Never ever in my life will i book with Hays Travel again. Two years running i have done this and two years running i have not received my inflight meals voucher. Why did you book again i hear you ask, well nothing to do with me, this was booked with one of the other family members. An organisation that boasts as UK's largest independently owned travel agent has a motor "nobody offers you more" but my experience with them makes both claims a sound like a joke. I would not recomment them as a good travel agent to book through. Avoid at all costs… Read Full Review

This company and associated companies such as 2bookaholiday are so poor I have complained to ABTA who can enforce penalties and I am also now considering legal action. I am owed £600 from when Kiss Airlines ceased trading in August last year.

15th February 2011. I have just spoken to Hays Travel for the 100th time and today I am assured customers affected by the Goldtrail collapse will now be refunded by HAYS Travel (Not CAA) or Insurance companies involved. Booked though Hays Travel for a Gold Trail holiday, Gold trail went bust before I flew.
Hays Travel took over 4 months to send the paperwork to the CAA and I still have not heard a word about my refund over 6 months after the event.

I went to Menorca with Hays last year, we booked 8 mths before because we only wanted to go to Cala Galdana as we were going in August and my family have problems with burning in the sun. The day before the holiday Hays rang to say the hotel was overbooked and we had to go to a different resort, Son Bou, which was miles away and very open and bleak. Our holiday was cancelled due to the collapse of Goldtrail and although I returned my form immediately (received by Hays 26th July) I have still had no indication as to when I will be receiving a refund for my flight costs. I've been advised that the claim was sent to CAA on 8th Dec but been rejected. No-one on the helpline can tell me what was happening with my claim between 26th July and 8th December or why the claim was rejected. booked hol to dom rep.sept 2010 the same hol was taken out my bank account twiced a mistake on hays,was not just few hundred pounds,puttn me into hefty overdraft and numerous calls to hays customer service,with promises of returned calls from supervisers eg.never happend,contact customer services after lenthy calls again demanded this number,needless to say nearly 7 wks later and more calls told them policy is to recieve letter acknowledgement within 14 days settle complaint within 4 wks agreed… Read Full Review

I have written a review on anything before but felt that i should let everyone know what a con this company is!!!!!I booked a holiday on line, after having put in my card details and pressed CONFIRM BOOKING it said we will call you to complete your booking. update on review written 31st Aug .... i have now contacted the CAA and not only has my claim form not been recieved they tell me an agreement is being set up with Hays whereby they handle refunds not the CAA ..... GOD HELP US!!!!! I do not think we will see our money again. I have written a letter of complaint to Hays needless to say no reply or acknowledgment. Booked a 2 week holiday to Majorca with teletext holidays, dealt with by Hays travel. cost me £458 for transfers, 2 weeks all inclusive, which i thought was very cheap compared to some holidays, managed to get the deposit dropped down from £380 to £178 as i was skint but wanted to book the holiday at the time. Absolutely disgusting service, avoid like the plague. Didn't even notify us about tour op going bust, been promised a refund seven times over the last seven weeks, didn't tell us we were covered by their own insurance. We are still fighting for a refund. We have used Hays for the past ten years..... Got really good quote and had several queries about flights/rooms/board etc -called back and they promised to find out answers and call me back asap - still waiting for them to call me.
I decided to call them back (several times) and the details given on the initial quote were changed ie. no sea view room available, no family room available, increased cost, changed dates depending on who I spoke to. I was made to feel like I had got everything wrong.
