While folding up a white jacket a shop assitant in Richmond upon Thames made black sribbles onto one of the sleeves. We only found out when we opened the bag in the place where we were staying. In the shop two of us had examined the jacket carefully - and the scribbles had not been on the sleeve when we handed over the jacket to the assistant. I ordered a 'web exclusive' dress as a gift for someone. I was initially put off by the delivery charge for 3 - 5 days, you could usually get Next Day Delivery for the cost on another retailers site. I've only ever bought online twice from River Island - I never will be again. The first time I bought from here I did use standard delivery, still was quite expensive and cost £3.50 from what I could remember. I didn't get my item for over two weeks. The second time I purchased I used first class, the items did come slightly quicker, but still took a little over a week to come. I'm sure this isn't news to anyone but Yodel delivery has struck again! Why River Island still use the predominantly worst delivery service in the UK astounds me. Paid a small fortune on the 8th for express delivery, at 12:30. the 10th and still no sign. Tracked through Yodel and the delivery won't be made till the 11th! The River Island website say delivery within 1 or 2 working days of delivery and mostly next day for orders before 7pm. How can this be? Absolutely shocking! Never shopping… Read Full Review

“Worst delivery ever!”

Order went smoothly, but I received a calling card from YodelHome after 3 days of placing the order. The card said that my order had been left at my backdoor. Well I looked there, and round pretty much the whole garden, NOTHING. I asked YodelHome about it, and they just said sorry and that they'd interview the driver. I just ordered items on the 13th March, my items have still not arrived today. The items were despatched, and now I cannot even track it. I emailed River island and they said if my items do not arrive until April 11th (one month later) to contact them then. WTF... you pay for good and they don't show up and I should wait for over a month for them to investigate it... I'm so annoyed... to make matters worse I have put in another order waiting over 7 days for that, so will see how that turns out..... total cost was about 300 pounds!!!!

What a terrible delivery service, took nearly double the standard delivery time it should of taken. However, I'm always prepared to wait because the quality of the items are always good quality and of a nice, flattering fit. They should tell you if the item is limited in stock or not, would help a great deal. I love the range of different styles they have as they're unique but I can find most of their jewellery at other, cheaper places. All the rings go pink after one use! I loved the clothes on the site for my boys, ages 4 and 8. It's way better than Children's Place, Gap or any other U.S store for boys that is affordable.
