“Massage was the most relaxing”

★★★★★

written by Alaniw77 on 02/06/2019

The best holiday we've had there topped off very nicely with a lovely massage from tiffs massage (near the pool) pressure was perfect and tiff completed a patch test 24 hours before booking. She put me at immediate ease and I throughly enjoyed my peaceful massage at a bargain price to.

“Never again. ”

★★☆☆☆

written by Messiahp140 on 17/08/2018

The caravan we stayed in was great, we rented it privately and it was well stocked with every thing we needed although the beds were terrible...very uncomfortable. The complex was not so good. Swimming pool was dirty and 1 of the pools was really cold. The toilets behind the slot machines were dirty...no loo roll or soap and floors wet. We didn't venture into the entertainment room so can't comment on that. The shop was ok although they could have d one with more than one cashier. The restaurant food was ok but nothing special and they didn't take cards so had to search for cash machine.

“Worst park we've ever stayed at! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ClaireEddie on 21/08/2016

We are going home today can't stay a minute longer! Where do I start The caravan was covered in bird poo even on the inside of the Windows the beds have coils coming through the mattress and glasses cups and cutlery were dirty In the restaurant the floor was so minging you stuck to it, tables were covered with dirty plates and glasses. Food on menu unavailable drinks flat and staff didn't have a clue unhelpful and rude Showbar had 2 people serving and a que that took 45 mins to get a drink once again staff were rude Toilets in complex were disgusting unclean and unchecked toilet roll urine and worse on the floor. My son slipped on urune and now has a black chin! I managed to offend a member of staff by taking pictures of the state of the ladies and by magic half an hour later they had been cleaned up for the first time in 3 days! Not a lot more to say apart from the swimming pool changing rooms have exactly the same standard and stink of urine Yuk yuk yuk so glad I'm going home If you want a holiday avoid this place at all costs!

“great holiday park with all the facilities you need.”

★★★★★

written by Mark_26 on 13/05/2016

I stayed here for 4 nights in a silver caravan with my partner,my sister & her partner & their 3yr old son.the caravan was clean & had everything we needed.there is lots of things to do on the site( swimming, arcades, park, sports court's,go cart hire & much more. There is a small shop on site that sells all sorts of gifts & beach goods & anything else you could need.the swimming pools are very clean & all the staff & life guards were very friendly.you can walk to the beach which is just across the road from the park in about 5 minutes.this was the first time my nephew has been on holiday & he thought it was absolutely brilliant.I would recommend this park to everyone. It's a great park & very family friendly with activities for all ages. I will certainly be back again but next time for longer :)

“Gold plus caravan was filthy, dirty dishes and...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sherine.thompson on 14/07/2014

I don't normally complain but this place was unreal, the filth was outrageous, there was a frying pan filled with dirty fat in the oven, there was cracked glasses in the cupboard, there was a big green dirty sponge in the shower, there was a dirty t-shirt on the steps there was a kids sword I. Top of the cupboards with an inch full of dust covering it, the caravan was covered in seagull poo to the state that you couldn't see out the window properly, the cooker didn't work so I had to call the maintenance men and after they had fixed the oven whilst I was out my sons iPhone 4s went missing, there was a constant drip in the caravan near where you sleep so had no sleep then at 7:45am the gardeners come around cutting the grass with there grass trimmers really loudly smashing them on the caravan, after complaining about 10 time via email and phone I finally got an answer from a manager called Jason who said that he is sticking to the original decision and doing nothing yet thus was the first I had heard of any decision ? His customer service skills are disgusting and I only stayed there as my friend has purchased a caravan on the site and asked me to come and stay to see if I wanted to buy one, I'm glad I seen the way they treat people before I spent my money on this site, I had a lucky escape thank god, I also got a call from a lady basically accusing me of lying about the phone because she was talking to me on my number, it was my other phone which my son uses! Outrageous, I've never in my life been treated so bad by a company and shocked that they still have jobs!

“See you again--soon!”

★★★★☆

written by wetwoandpip on 03/07/2013

Just back from Holiday. Found the site was well run and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Have to recommend the girls in reception! My daughter and I are both disabled and we developed a fault on our car. Without prompting we were handed the address of a local garage, which saved our holiday. Many thanks girls!! Here at least we had peace and quiet if we wanted it,with no regimentation. Shop was good and prices reasonable. We took our dog, so a Bronze van was our only option. A little cramped, but still very enjoyable. We will be returning next year---and if possible LATER this year also. Thanks, folks---see you again soon. PS The dog loved it too!

“don't believe the bad reviews!!!!!”

★★★★☆

written by Joanneandpaul on 02/07/2013

Just got back from a long weekend at Camber Sands park resort. I read the reviews the day before we left and I was debating wether to go ahead as it was for our daughter's 8th birthday. However we went ahead and decided to make our own minds up. It was myself my Husband our daughter and my nan and we all loved it deeply. We had a fabulous time the caravans where clean tidy and fully equipt with appliances etc. My daughter was made a fuss of by the friendly staff and other holiday makers. The 1 bad thing is the chip shop there it's not nice it's over cooked and cold and that's why i gave 4 stars but the boathouse bar and restaurant made up for that As it was perfect every time! There's plenty for the while family to do there and I would recommend it to family and friends and I'd also Go again. Don't believe the bad reviews there false. It's fun it's clean the staff are friendly and it makes a perfect getaway

“Happy in the end”

★★★☆☆

written by on 03/11/2012

We arrived last Saturday, but on entry to our 'gold plus' caravan, were immediately disappointed. The carpet had dark 'oil' stains on it, the bedrooms were tiny and the master one only had a double wardrobe and no other storage (apart from a little shelf under a mirror). There were no hooks in the bathroom to hang up dressing gowns/towels, etc and the double duvet cover didn't appear to fit the duvet - which wasn't big enough to fully cover the bed anyway! The furniture was standard fitted 'caravan' furniture ie. benches. On the plus side, the van was clean and there were 2 toilets! We paid over £500 for this holiday and had previously stayed in a van such as this, for a £38 Sun holiday. On Sunday I visited reception to complain, but was told to return the following day to talk to the manager. My daughter-in-law and myself went on the Monday morning to see the manager - although she didn't actually see us. She was clearly in the back office, but kept sending the young receptionist back and forth to ask us questions and then the receptionist told us that the manager was in a meeting! However, a deputy sat down with us and wrote down all our grievances. She took our mobile number and said the manager would ring us if it was possible to move vans. She did ring us and told us to pack our cases as she'd found us another van to move to. As soon as we moved to the new van, we were absolutely delighted with it. It was just as we'd expected to have for the money we'd paid, with gold plus standard furnishings and space. We were very comfortable for the remainder of our trip. We were very disappointed on our first two nights that we weren't able to go to the Show Bar, as an outside dance competition was taking place there. Nobody had been told about this when they booked and everybody we spoke to were up in arms about it (especially those people who were only there for the weekend). Had we known about this, we wouldn't have gone to that camp. We all had to go into the Boathouse pub for the childrens entertainment, etc, which wasn't very good at all. Another little story is, when we were waiting to check-in on the Saturday we took part in the lunchtime quiz, which we won, scoring 18/20. On the Thursday lunchtime we decided to join in the quiz again, but imagine our amusement when we discovered that it was the exact same quiz as we had won on the Saturday! Needless to say, we won again, but this time scoring 20/20. We won a mug for our efforts, as apparently, no one had ever scored top marks before (which is surprising, if the quiz questions are the same)!! After a shaky start, we ended up enjoying our stay (despite the rainy weather - which can't be blamed on Camber Sands Park Resorts!)

“staying in a caravan”

written by Alant100154 on 13/09/2012

On arrival the caravan that I was issued was dirty curtains hanging down and window catches broken, second van had previously had a leak and the smell of damp in the mornings was unbearable came home a day early would not go back as the visit was to look at site with intentions to buy static van for holidays, facilities were very good shame about the let down with the caravan.

“Do not recomend this park to anyone!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 03/08/2012

I arrived at camber sands last week on arrival the camp was packed and over crowded , I walked into reception as I had to wait at least 10 mins for someone behind reception to even look at me as she was too busy reading a magazine. My husband was m getting annoyed at this point and had to raise his voice to get her to look . She was very rude and grumpy not smiley or welcoming. She finally gave us the keys to our caravan. On the way up to check in there were "staff" on buggies going in front of our car pulling out in front of us looking miserable . We found our caravan as we opened the door and stepped in there was a horrible smell like sewige. The carivan was filthy table had not been clean bed sheets clearly wernt big enougth for the bed and dirty and smelled tap didn't work kept dripping bed very uncomfortable toilet had stains down it sink had marks over it and the shower had 5 hairs in it and full of sand. And was not hovered properly something seriously needs to be done as the accommodation clearly have no clue bin liners left out side which corse sea gulls and dog hairs and rubbish over caravan. I stongly DO NOT RECOMEND THIS DUMP IT'S A " with rude staff who do not help out I believe this park should be shut down . No one in their right mind should come h we left camber sands ayer 3 hours of being there lovely staff in winchelsea highly recomend it Over never go to camber sands waste of money and to sum it up. FILTHY CAMP RUDE STAFF CLOSE IT DOWN.

“Absolutely awful!!!!!!!!!!!”

★★☆☆☆

written by Mags58 on 14/07/2012

We went for a weekend in June and you would have thought activites would be scheduled then as it was term time but you would be as wrong as we were. All activities that were available were badly organised and the pool was not suitable to swim in and the rapids were not working the entire time we were there. I would avoid this camp like the plague. There was nothing for our two 11 year olds to do apart from play pool and feed slot machines.

“last resorts, camber”

relatives of mine owned a caravan there and it was a concentration camp. in the 4 or so years they were there, they were elderly and the sales team harassed them to upgrade constantly.the upkeep was poor there is no investment and they completely rip off their customers. they had a salesman who was on crimewatch for assaulting women, a member of staff who attacked another with a weapon and truly is a hellhole polished to look like a respectable establishment 95% of owners are disgruntled but have a massive asset that they are tied to. avoid at all costs. ps beautiful beach though.

written by on 02/04/2011

i recently stayed at camber sands holiday park, with my boyfriend and 7yr old 4 yr old and 6 month old, we up graded to a silver moblie home it was so nice, sofa and armchairs, carpet, radiators a flat screen tv with built in dvd player, it was clean and great value for money as we got the entertainment passes for free and we cancelled the linen but we got some anyway which was a bonus, the restaurant did a great choice in food, was all cooked properly and the kids like it too. entertainment was a bit repetative but it was the end of march when we went. the kids loved the arcade, my 4 yr old would just sit on the bikes n car game for ages, no money needed, and my 7 yr old played the 2p games for a while and joined in with the kids games. only problems is how fast n dangerour the locals drive and overtake everyone driving at a normal safe speed, e.g 50mph. would definetly go again, the pool was so clean and the changing rooms cleaned so regurlaly is was so nice to feel looked after. great site awesome staff keep it up

“PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I...”

★★★★☆

written by on 13/01/2011

PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I went on holiday to Camber Sands in 2009 and again for a week in aug 2010 and i must say i had a lovely time. After reading reviews on this website i was really worried as i have three children aged 3,5 and 7 and didnt want them going without 'decent entertianment' which i can say was not the case. it was even nice to see some old faces as a few of the same entertainers were still there from the previous year, bolied egg, kb and zoe.

The Entertainment programme stated that the under 5s club was an activity for child and parent which i really didnt mind, the entertainer explained why they werent allowed to get involved and as a nursery nurse myself i comletely understood. the club was very basic with puzzles, dressing up clothes and a few other bits but it would be just the same if at a playschool.
the under 5's disco was a basic disco, one of the enterianers played music aimed for younger children whilst another two sold bingo tickets. my children loved chasing the around after the lights. throughout the disco someone would remind us that there would be more entertainment for the children after bingo.

the 'sparky krew club' which is for children over 5 was excellent, everyday there was a different activity and another chance for children to win certificate. my yougest obviously wasnt allowed to join in but he was happy sat with mummy and daddy colouring in with the paper the entertainment girls gave us, he even got a certificate at the end of the club just like his older siblings. we only went to the morning activties as we went out during the afternoons.
on one of the afternoons they had a special caberate caled streetball extreme which was absolutly fantastic! all the children and ecspeically my husbound loved it. on the sunday afternoon sparky sparkle and naarky all came to say hello and have photos and autographs done, this was followed by a football tournament and a quiz.
my children also went to a special sparky breakfast which was the best breakfast i have been to by far. sparky stayed throughout the whole thing and the atmosphere was brillaint. the children all went away with a special sparky balloon.

the childrens evening entertainment was always enjoyable, there was either a sparky show on or childrens fun and games. my 3yr old was even choosen during a game of old macdonald typical of him to chose a tiger haha.

people have complained the same people sang and dance throughout the week, it states in the brouchure that camber sands has a resident band! meaning it was obvious the same people were going to be on stage, but i can say the band was no where near as good as the year before, the main female singer sounded more like she was screaming then singing. the teamstar shows were the best i have seen in a long time and you could tell the team were very close and worked well together.
the only bad thing i can say about the entertainment is one of the girls were always down the local pub during afternoons drinking. i kept my children away from her.

the other aspects of the holiday were ok, the bar was always busy and they seemed understaffed the food also wasnt always warm but we were happy to eat in or at the pub down the road from the park. the complex manager was non exsistant apart from a couple of rear moments. my husbound asked to speak to him at one point and was dismissed very rudly as he had only just got in!

boild egg and kb (who was incharge when egg was off) run a fantastic team and i hope to see them at camber again this year.
