Winchester SX3 Field
I purchased this shotgun after nothing but problems from a Benelli SBE. I am amazed at the quality fit and finish from the SX3. Wood stock and forarm are beautiful for the base model of the line up. Barrel and action fit like a glove with no gaps or misalignments. Clean rib and beautiful white bead make moving targets look stationary. The action of the SX3 is like no other autoloader, smooth and very fast even with 2 3/4in light target loads. After running over five... (read more)

Best semi-auto I have owned. Functions perfectly with all loads from target to turkey. Was never able to shoot target loads with my Remington 1100.
Can't wait for the fall hunting season. However, I am glad I have a few more months to practice on the clays as I am having a difficult time adjusting to the raised rib.
Wish either Winchester or the aftermarket would make more accessories available for this fine firearm. (read more)

I have had nothing but problems with my Winchester Super X3. From day one out the box it wouldn't cycle shells. Its completely random. I have seen $300 shotguns work better than my $1000 SX3. Nothing more frustrating having a bird get up in from of you and your gun failing to cycle a shell. I have sent it in once and they told me nothing was wrong with it. I am in the process of sending it back to them. DON'T BUY ONE. (read more)

I live in New Zealand and have just baught one of these puppies. LEGEND. Being of the short stocky variety I often have pronblems getting standard gonfiguration guns to fit. I played around with the spacers until i got things feeling just right.Put about 30 hunting shells through it to break it in then went to our local gun clubs duckshooeter eye opener sporting clays day. LOVE IT!!! Not a single mis feed etc. Gun felt perfrct and MUCH LIGHTER on the shoulder than my previous semi. (read more)

I bought this gun a year ago. i first bought a 11-87. I was told that it would shot light loads. Wrong. I took it back to Cabela's and bought the SX3. Took it to the field and had a great time. It was cold and the finish of the camo stock was great. The gun just felt right in my hands. I slid down a creek bank and got the gun muddy. Took my stocking cap off and did a quick wipe off. Never missed a beat. My norm isn't to buy high dallor guns. My model 50 just shot 2 3/4. I wanted a... (read more)

I purchased a 28" Super X3 with waterfowl camouflage finish. The gun is excellent but beware of the Duratouch finish. I place my gun in a padded case into and out of the field. After only 3 hunts the camouflage finish began to chip off where the barrell enters the receiver. I sent it back to the service center and they claimed it is normal wear and deterioration. They did not touch up the area or even offer a suggestion as to how to stop the "normal wear".
I have a Super X2 in black finish... (read more)

The Winchester Super X3 Field has an excellent action and is a delight to use, to be honest I've only put six shots through mine to date but already I'm glad I made what I perceived to be a risky purchase. The only other semi-auto I've used and can compare it to is the Benelli Montefeltro Comfort which is also a very very nice gun. Despite the Winchester being cheaper and simpler I would still take it over the Benelli. Also, the balance and weight feels much more 'right' than any Beretta... (read more)

The Winchester Super X3 Field is basically a Browning made on the same production line as the Browing Gold, Phoenix & FNH SLP ( Self Loading Police) tactical shotgun.
This Weapon is therefore a European manufactured from FNH, Herstal Belgium.
The internals & in particular, the gas valve & breach block / extractor is the same as the other Browning's with exception to the Golds direct load to chamber facility.
Those who doubt the durability & quality should get themselves a IPSC shotgun... (read more)

I sold my AL391 Urika Optima to purchase a Winchester Super X3 Field. I feel sad for that!!! I purchased SX3 by deeply studying reviews on web but none was against the gun till I practically used the gun myself. First problem that I observed was its loose fore end as the gun keeps ticking in your hand "Wooden Stocks!" you swing the gun you mount the gun you hold the gun it just keeps tick tick tick tick tick. Later the biggest flaw that I observed was the gun not picking the cartridge at... (read more)
