“terrible delivery”

Ordered my item 12/12/18, on the 20th it had been dispatched...Today the 8/1/19 I received my item after numerous calls, emails and messages to ebuyer with terrible responses! Havent even opened the item yet and i'm writing this! hope its in one piece!!!

“Faulty Computer”

I’ve been holding on to hope that these reviews and Ebuyers customer service isn’t as bad as people say it is but unfortunately I have to confirm, it’s utterly shocking! I bought a new gaming computer on the 11th of December, arrived a day late, so arrived on the 13th. An hour into using the computer, it blue screened, and consistently blue screened until it was doing this on boot up and couldn’t get past this stage. Rang Ebuyer who arranged collection on Friday 14th. Didn’t arrive to Ebuyer till the 19th, with no notification to say it had arrived until I chased them (which I have done now consistently every day) On Monday this week, I was told there was no fault found, and because the computer was “damaged” they’d send it back to me, note the case was out of the box for no more than an hour until I realised there was a fault, not a single scratch or bit of damage on the case! I’ve asked for evidence of it working only to find that they’ve been testing a completely different computer to the one I’ve bought and have been told the “engineers” (term I use lightly) are adamant this is my return. I’ve contacted Cyberpower (manufacturer) who have also confirmed that the system in the picture and video aren’t my computer system I bought and have got the exact spec given to me in an email that matches up to my order on there system, yet somehow, they’re adamant it’s not. Unfortunately I’ve now had to raise this with Trading standards and The citizens Advice Buro as this has been absolutely shocking. I’ve left a link to the video as well as photo evidence of this shocking service! Note the pictures of the case, graphics card, water cooled cpu etc that aren’t in the video!

“Poor Customer Service”

I ordered a graphics card from this retailer, during a recent sale. They despatched it to me via Yodel. Regarded as the worst delivery company in the UK, Yodel then inevitably proceeded to lose my package at their depot, though they never actually told me this. Instead after a week of waiting I contacted Ebuyer customer support, who said they would look into the issue. Despite this it took me calling them daily for three days for any action to be taken. They said they had sent me an email, but nothing arrived from them until after I called for the third time and found out the package had been lost. Ebuyer offered to send a replacement, but then said the item was out of stock, and that I could either have a refund or a similar product that was still in stock though was a higher price, if I payed the difference. I asked for the similar item, and enquired whether I could get a similar (rather small) discount as the original item, seeing that I had bought it on a sale that was now over. They said no. Instead saying they would send it with complimentary next day delivery, which the store page for the original item said it was supposed to have had anyway. I also asked if the item could be delivered by someone other than Yodel, they said no to that too. Now just wanting my item, I asked them to send it. I then got a reply telling me that in cases where a delivery company has lost the item they can only replace with the exact model, and that since this was out of stock my order was now cancelled. I was not impressed. So to summarise, they use a terrible delivery company (Yodel) as standard, made little to no effort to compensate me for the trouble when things went wrong, and then could not even be bothered to make sure I could get an item at all, even when I was prepared to pay more money. I certainly will never be ordering from these people again, and advise that no one else does either.

“Way behind competitors - will not use again ”

Ink cartridges - Ebuyer missed ETA delivery date by >48 hours after a 5 day lead time. Issues with delivery contractor and ebuyer unable to chase. Ebuyer did not call me back to proactively chase order and update me. Thought I would try different company other than amazon but this backfired bigtime on me. Still not received goods and no idea when I will be getting my delivery yet. Ebuyer has signifcant process issues with it's supply chain and it needs to be sorted before I use again if at all.

“Ebuyer and warranties? Avoid!”

I would avoid purchasing anything from this company. If their product mentions a warranty, take this up with the manufacturer, not the retailer (Ebuyer). I purchased a power supply from Ebuyer just over a year ago. This had a 10 year warranty with EVGA, so I contacted both Ebuyer and EVGA in the same email, mentioned this and asked who would process this? Ebuyer responded that they would take care of it and look into either a refund or a replacement, when I talked to them on the phone. No mention of a proportionate refund at this point. I package the item and send it off. I get contacted by Ebuyer a few days later to state that as the product is over 6 months old I will be refunded a proportionate amount depending on how old I had it. Without telling me how much the refund would be by email or if I was happy with this, the RMA was closed. I emailed the resolution centre informing I wasn’t happy with this and if I could have the item sent back so I can deal with EVGA directly and they can keep their “refund”. I get responses from their resolution centre, emails with a few words as possible or explanations that said that this wouldn’t be possible as the refund has been processed and they wouldn’t be able to advise me further. After a few days of silence I decide to give them a call. They confirmed to me over the phone that I wasn’t asked via email if I was happy to confirm their refund and nothing further could be done as the refund had been processed. I then asked to which account? It turns out the refund wasn’t processed. I then ask due to this, can I have my item back that I paid for? They flat out refused. My item had already been shipped back to EVGA and they were unwilling to deal with this further. I had no choice at this point to accept the refund. Ebuyer never sent an email to ask if I was happy to confirm a proportionate refund. Their customer support was awful via email and left much to be desired. Please send any returns to the manufacturer! Ebuyer will mess you around and will give you as little information as possible every step of the way. Not sure I’ll be going with ebuyer again.

“Lost a customer over bad customer service and policy. ”

Ebuyer locked my out of my account for 'security reasons'. They had no issue charging my credit card in the mean time. I followed their procedure but was met with a passive aggressive e-mail from the accounts department regarding the documentation I correctly sent as per the advise of the sales team. This unnecessary drama dragged on for days and they even had the audacity to ask me for a review and even asked for a proof of address on a property I haven't lived in for years. Literally asking for the impossible. Not only have I obliged and written the review but they are going to be reported to Trading Standards. This could have easily been fixed and could have retained a loyal customer since 2010. I work in IT where customers ask for recommendations and will be sure to influence them in staying away from Ebuyer. I'll recommend their competitors instead.

“Docking Station Wrongly Supplied.”

We bought a Lenovo Lap top from EBuyer then found that we neede to install a docking station on the lap top. My wife put the details of the Lap Top into the order site and it came back with Thinkpad Onelink + Dock. On receiving the item my wife opened the box to find the connector not compatible with the Lap Top. E Buyer because we have opened the box are refusing to accept the item back. DO NOT DEAL RETURNS POLICY IS APPALLING. We now have a valuable piece of kit that is of no use at all.

“Just want your money, unfair returns policy”

Ordered a computer for next day delivery and paid extra for it. They failed to deliver it the next day. When it arrived we opened the box and realised we'd ordered the wrong model and returned it. They are now saying because we opened the box we can not return the item. I would be very wary ordering from here. The terms are very unfair. I have never heard anything like it, no other retailer I have used would refuse to refund under these circumstances. They are now sending us back an unused item that they failed to deliver on time because we opened the box. Never heard anything like it! Avoid and buy from somewhere with a fair returns policy.

Bought a TP-LINK TL-PA7010P KIT AV1000 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline Starter Kit from them. On delivery, found it didn't work. Went through trouble and expense of returning it for a refund, only to be told they don't accept returns from Business Accounts. They are sending the dam thing back to me apparently! Pointless!! After being contacted by Ebuyer Customer Services who listened to my concerns, I have been provided with a full refund.

I am putting my previous experience down as a misunderstanding which has been satisfactorily dealt with in a pleasant and caring manner.

The 3 stars is because this whole episode has cost me 2 lots of postage and inconvenience with no additional compensation to acknowledge this.

I would trade with this company in the future, but with more care.

“Abysmal "customer service", use PayPal as a weapon. ”

I bought a PC case which arrived reasonably quickly. A couple of hours later I had installed most of my components and took the protective seal off of the front of the case, only to find out that it had a manufacturing defect. I contacted ebuyer to explain the situation and asked for a replacement to be sent. Ebuyer refused, and told me that I would have to spend another two hours removing all of the components and return the entire case back to them for the sake of a piece of acrylic plastic. They reiterate this when I contacted them again. I instead made contact with the company director's office, who confirmed their policy. I promptly opened a paypal dispute as well. In the mean time I had no choice but to continue using the case as I can't do any media intensive work on my laptop alone, and also would have had no access to my client's files. After two weeks I was asked to send photographs, which I did, and eventually they promised to send a replacement part on the basis that I close the PayPal dispute. This is not acceptable, and I made that quite clear to them. The replacement part did not arrive, had been delivered to a hotel nearby and somehow managed to completely miss our building's 24 hour manned reception. I walked to the hotel and was told that it would have been delivered while someone else was on duty, and they did not know where it was. I then sent a recorded delivery letter to ebuyer outlining what had happened, and the action i would take if it was not resolved. I told them that they will need to have a qualified person remove the PC hardware and provide sufficient packaging for the return, and to arrange a courier. eBuyer in the mean time refused to do anything further, again demanding that I find suitable packaging, spend another two hours removing my PC components from the case, and being without a PC and unable to do any work. The PayPal dispute was eventually decided in my favor and I was refunded. I have advised ebuyer to send out sufficient return packaging, and to contact PayPal if they feel their decision is incorrect. In return the company has now told me that they will "take the matter further" if I do not wast another two hours dismantling the case and source return packaging. Having read through a number of online reviews and horror stories on here, it's clear that even when items are sent back eBuyer charge restocking fees, arbitrarily deduct administration costs, and generally don't want to work in line with Consumer Contract regulations. Additionally it's clear that they will use a PayPal dispute as leverage, only sending out replacements or missing parts on the basis that a PayPal dispute is closed first. They are obviously aware of the fact that once closed, a dispute can not be re-opened, and indeed in this case if I had closed the dispute it's clear the replacement part would never have reached me anyway. I am in the process of collating a number of complaints about ebuyer's selling practices for East Riding Trading Standards. I advise anyone else who has experienced similar issues to add their complaint to a growing list of unhappy consumers.

“will never order from thsi company again”

I ordered an item, changed my address at checkout which is the only place and time it can be changed and they still sent it to my old address. Useless customer service hopeless website and total incompetent company. I for one will never buy another thing from them and would advise anyone considering it to go elsewhere. “Customer service RUBBISH”

Ebuyer's return system is a joke asking you to call them???? what is that all about?? I do not have the time to call you at YOUR convenience. You need to understand the law in regards to returns distance selling i only have to inform you be it in writing or any other means. “Tricked out of £30”

“Ebuyer Beware”

Have had nothing but a nightmare dealing with ebuyer. I will try and keep the story as short as possible. I won a television as part of the carling pay per inch. You basically paid per inch, it was a 65" 4k Samsung curved television. When it came the TV is stunning but came with problems pretty quickly. Like terrible screen bleed, lagging pictures on scene changes and a remote sensor that works when it feels like. So I dealt with Samsung originally as I didn't want to lose my telly that I won. They replaced the screen twice, the mainboard twice, hdmi board once and the infa-red sensor has also been replaced. Samsung agreed the TV was a right off after 3 visits. They give you what is called a uplift code which I had to give to ebuyer. This is where all the problems started with ebuyer. I've been going backwards and forwards trying to get my replacement. They are swapping for the exact same TV and I've just got a feeling that the same problems are going to arise. They wanted me to parcel a 65" television up and if it get damaged in transit I'm responsible. There is nothing I can get to parcel this thing up. Its massive, so around 3-4 weeks ago they agreed to do an onsite swap. Which to me was the best thing to do. I'm on over 5 weeks worth of waiting since I gave them the uplift number and still nothing. Its the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with.

“Don't use them if you are a business customer!”

To get VAT invoices eBuyer told us we needed to switch to a business account as they would only ever give us a total of 3 VAT invoices and then we would need to manually ask for one each time! So we switched and bought goods for personal use on said account. We RMA'd an item which was no use to us as it was very poorly described. They accepted the RMA but once returned told us because we had opened the item we couldn't actually return it even if it was no use to us. How you can determine if an item is any use to you without opening it is anyone's guess? In short apparently business customers can't open items and return them. Consumer customers can. So I'd say two rules broken there for eBuyer. Not giving VAT invoices and not accepting returned good that have been opened. In short don't use them if you are a business as you can never return anything! Other companies we deal with do not operate this way neither does our own company. Shocking.

“Wrong keyboard sent”

Ordered a keyboard off ebuyer and was sent the rong one.The code for the key board we ordered on there web site did not match the code they had at the wearhouse.After 3 weeks of arguing about them exchnging for the right one.They said yesterday we have to return it at out expence and oay the extra for a the one we originally ordered as they had taken the web page down that we had ordered off and replaced with another one which as correct code on and prices have gone up.Luckily we saves the old web site before they had taken it down. My son whos 15 was buying it out of his birthday money.So looks like hes stuck with a keyboard he didnt want.Will never buy from these again.

Thank you for your reply but he has now been using the keyboard for over a week as we gave up on your customer service after 2 weeks and 3 phones calls. Your customer service is a total waste of time, I phoned was total the person dealing with the problem (I will not name him on here), was busy and would phone me back, 4 days later after no phone call or even an E-mail, I phoned again and got same response. So I think Emailing you the order number wouldn't help.

“Don't risk it... I never write bad reviews either”

Spent £70 on something which didn't show up. When they got back to me they said because it was after 7 days they couldn't do anything. No skin of their teeth I guess that's why they don't care. Go somewhere who won't mess up your delivery and who will deal with orders that haven't arrived in a proper fashion. I've never had this problem with another company so I'm not happy. I'm sure a lot of peoples experience has been fine but if you don't want to risk wasting money and getting frustrated go with someone else.

Hi yeah the order number is 23378899. Originally I replied to the item dispatched email and then when no one replied I checked the email over again and it said that no one would receive it if I replied to it but it wasn't very clear and hence I didn't do it within 7 dats. And I just thought delivery was taking a little longer than usual anyway, 7 days seems a bit tight.

“All business customers should avoid”

I have been a customer of Ebuyer for many years. I have been luck enough never to need customer service before. I purchased an MSI laptop from them yesterday. I did not realise that I was buying as a business user. I have checked the laptop and whilst not faulty the quality is very poor and not as advertised. The screen is washed out and the sound is feeble. Not what you would expect from a gaming laptop. I requested a refund only to be told that as I had purchased as a business user I had no cusomer rights and I would not be refunded. After much arguing I was told they would take it back but I would have to pay a £120 restocking fee! I mentioned taking them to court and they just couldn't care less. Do NOT buy as a business user and any problems just issue them with a CCJ. Better still AVOID as their customer service is appaling.

“Need for change?”

I am sick of people offering good reviews for eBuyer and forgiving them for the failings of their courier (in particular Yodel). Don't people realise that the seller elects to continue to use said shipping partner and should be held 100% accountable. Furthermore, I think they are under a moral obligation to let customers know which courier is being used *before* purchase. I for one - would never buy anything where delivery was time critical if the partner is Yodel. This 'covert' relationship is further evidence that it is eBuyer who don't care. Yet again I have been let down on a premium Saturday delivery... it goes without saying of course, that the eBuyer issued Yodel tracking number was not recognised - so I still needed to stay in until 10:00pm for a delivery which I was almost certain would not arrive from the moment I was advised - after purchase - that Yodel would be involved. eBuyer - change your ways! Do the decent thing and advertise the name of your shipper!
