I have also had problems with Hayes, Hayes told me to send all the paperwork to them as they were claiming through their insurance. When I phoned chasing the claim they told me they were in the process of sending all the paperwork to the CAA as Kiss would not pay out. I phoned numerous times and each time they had an excuse to extend the claim time.I have received part of my money back from the CAA but as I had not cancelled the hotel Hayes persuaded us to go on another flight but had to book 2 more days as the flights were not available for 10 tens so we are claiming for the extra flight costs and 2 days extra hotel cost which they promised we would get reinbursed for from their insurance. Every time I phone they keep adding on another 3 months to payout even though they have told me my claim is ready to go. Disgusting what can I do...I will never use Hayes again!!

This company and associated companies such as 2bookaholiday are so poor I have complained to ABTA who can enforce penalties and I am also now considering legal action. I am owed £600 from when Kiss Airlines ceased trading in August last year.

15th February 2011. I have just spoken to Hays Travel for the 100th time and today I am assured customers affected by the Goldtrail collapse will now be refunded by HAYS Travel (Not CAA) or Insurance companies involved. Booked though Hays Travel for a Gold Trail holiday, Gold trail went bust before I flew.

Hays Travel took over 4 months to send the paperwork to the CAA and I still have not heard a word about my refund over 6 months after the event.

Our holiday was cancelled due to the collapse of Goldtrail and although I returned my form immediately (received by Hays 26th July) I have still had no indication as to when I will be receiving a refund for my flight costs. I've been advised that the claim was sent to CAA on 8th Dec but been rejected. No-one on the helpline can tell me what was happening with my claim between 26th July and 8th December or why the claim was rejected. I wouldnt be surprised if you work for haystravel compered to the other reviews. I find it hard to believe that all the other reviews are wrong and that you are the only one that seemed to give hays a five star rating. I dont trust your review.

GOD HELP US!!!!! I do not think we will see our money again. I have written a letter of complaint to Hays needless to say no reply or acknowledgment. Hays Travel is a joke. Everytime we email them we get the same copy-and-paste reply. Read on ttc website that there are still 8,000 of 17,000 refunds to process which they hope to do before Christmas! More lies I suspect. I have had no indication from them despite several attempts to contact them as to whether they have received or are processing my claim when I was told when rebooking our holiday we would receive our refund within 12 weeks! Hays claim CAA are not refunding on Hays Travel claims but when contacting the CAA they say they have arranged with Hays Travel to refund claimants. But what really makes me mad is that they sold us a the holiday in the first place just 2 days before Goldtrail went bust- which we now know was common knowledge in the travel industry. I hope the MD does have to dig to the depths of his pockets to refund us as a lesson to run a business with integrity and ethics. I hope karma bites him in the ass.

Unfortunately, the Administration Department of Hays Travel Ltd is shambolic and, by all accounts, they haven't issued ATOL receipts for their bookings with Gold Trail Holidays. From what I can gather the CAA is refusing to refund Hays Travel Ltd clients because of this mistake/error and, hence, the Company is having to fork out from its' own resources. I have heard that the MD ( John Hays )is paying from his own pocket ( how true this is I don't know ), but if it is true then the Supplier Failure Cover Insurance they charge for is quite obviously invalid.

Booked a 2 week holiday to Majorca with teletext holidays, dealt with by Hays travel. cost me £458 for transfers, 2 weeks all inclusive, which i thought was very cheap compared to some holidays, managed to get the deposit dropped down from £380 to £178 as i was skint but wanted to book the holiday at the time. Didn't even notify us about tour op going bust, been promised a refund seven times over the last seven weeks, didn't tell us we were covered by their own insurance. We are still fighting for a refund. We have used Hays for the past ten years..... much the same as us.. no joy from so called customer services... we were caught in goldtrail collapse in july.. told on 26th july refund for hotel and transfer would be in next 7 day still no sign of it... they still have not passed my flight claim form to the CAA i cannot get to talk to anyone as i am told the department dealing with it does not take calls from customers and customer service just fob me off with 'you will hear from us'.. i somehow doubt i will see any of my money again... and will def not be going anywhere near hays in the future.

Got really good quote and had several queries about flights/rooms/board etc -called back and they promised to find out answers and call me back asap - still waiting for them to call me.

I decided to call them back (several times) and the details given on the initial quote were changed ie. no sea view room available, no family room available, increased cost, changed dates depending on who I spoke to. I was made to feel like I had got everything wrong.

I would check that your application for refund has been passed on to CAA if i were you.
<br/>We were in exactly the same position with Goldtrail going bust - as you say, not Hays fault - just our bad luck.
<br/>We booked a new holiday with them, paid for it - ouch, expecting Hays to process our claim efficiently - we had sent them our form 2 days after Goldtrail went bump!
<br/>Got home after holiday - checked with the CAA - they hadnt received it!
<br/>Checked with Hays - they hadnt sent it, even though they confirmed they had received it on 21st July (7weeks ago).
<br/>After various (ignored) emails - finally got to speak to a nice lady called Catherine who confirmed that ours was being sent to ATOL this week - now nearly 8 weeks after our application.
<br/>Really poor customer service - i am now paying interest on this &pound;4k.
<br/>I know that ATOL may take a while to refund - that is out of my hands - but i do expect the travel company to do what they are supposed to do efficiently - so we rae now 2 months dpwn the line and my refund is nowhere near coming from ATOL.
