on line purchasing very poor. I wanted to treat my daughter for her birthday as she was going on a girly holiday.
tried over for 2 days to pay for my items but the check out part would not let me go any further, cr**. For what river island, its on line shopping the thing its a large part of shopping experience. It's very, poor, and as for the shopping assistants their not got a clue, and there no number so you can contact someone.

I love the Clothes and every month i buy some clothes but everytime i try to there is some kind of problem. initially the first thing that irritates me is that you look through the entire website clicking on add to basket the things that you like. Get to your basket to make your final decisions but you cant click on the items to see what they were or anything so i end up getting rid of most of it. I've tried several times to order items from River Island and have never been able to. Firstly, there is no manual way to enter your home address and the website did not recognise my postcode, therefore I had to have my items delivered to a friend's address. Or I would have, but when it came to processing my order I had entered my card info only to be told that my order could not be processed for whatever reason. i would give this 0 marks if i could.
such a Sh*t website, fu**ing flash cr*p,
looks like a phising website, (i reported it
any way tried about 20 times over a period of 2 weeks,
but had no luck going through the complete ordering process,
i had messages like , wrong card number, un-acceptable card, etc.

I bought a very flattering navy blazer, in a soft jersey material with nice nautical details on the buttons. I loved it, and thought the design was very well thought out and it all looked lovely. I was very upset shortly afterwards. The material bobbled after wearing if twice and the buttons fell off! Plus the material seems to attract all the static there is in London, including fluff and pet hairs. The absolute WORST of the worst!! Shop very regularly at river island stores and have never had a problem, customer service is fine, always willing to help. HOWEVER, ordered online for the first time recently and will NEVER order again. The worst online shopping experience one could ever undertake, useless website, says items are in stock that arent, says they are ordered when they are not, then numerous auto generated responses from the order system and Customer services.
No actual human feedback to my complaints.

i was impressed with the ease in which i could make my purchases on the riverisland web site. I was actually encouraged to buy more than I anticipated as the layout was very customer friendly. I purchased several menswear items such as trainers, shirt, coat and jeans and they all arrived very quickly and on time. River Island fronts itself with an attractive, easy to navigate online site that means its easy to make regretable purchases.
Compared to the other major retail outlets River Island overprices its goods. What do we look for when we value an item? Personally if I am going to pay above the odds I'd expect quality and durability. The clothing fails misserably on both. It took 3 working days for the dress to be despatched from River Island(this was ordered on 7th Sept 09). The courier company mis-sorted it. Since this time I have made 8 phone calls, no one is getting back to me re this parcel. I had nearly been put off from buying from this site, as a friend spent £200 on items that never actually left the warehouse, even though she'd got an email to say they'd been dispatched, and taken the money.
She eventually got a refund after 3 weeks.
I love a lot of the clothes from River Island so it would have been a shame to let that get in the way. The website was a bit of a nightmare to navigate, but I was happy with the delivery time and packaging. But looking at previous reviews… Read Full Review

Received unbelievably good service the first time I ordered-I'd seen a pair of shoes instore but they didn't have my size. Found them online, placed my order on a Saturday, selected Standard Delivery as Express seemed pricey especially as it wasn't a Next Day service. I couldn't belive it when they arrived on Monday! Not happy - ordered 6 items from River Island - came to around £215 with next day delivery
then went on to my account to find they had cancelled one of the items as it wasnt in stock - NO EMAIL TO TELL ME THIS
THEN... to make matters worse they then charged my card again for the total without the item!!!!
Sent them an email and NO REPLY - bad customer service
Customer service not open on Saturdays - so now I have to wait till Monday to get my £215 back!!!!!
