This company needs to look at the members of staff their hiring, very rude . Ageism abuse on the phone disgusting! I took out insurance with Go Skippy unbeknown to myself these were the underwriters.I took it out because the insurance was the cheapest and Go Skippy had good reviews. Unfortunately I had an accident in which other party took off before I could get licence plate number so had to do a own fault claim. I Informed Go Skippy who were sympathetic, they then put me on to some other insurance company who took all of my details . It then took two months to sort out my claim. After my claim was finalised I then received an email from Go Skippy with a forwarding letter from Southern Rock stating that they were cancelling my insurance in seven days because I was a risk to them. I thought this is what you take insurance out for! I could understand if I had convictions or endorsements or made loads of claims, but I am a middle aged person with a clean licence. Because of this cancellation I now have to declare it each time I take out insurance. I have just applied for insurance for a same make and model car but a year older than my previous car, I previously paid £331 for a years insurance I have just been quoted between £918 and £1600 for the same cover.Steer well clear.

“steer well clear!!”

seriously the most unprofessional, rude, useless service ive ever encountered...for starters try and find a contact number online for them...good luck! .they are covered by ccg, who also can not put you correctly through to southern rock themselves. i had the call dropped whilst in a waiting que THREE items in a row, i had a manager give me the wrong number too ring, another manager transfer me through to a house insurance company instead of southern rock/eldon, and the lady i spoke to there told me it is common for them to incorrectly put people through to them. currently almost 2.5hrs into trying to investigate an apparent claim against my policy which i was never made aware of! been told by one advisers theirs no claim against it, another that there is, another that they cant see i still have a policy...its insanely and almost comically incompetent.

The worst insurance company ever. Couldn't get rid of them. They was threatening me witch stupid charges.. etc.... and at the end I had problems to get my NCB certificate.... I don't know if anyone have different experience with them but for me they r rubbish..

Same here! They've threatened to cancel my policy numerous times even though I have sent them documents
They requested. Throughout Christmas and now again while I'm in hospital. I'm sure we have rights, this is unacceptable considering i paid for the year!

“Appalling service. AVOID at all costs”

Having always compared annually this came into view as an option in April 2017 and I took InsurAnce that was underwritten by southern rock. As my car is used for towing this was declared as modified. Upon contacting to advise of change of address today i have now had them cancel my policy and hAve 7 dAys to find new insurance as they say I never declAred and they don't do Dr modifications. This in it's self is frustrating but they want to charge a cancellation figure of £75 to do so.in my search for new insurance i have to declare that I hAve had Insurance declined and I either get no quotes or extortionate quotes not touch this. Company

Please make sure you don't suffer like i have and check your policy (mine was go skippy) is not a front backed up by eldon and southern rock. their staff are all awful and are clearly just getting through the day to earn their money. No empathy, no sympathy no understanding. Clueless i would literally give them minus stars if i could.

After a year go skippy sent a quote £500 more than the year before!!!! A Joke, really hard to get through and when I did they couldn't care less, not even sure they knew what they were doing!!!

My partner had his policy cancelled within 6 days. Such a waste of £110 we put down for the deposit. Happy to take your money but not provide a decent service! Nothing but bad reviews, wish I'd seen these first !

Hello all, i cant thank the underwriters Southern Rock, for Eldon Insurance enough, my husband and i was involved in an accident recently, and on inspection of our car they noticed we had tinted windows, which we didn't declare as a modification on our policy, long story short, we ended up having a void insurance, as you can imagine we were pretty devastated, so we decided to put a heartfelt letter together and then sent it to all parties dealing with this void insurance, low and behold we had a letter back shortly after sending, saying that we can see you didn't intentionally go out to make a fraudulent claim it was a simple error, so we are reinstating you, and on top of that, we've just discovered that they have given us a free year of insurance too! Woop woop So people if you feel let down, get pen to paper and express your feelings, its worked out for us and cant thank this Insurance company enough! Fantastic.

Good luck trying to get through, they offer you NO help whatsoever (but they're more than willing to take your cash). They're unreliable, unsupportive and useless. I didn't realise they'd put an accident on my record until A YEAR LATER when my new insurance company told me! An accident that wasn't my fault!!!! They never thought to notify me that this would go on my record and my premiums would almost double because of it! Not one letter/email or phonecall! Shocking! They're cheap for a reason- stay away!

“Terrible! Avoid like the plague ”

Found Go Skippy through Money Supermarket as cheapest car insurance. Once I took out policy they asked for loads of extra info that I've never needed to give before. Sent them copies of mine and my husband's driving license as requested, shared my DVLA code with them and then they told me I was the only driver on policy even though I'd added my husband. Then when I added my husband over the phone they refused to cover him as he was French!!!! He has full EU license, never had any convictions, lived in UK for years, works, owns home etc. The customer service lady kept asking why he didn't have a UK license, I replied because he's French and in 10 years of driving in UK this has never been asked before. Absolutely disgusting. Blatant racism. Have cancelled immediately but will stay have to pay late cancellation fee. I'm appalled, have never experienced anything like it.

“They couldn't care less”

We had a minor bump in the city and the local police were in the area at the time so they did insurance checks. Ours came back fine, not with them, but the other guys' didn't. But he claimed it was a new policy so the police left us to it. We contacted our insurer and they couldn't find the guys insurance either and had no claim from the guy but said it will be left open for 3 months. Fast forward 6 months and my new insurance company asked about it, but since we've had no paperwork or calls from Southern Rock we believed the guy was pulling a fast one because of the police. But still I've contacted Southern Rock as I have a claim from them on file. To say the manager was unhelpful would be wrong, but she couldn't care less and keeps trying to pass the buck to "Eldon insurance" . If I wanted a response from them, I would go to them, but I'm told Southern Rock! Why would I want to waste my money calling their premium line to deal with someone not named in the claim. To end, I got close to telling this woman to do her job and if it's an outsourced company they choose to use then she should sort it and to stop giving me the same sentence response email as it is time wasting and counter productive, plus not good for customer service!.. All sounds very dodgy to me.

When you speak to them on the phone BEFORE they take money off you so nice so helpful you give them all the details they ask for but then you get a letter through the post asking you for more information you send that and then when you you ring them after few days just to make sure they got the info they wanted they say no and your insurance is not valid because you didnt send the info they asked for in time but you did because you paid X amount of money and then when you try to cancel there charges are just shocking they take few hundreds of pounds for been insured for two weeks i send the info they asked for by email still they didnt get it STAY AWAY

Right where to start I just took out insurance with go skippy underwrighters southern rock and I sent them all the information required and they telling me that they sent me out a letter requiring more info and it was not received upon speaking with them today they said my insurance was cancelled 3 days ago so I be driving around with no insurance that is nice to know I will stay well away from these people as they are nothing but bad news and this is the second time they have done this to me and expect me to pay again another deposit of £220 as I am a new driver and they don't even let you speak  thy southern rock sent me the post when in actuall fairness they are based in gibralter and don't send mail out heard it myself from the horses mouth myself so stay well away x

“Do not go with them,if you have already get ready”

I have taken a policy with go skippy (underwriter southern rock) back in feb 2015 and provided all the relevant paper they have asked for and paid all my instalment on time. Recently november 2015 they cancel my policy after 9 months stating that the no claim bonus certificate i have gave them is incorrect. Then i realized i did gave sent them wrong paper and immediately offer the correct paper but answer is very simple sod off. Any ways after several ph call no solution then i realized that they put my details as fraud at the database which left me unable obtain any insurance so far it just lovely init. I have made complain to ombudsman and waiting for response. I am so frustrated i just tried to laugh it off. I did not gave not a single piece information incorrect. Now i need the car more than ever mrs is due to delivry any time now and the hospital is 25miles away from home. I just can't believe this. I have never made any claim. Please do avoid at anycost this company based in gibralter they dont care about your policy and they can cancel any policy any time. Good luck. I would have give them 5 star value for money if it would serve the purpose but it put in whole load of trouble. Cheapest is not the best or nowhere near to best. I learn the hard way.

“Disgusting ”

I really don't know where to start. I set up a policy for my husband which started at £44/ month. Then after a month went upto £118/ month due to some information not being clearly stated THEN... April this year someone slammed on their break making my husband go into the back of them.. Since then it's been nothing but a nightmare. They are trying to say he was driving to work and he isn't covered for that.. Baring in mind he wasn't driving to work and we can prove it. Then they cancelled his insurance and now asking for over £300! They have also said that any charges involved in the claim is on our heads and we must pay!!! How disgusting.... They have been the worst insurance company I have ever been involved with and I've been driving 9 years!!! STAY CLEAR!!!!!!!

Southern Rock (igo4, go skippy) are terrible. I recently bought a policy with these and put my son on insurance policy so I could give him a few extra driving lessons before he goes for test. I paid over £250 deposit made credit agreement with 3rd party to pay monthly for my son and to be sent a letter 2 weeks into policy telling me that my son was not covered to drive car because they do not insure learner drivers and policy is being cancelled. which is a load of cobblers I filled every form out saying that my son was a leaner driver, also I did another quote on their own website (not threw compare market) with same details and quote came up exactly same I even did it with my son in his own and they was willing to insure him on his own. STAY AWAY FROM THESE ROBBING VERMIN!!!!!!

I tried to claim through these hacks as I was involved in a crash where the third party claimed responsibility. First they sent me a cheque for a over a thousand pounds cheaper than my car was valued at and claimed it's fair as I can get the rest through scrap. Days of battling and they finally agreed to pay the rest. After they collected my car and I sent the log book back. Eventually I had to cancel the claim and get my insurance to do it for me through them as they are so useless. Customer services doesn't have a clue. At one point they told me off because apparently they are doing me a favour sorting it so quick as apparently it should take 6 months. Do not use And pray you do not have an incident with anyone who does use them

Paid up front 3.5k cheapest quote !! For 17 year old son insured third party , had car fire on moterway - given curtesy car for wk as car was being repaired - then 2 was later taking car bak now not fixable - sent claims assessor who turned out to b a investigator !! Had been thru all sons blogs / Instagram / Facebook - to prove he is trickster this company will do anything to get out of paying , 8 wks in and being told to withdraw claim and cancel policy or threat prosecution -- going to ombudsman -- please don't let your youngsters just get insurance with them because they are cheap , they will regret it !!! - will post outcome

I have recently had a accident and started a claim with my insurer Southern Rock only to find out I irresponsibly and unknowingly let my M.O.T run out by a month and have learnt that they will not pay the claim because of this, is there anything anyone knows of what my options could be or do I just have to suck it up?
