“Good Pushchair”

★★★★☆

written by zainua on 14/04/2013

Pushchair is good, but the front wheel a little disappointed ... used the cradles and walking blocks. Cradles a little too narrow, that is, for the winter to the year, and if older, they can not climb. Our video review http://youtu.be/XC3DFvbYWW0

we purchased a lovley blue first wheels twin city elite pushchair after only 3 months use my front wheel snapped two weeks ago my second front wheel snapped too, both whilst crossing a road and nearly tipped over. When i phoned the helpline i spoke to a very rude lady who told me that she has had no complaints about this pram and that i was the first to complain therefore telling me that i broke it.She did not want to hear what i had to say and hung up on me.Nothing has been resolved just yet,so i will be going down Trading Standards route next. I have had to purchase another twin buggy whilst my £400 city elite sits in the cupboard.

“Fantastic buggy. Would recommend it every time....”

★★★★★

written by on 10/07/2010

Fantastic buggy. Would recommend it every time. Always turns heads, is easy to push and the children can face both ways. Obviously, as with any double, it's vital to check dimensions if you wish to put it in your car boot or through your front door, but the width has always been fine wherever I have taken it. The children love it too and I have yet to find any areas for improvement. I challenge anyone to find a double buggy where the children can face the parent and which looks as good as this.

Although the visual aspect, and manoeuvrability is good (with the exception of getting through doorways)....The underlying build quality is terrible, not to mention DANGEROUS. Within a year of purchasing....The rear Brake mechanism stopped working, and the front wheel snapped off whilst pushing over slight bumps at a level crossing, nothing that any parent pushing their young twins wouldn't expect of this or any other similar product. That comprised with the UK Manufacturer "Cool Trade" refusing to Repair/Replace the product within the 1yrs guarentee...stating user fault..Makes this product/manufacturer a combination to highly avoid. 3mths later we have not got this resolved, fortunately could afford to buy different buggy in replacement, but...warn people against gambling there money and loved ones with this product.

written by on 26/05/2010

I LOVE this pushchair! It was the only one I could find which ticked all the boxes. I can have both my children facing me, it manoeuvres beautifully, fits through every shop door I've tried, looks stylish, and reclines perfectly for the children to sleep. I would recommend in every time. Please don't be put off by some of the negative comments on this site - I genuinely fault this this pushchair.

“DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE FIRST WHEELS CITY TWIN...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 25/02/2010

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE FIRST WHEELS CITY TWIN STROLLER 2009 MODEL!!! Too wide to fit through the door! So big its just impractical and the seats are too small! Ridiculous! Huge, wide frame, small seats! Also, I haven't had the experience of taking it out and about because I couldn't get the pushchair through the front door but I have read reviews from people experiencing dangers of this oversized pushchair so I wouldn't risk it!! The company I purchased this pushchair from are coming to collect it today and good riddance to it!!! I would not recommend this pushchair to my worst enemy and I strongly beleive it should be taken off the market, everyone who has experienced problems with this pushchair and First Wheels customer service should get together and take the matter to Watchdog!!!

First Wheels City Twin Stroller is an absolute let down!!! I got a very good price from Kiddicare.com for the 2009 model but I have had to send it back! It doesnt even fit through the door, its ridiculously huge which makes it so impractical! Even if I did manage to get the pushchair through the door which is impossible, I wouldn't be able to get on buses or get it through shop doors, etc. This pushchair would be a nightmare to go out and about with, its just too big!! The seats are too small, I bought this pushchair for my 2 yr old and 8 month old so they can both face me but my 2 yr old is too tall for the seat! You would have to get this pushchair for newborn twins but will have to replace it as they get older!!

★★★★★

written by on 09/02/2010

I have twins and have been through several pushchairs before settling with this one. Mine is the new 2009 model and I have had none of the problems associated with the earler design. I find it very light and easy to push and my girls love that they can face me and see eachother and hold hands. I find the only negative is that you need a big boot.

“We have had a First Wheels City twin for a year. It...”

★★★★☆

written by on 13/11/2009

We have had a First Wheels City twin for a year. It was bought in Oct 2008.

Generally we have been very happy with and it is going well.
The brake can be sticky and needs a drip of 3 in 1 oil every six months. I've tended to drop some around the wheel bearing as well.

During this autumn we started suffering from punctures and my contact with after sales was poor. They tried to tell me that the tyre could not be changed and I needed a new wheel at £35 each. I bought two new rear tyres at the local bike shop. £13.00 for two.

I understand the previous comments regarding the robustness of the front wheel and their inability to deal with 'big bumps'.

Haven't had any frame problems and love the ability to face them either way and the general flexibility. I also find the pushchair very maneouverable and light compared to the mountain buggy.

We have found it good value for money and no problems with the girls in it and the cosy toes are fabulous but it needs some TLC maintenance from time to time.

It folds reasonablely well and is similar to other similar buggies of its style.

Generally very happy with it - would buy again.

“feel that i was ripped off with a pram that I thought...”

written by crouchley2005 on 09/06/2009

feel that i was ripped off with a pram that I thought would last me years. The service I received from firstwheels office in the UK made me out to be a liar about where i bought the pram from and that they cannot help me out with the faults as it lies with who I bought it from and not them. This is my second chaisis and now my second wheel which has snapped again. Each time they repaired it foc but know they have decided it is not for them to repair. I ve had the pram 12mths and only had 8 mths use out of the pram. Should have bought the cheaper pram from mothercare I originally wanted.

“Firstwheels City Twin Stroller is more trouble than it...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 20/01/2009

Firstwheels City Twin Stroller is more trouble than it is worth. Chassis handle is very flimsy probably because of the weight when going up and down kerbs. Front wheels collapse inwards and brake is less than adequate. I would not recommend this pushchair to anyone. It does have a lot of versatility. New version being introduced 2009 lets hope there are some major improvements

written by on 11/01/2009

I chose this pushchair for my twins as it was (at the time) one of the most versatile on the market. I liked that I could use carrycots, and that when using the pushchair, you could have the children facing towards or away from you. In terms of how it looks with 2 new babies in the carrycots, this Firstwheels City Twin Stroller pushchair ticked the right boxes. However I wouldn't recommend it as I now believe there are other twin carrycoys on the market. It doesn't fold away small enough to be a practical long term option.

“The larger back wheels of my Firstwheels City Twin...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 30/12/2008

The larger back wheels of my Firstwheels City Twin Stroller started to fall apart at the hub after 3 months. I'm on my third set now which are also starting to fall apart again 9 months into first year - the shop has exchanged these for free so far, we haven't used it so much in last 3 months for fear of these failing again - is there a known problem which Firstwheels know about? I find the brake awkward to set and undo. Needs greasing regularly - this was not pointed out at time of buying. Teflon cycle grease is the best product I've used.

Wouldn't have bought this if I'd known the wheels would keep failing. Apart from that not bad.

Versatility and lots of options for forward and rear facing of cots and pushchair units

I have had problems with the chassis handle collapsing and also front wheels do not seem adequate

I have had too many issues with chassis to recommend this pushchair to anyone.

I paid over £400 for this pram and got extra carry cot for newborn! the carry cot is very narrow, whilst trying to get my pram across a busy road the adjustable handle on my pram collapsed and i had to drag the pram over road i found this to be very dangerous and ceased using pram straight away... its now gathering dust in my garage as i wouldn't dare sell it on. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

front wheels seem flimsy and buckle if I go over an uneven surface and look like they're going to snap, the handle gives when I try to get up onto a kerb which I feel is extremely dangerous if I am crossing a busy road.

I was extremely unsatisfied with my pram, I had to change it when my twin boys were 4 months. would not recommend this product

written by Mummy Bear on 10/06/2008

The internet company I bought Firstwheels City Twin Stroller from said I was 7 days out of warranty and cannot help unless I send it to them and pay for it to be repaired. I purchased the pram 8 weeks before the twins were born in case they came premature so I only actually used the pram for 10 months so costly choice all in all steer clear

Overall i've been very happy with this pram, having my twins in the carry
cots was great and although some problems with the frame i woudn't be put of buying it as it is very easy and light to push. It folds easily but was still too big to go in my boot, but i just had a maclaren for the car which worked well. Apart from going through my own house door i haven't had any problems with using it in shops etc
