped me a "personalized" version with the most recent av updates dated early July. Lots of other minor technical problems with the disk, such that most users would not have been able to ...

I've been using Avira for years. And was happy with it... till...
I tried AVG. Avira constists only of a resident guard and a virus scanner.
AVG has this + Emailscanner + Spywarescanner + Adwarescanner + Protection from dangerous links in the web (even without having the browser plugin istalled).
    An ...

Good detection rate, easy to use, not too intensive on system resources and best of all is FREE!
Excellent detections- I had been keeping a norton subscription going for years, always buying the latest version before I installed this. Afterinstalling AVG it found 4 viruses and various other lower ri ...

I used the free versions for about 5 years before buying the 2 year subscription for about $55.00. I'm about to renew now for 2 more years. AVG does what it should, why try something else?

I would get rid of AVG completly and start again, because I really can't think of a good thing about it, it needs a lot of work towards it, I'm ashamed of what it has done to me computer, nearly came to wiping my hard-drive. Please sort this mess out.

I do not recommend Grisoft AVG, I was happy with earlier versions. This version AVG 8 is a just annoying for me. Disabled all web based live email programs eg gmail, hotmail, yahoo. And their technical support havent fixed the problem yet it seems - instead they told me to wait for a reply via the y ...

    Cannot delete infected files/folders
    No Rootkit scan
The Internet Safe Surf doesn't block dangerout websites. Only alerts you
    Tweaking can take some time
There are better free A-V's out there.
I would recommend using Avira Antivir free edition of all free Anti Virus software. It has the highest succ ...

Not one for me, but, i am not an antivirus expert in any way so make your own mind up.

AVG 7.5 was a superb low impact on system anti virus tool I am sorry it is no longer supported...
AVG 8 is to Grisoft what Vista and DRM management is to Microsoft in my opinion. They both forgot there purpose in their arrogance I feel therefore I do not recommend Grisoft AVG.
