“My son took out his first car policy at a cost of...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Prebro13 on 15/03/2024

My son took out his first car policy at a cost of £1940.00 when he pasted his test they cancelled the policy and had no explanation at all and even charged him £35 cancellation fee ???? she was the most horrible sarcastic woman ever, Imy family have banked with Lloyds for many years this will change next week! I strongly advise anyone thinking about a policy with these not to do it ! Very expensive mistake I wished we had read the reviews

“50% Price Increase”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Ramseyhx432 on 09/01/2024

Just had my renewal quote through for the end of Jan. up by nearly 50% for absolutely no discernible reason, never made a claim or anything. Basically just hoping that you don’t notice and it auto renews. Disgusting way to treat customers. I’m sick of hearing from companies about how they’re there for their customers but keep squeezing prices up and up and up. You can’t tell me that providing this service costs 50% more than it did one year ago, especially for me, a driver who has never made a claim in the 15 years that I’ve had a licence. A really sneaky and underhanded attempt to rinse money out of customers by hiding the renewal offer as a message on the account rather than just sending it directly via email.

“Keep well clear..shocking”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lennon01 on 03/04/2023

Within 48 hrs 3 rd party admitted full liability… offered to fix car etc..biggest regret no accepting. I’ve spoken wit Lloyds Carpenters Enterprise Conveyor or multiples of them. Hours on the phone. Passed from pillar to post. Shocking way to treat customers. Now my Insurance docs say I’m at fault. Despite confirmation from all that it’s non fault. There is no concept of customer service. A voice on the phone ( eventually) …and NO HELP . The worst service I’ve had from ANYBODY. And that’s a very low bar. Avoid at all cost…for your sanity READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY.

Loladog14's Response to Lennon01's Review

Written on: 12/04/2024

I could have written this review myself!! Absolutely shocking service, hours on the the phone passed from piller to post, dealt with multiple companies all working on behalf of lloyds on behalf of someone else. No accountability, no responsibility taken and no resolution to my claim despite third party accepting full liability. Horrendous service and so stressful. Will never take out insurance with them again!!

“DO NOT USE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/01/2023

I cancelled my vehicle insurance with Lloyd's because I sold my car and was moving back to London so no longer needed it. They sent me emails to confirm cancellation and all looked good. I move home and go on holiday the next day and next thing I know when I returned to London is receiving a debt collection letter that I owe these incompetent amateurs £12.86 which I did not even know about... They didn't even send me an email about this balance as I would have seen it. Now I'm worried my credit has been affected just cause they decided they wanted money I did not know I owed them during the Xmas holidays..... !!! Buying a home later this year and after this I'm definitely not going to Lloyd's for my mortgage!

“Avoid at all cost. It automatically renews without consent”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Alvarado384 on 13/01/2023

Been a customer for a year. I did not sign up for automatic renewal but it did anyway & continued taking my direct debit . When I discovered this & rang them to say that I already have another insurance, which is a lot cheaper & more reputable, I was told that because I opened the email that they sent me, that meant that I accepted their terms of renewal although I never signed up for automatic renewal at all. I asked to speak to the supervisor & I was told that no one is available & that they would ring me later. Still waiting for that call. Please avoid this insurance at all cost.

“Lloyds let’s it customers down yet again ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 158Beasley on 10/08/2021

Lloyds ran a promotion in that for every new car insurance policy you would receive a £40 voucher after 14 days . After numerous phone calls I am still waiting 2 months later. If they cannot organise this to happen what would they do if I had to make a claim ?Not good

“loss of no claims entitlement.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by stuem on 04/11/2020

BEWARE OF LLOYS MOTOR INSURANCE. I took out a motor insurance policy with Lloyds while having 20+ years of no claims entitlement. On renewing my insurance with another company, due to an unacceptable rise in the cost of the policy, I then found their proof of no claims certificate only acknowledges 9 years. On questioning this I was informed this was company policy. This has now cost me an increased premium to insure with another company, and will no doubt cost me more in in the future. Be aware that any company requiring proof of no claims, you will only be issued with proof to a maximum 9 years NCD regardless of entitlement you may have. I will never insure with Lloyds again or recommend them in the future.

“AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Clements88 on 28/05/2020

FIRST AWFULL REVIEW EVER!!! please be aware of this company and avoid at all costs. I tried to make a claim initially but as I had and SP50 I did not make them aware of they were only willing to pay a small percentage of my claim. Which for the record I totally understood and didn’t have an issue with what so ever. I also had no issue with the increase to my further payments. What I was disgusted about was how they were only willing to pay out peanuts towards my claim but then had the audacity to back charge me the months I underpaid. I can not see how they can have it Botha ways and have their cake and eat it. Either pay out the claim and back charge me or dont pay out the claim but don’t then come back for the money. As a result I had to not only pay £1100 out of my own money for the car to be fixed but I then also had a further £228 taken as extra charges from the insurance. I feel totally loop holed and would strongly suggest you look else where for car insurance

“Lloyds Bank car Insurance”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 17/04/2020

I'm aware that Lloyds Bank Car Insurance do read some of these reviews and do their best to have them removed, On that basis this is an honest no punches pulled review. I started my Car Insurance with Lloyds Bank car Insurance on December 23rd, and paid them a deposit with my card, and took out my cover. On December the 30th The car I had insured had to be returned, and on the same day I returned the car I phoned up Lloyds Bank Car Insurance to cancel my policy. I got almost all the way through and they put the phone down on me. As I thought all had been done and because I was also dealing with family bereavements, so concentrated on that. Fast Forward 3 months and noticed that deductions were still being taken by Lloyds Car insurance from my account. I contacted Lloyds Car Insurance and they told me that I had not cancelled my insurance and they had no record of my call telling me that they record ALL their calls. They then told me to ask the garage I returned my car to whether they could send me an email confirming that the car involved was indeed returned. They then told me that the email was not adequate proof as it didnt mention the exact return date. I contacted the garage again asking them to send me an email with the exact return date on it. The garage then sent me an email with the exact date on it,which I forwarded to Lloyds Car insurance. They then mailed me back saying this was still not adequate proof, as It had been forwarded to me not direct to them, and implying that I could have modified the email to suit my needs. I then asked the garage to send it direct to Lloyds Car insurance, which they did. You wont be surprised to hear they then decided to move the goalposts yet again, and tell me the proof was not acceptable as it was not on headed note paper and/or was not in the form of a PDF. The garage explained to me that because of coronavirus they could not access headed note paper as the business was closed until they were given notice that they could open up again after lockdown.. Lloyds have been obstructive to the maximum, and seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid paying me back what they owe me. I have spoken to 7 (YES 7) different people regards this matter and everyone just shoves me on to someone else to deal with this. All I want is for them to refund me my deposit as well as all the direct debits they continued to take from me. I understand that they might want to deduct 7 days insurance from the total but based on the fact that it has taken three months to get this far I'm hoping as a goodwill gesture they might refund me everything I've paid out, but I;m not holding my breath. Stay well away from Lloyds Car Insurance unless you want months of messing about.

“Kids on commission”

★☆☆☆☆

written by stevesmithmr on 07/04/2020

I expected high quality from Lloyds Bank, and the price was good. But after a smash these kids pushed me around from department to department, trying to get out of everything. I had to argue for days just to get the courtesy car which I had paid extra for, and then they wanted it back suddenly. Then they took extra charges from my bank account. Then they made zero effort to investigate the incident, not caring about blaming me 100% so they could close the case and make their commission. Then they tried to double my premium, so I've gone elsewhere. The whole experience was like being mauled by jackals.

“No loyalty here”

★☆☆☆☆

written by johnpeskett on 22/02/2018

How the face of insurance has changed. There was a time when you could go to an insurer when you changed your car and it took five minutes to make an adjustment and they were happy to do this. Having changed my car recently for a smaller one with lower fuel consumption and less car tax I rang up my insurers, LLOYDS and asked them to change the car over for me only to be told that they couldn't do that. I would have to cancel my present insurance and start afresh. Get this though my new car was, despite being smaller in every way going to cost me more than the original one. Having gone to AVIVA for a quote they are prepared to cover the same car for nearly half the price. I have now had to cancel my LLOYDS policy at a cost of £48 and still I am saving money by going to AVIVA. We are frequently told about insurance cheats who make life very difficult for insurance companies but this works both ways. Will I ever go back to LLOYDS? Of course not! Do they care? I doubt that very much.

“Avoid at all cost”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Sophia80 on 16/12/2017

Insured a vehicle with this mob but we made a claim against a third party on another policy and Lloyd increased our premium because of that. They believe you are more at risk to have an accident again even when uou’ve Been knocked from behind by someone else. They are a bunch of robbers and can’t understand how they get away with this.

“car insurance quote”

★☆☆☆☆

written by twRay251 on 22/10/2017

I am a platinum A/C holder with Lloyds, tried to get car insurance quote online with 10% discount. Site kept saying I had entered wrong date of birth, rang call centre and passed from pillar to post with fancy irrelevant menu system, rang 4 different numbers given to me, put on hold, eventually gave up and put phone down, glad I am not insured with this company. Avoid avoid at all costs

“Administrative Rip Off”

★☆☆☆☆

written by sjk007 on 18/10/2017

Recently sold my car and had to cancel policy. Policy £160 annually and I paid it all in advance. When I went to ask to have policy cancelled after 8 months because I was selling my car I was told there would be an administrative fee, which is fair enough. However they then explained it would cost me £55 to cancel! I got £6.60 back from the policy...absolute rip off. Best to avoid Lloyds unless you know that you will not be changing anything as their admin fees are ridiculously expensive. Never made a claim with them for anything, but I can honestly claim that I can not recommend Lloyds and would be apprehensive of any of their other services.

“48 minutes of my life wasted”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 25/08/2017

My windscreen was broken by a stone thrown up by a lorry wheel. I had the glass replaced next morning and contacted the call centre, indicated in the insurance policy, to launch a claim for the new windscreen reimbursement. I was on the phone for a total of 48 minutes, spoke to and was passed on to a different agent 7 times and got absolutely nowhere with my claim. Whoever this company is, that represents Lloyds Bank, they are a total disgrace. Not one person was prepared, able or willing to take ownership of my claim enquiry. How can I progress my claim when no one is prepared to help? If I knew this was the level of customer service awaiting me, I would never have bought into Lloyds Bank Car Insurance. Disgusting.-
