I bought this camea just 2 years ago, and I hardly used it. unfortunatly the flash stopped working just a week past the 2 year warranty. I would have to pay more to repair it than the original coast of the camera. Rubbish. Poor manual.

On normal alkine bateries the camera is basically rubbish but with rechargeable Nihm bateries rates 2700 mah its wonderful. The autofocus is good and focuses quite quickly but there is a long time to wait between taking shots, this is a bit disappionting, lots of people have said they have had niose problems but i have not expeinced these at an ISO of under 400, The shutter speed of 1/2000 that this camera offers if very good and the large LCD screen is wonderful and you can really see the images in good detail. For a beginer it would be a great camera. It feels sturdy. But its anoying when the battery gets low and the camera just shuts off and doesn't close down. But overall a great camera :) (sorry about the spelling)

Are using the wrong batteries. These cameras chew alkaline batteries as it is not what they were designed for. Buy Lithium Ion batteries and you should easily see 10 hours of constant use out of each pair. If you do then I well recommend the Samsung Digimax S1050 camera.

My Samsung Digimax S1050 takes very good photographs without having to input too much information. It is excellent value for money - BUT am still trying to work out how to use some of its functions as the accompanying booklet difficult to understand (too liitle information in too many languages).

The Samsung Digimax S1050is a good all round camera but you must use NiMh or Hybrio atteries rated at 2000mh and more.

I love this Digimax S1050. It is easy to use, takes great photos, and it had a great price tag.

In my opinion it is an easy to use all round camera that most people would love to have, it takes quality pictures without having to have had months of training. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Please take note that batteries for digital cameras should be of a higher load as they do take a bit of power and you should be looking at duracell ultra m3's or rechargeable batteries specifically for digital cameras. Then the performance is what you should expect and want.

I am very disappointed with the Samsung Digimax S1050, basic functions/facilities of anti blurr and battery life let this camera down. The other functions are pointless if it doesn't take a sharp picture or if the camera switches off part way through your event!
I am going to get my money back.

Samsung S1050 Review - Picture quality is excellent. Easy to use. Large monitor which is very handy when you want to take a good look at the photo after you have taken it. Battery life is terrible. However, if you purchase rechargeable batteries then you should be ok, as you do not have to keep buying new ones saving you some money. Have to make sure camera is still when taking pictures as the slightest movement can make the picture blurry even with the anti blurr function on. So may not be suitable for people who want to take pictures of children. When recording a video it doesn't record sound when you zoom in. Not good for when you want to take quick pictures one after the other. After a photo is taking, camera takes some time in processing it and going back to the view finder. Overall a very good camera, especially for the price it was purchased at. First digital camera brought and happy with my purchase.

Very Good. The Automatic Image Detection option on the Samsung Digimax S1050 is so good which can be used when back light is more.
Its value for money.

The Samsung Digimax S1050 was the 1st digital camera I bought and I think its great ,great price £89.99 Argos. Although if I knew about the battery life i would have bought a rechargeable one.

I will suggest to buy the Samsung Digimax S1050 camera only if you find a workaround for the battery problem.

Just bought the Samsung Digimax S1050 and it looks fab takes brill pictures. I have though experienced the same as everyone else with the batteries only last about an hour. I have just bought some rechargeable batteries so i will see if they last any longer.

The Samsung Digimax S1050 looks great and is very easy to use. The battery life annoys me as this is not something I was expecting but this is the first digital camera I have owned so this might be normal. I can't complain too much as it was reduced from £199.99 to £89.99 (Good old Argos where would I be without you). So yes, very good camera.

I have used many digital cameras, from Sony, Fuji, Panasonic & Kodak. This is by far the best, compact, high spec I have used so far.............

I took my Samsung Digimax S1050 back to Argos and they sent it back to Samsung brand new Duracell batteries lasted about half an hour ???? should have bought a camera with rechargeable battery. BIG LET DOWN ON MY FIRST EXPENSIVE CAMERA.

I bought this camera recently and having found the instructions in the box to be pretty rubbish i checked out the samsung website and found where to download the full user guide for this camera.
I bought this camera for general picture taking with my family not for professional use and i have found it to be great once i learnt all the functions!! Also if you are thinking of buying it, Argos is currently selling in pink and silver for £89.99 - this is where i bought from as i havent found it anywhere cheaper. Have fun with your new camera!

The battery life was 2 hours. This is not good. I bought a S1050. I was trying out all the functions and was kinda surprised that the brand new Duracell batteries ran out after 2 hours. If this is the case, gee. I am going to try another set of batteries, but the batteries I used were wrapped brand new. I was only taking practice shots. Not more than 20.

I recently bought the above camera, read the guide and took a couple of shots and a video when the batteries ran out as well! What's that all about?
<br/>This is my first digital camera and wondered if this is the norm for these things or if it's a fault with the camera.
<br/>The batteries were brand new and came with the camera.
