“worst group ever”

this must be the worst holiday group ever, shall never yous loveholidays or hays again there only intrest is getting your money, once your deposits paid they have no intrest in you, we booked only found out flight date had changed by looking at thomas cooks web site, our flight had been put back into the following week, loveholidays said if you dont like it cancel or if you want to fly the week we booked it would cost us £200 extra… Read Full Review

“Rubbish, unprofessional and full of lies ”

No hotel room available upon arrival. Had to be relocated from chosen resort to another resort with no local amenities and a 25 minute bus ride to the beach. If you are foolish to book with Hays Travel...... BE AWARE Before you accept anything they say or do check & double check what you are booking. I thought I was booking an All Inclusive PACKAGE HOLIDAY to The Hotel Fereniki in Crete. in fact what they sold me was a holiday made up of separate components, this is what's known in the trade as a a DYNAMIC PACKAGE HOLIDAY this effectively is NOT covered by the Package Holiday Legislation!!!! This company is nothing leas than painful to do business with. They changed the balance due date which was significantly different to the one which had been sent to me at point of booking. I put up a fight on this as they had been nothing but unhelpful the whole way through. Booked a holiday in August to Kefalonia in a 4 star all inclusive. “Broken promises/contract”

Hays took over a holiday booking from another company and assured us that everything would be the same. No details arrived, (flights or holiday).Again told all was well. This went on for several weeks.Final payment demand arrived. I refused to pay until I received confirmation in writing that all was in place. “Terrible, Dreadful Company - PLEASE PLEASE AVOID!!”

Please do not use this travel company, they are con-artists, booked a holiday through them and when I realised they had booked me into the wrong hotel one month before the date of travel. We booked a 4 star all inclusive holiday in Rhodes with Hays travel in June 2012, agreeing to stay in the 3 star "annexe" saving £300, but still having access to all the facilities. The above review is 100% true as we experienced the same fate,with the same hotel, at virtually the same time. The thing he left out was the free air conditioning which was free at the cost of £110. So far the hotel told us that the travel agent had misrepresented them, hays told us that they couldn't be held responsible for the information they got off the holiday comany(hays is only an agent.) and the holiday company told us that they cant be held responsible that the information they get off the hotel. All we know is that hays took our money, and that even getting a sorry is proving very difficult, the same as hays getting anymore money from us is going to be, as this is the second time that hays has badly let us down.(even sorry would be nice).

Finally had a phone call accepting responsibility which eventually resulted in a refund of £200 transferred into my bank account.
No explanation verbal or in writing for the change of heart.
Assume it was our presence on this website!

I don't normally write reviews but this one came in top of the pile for bad experiences and definitely warrants it. The first impressions having booked the holiday were good with quick e-mail follow up. From then on it goes downhill. Not all the paperwork arrives. The hotel description is not 100% accurate and with airline, hotel ownership and transfer agents all different third parties with no apparent process management from Hays you trust to luck that everything works. ditto, went with them to vegas & LA and the same as you , no transfer when we got to LA but guess what same as you my fault not theirs & it cost us $230 they said they had sent us vouchers by e.mail but nothing came my way. They are very good at getting out of complaints perhaps they run courses in it (chaired by Dick Turpin), they have a plaster for every sore. If anyone else reads this please dont use Hays Travel.

“Hotel was completely mis-sold to me.”

We saw the Best Negresco in Cap Salou advertised on the Hays website. It looked nice right on the waters edge with completely uninterrupted views of the sea for which we paid extra. When we got there were were told we were in the hotel opposite (The best Negresco 2). They claimed it was a complex but the reality was just another hotel over the road for the overspill of guests. I have wriiten emailed and telephoned Hays Travel consistently since my accident in resort over 8 months ago and todate I have not received any reply. Hays agree that they should reply within a maximum of 52 days and can not state why they have not even though they agree they have received all my documentation. Erm why is it hays or Thomas cooks fault you had an accident,why are you writing to either,if you have a complaint then state what it is,ie bad hotel,no transfer etc,these would be there fault,not an accident,if accident was caused by faulty equipment in hotel then that would be the hotels fault and you or your insurance company would have to contact hotel,so sorry you dont make sense because you have not stated your complaint
