“Surprised by how great our trip was!!”

We booked Canjet Vacations as it was the least expensive option for the resort that we wanted to stay at ... by about $200 per person. I was irritated a month after our booking as they changed from a non stop flight to a stopover for our flight home and I couldn't believe they could do this ... to my surprise, it was no big deal and the stopover was quick and we even landed ahead of schedule at our final destination. All the staff were amazing - especially considering there was an issue with the future of the airline the week we were travelling. Check in was super fast and the tour operators met us in Punta Cana and were amazing - it almost felt like there were 3 too many people to guide you to the bus to take you to the resort!!! The bus was air conditioned to take you to and from the airport and spacious. When we were coming back home we had our own check in staff - if we were flying other airlines we would have had to wait for over an hour in line to check in. This was such an amazing vacation! I was so surprised by what amazing service we had on Canjet! i would definitely book our next vacation with them. We went to Punta Cana, Majestic Colonial as a family of 3 and this is our second trip to this resort and it is still as amazing as the first time we went! We will definitely go back to this resort!

“Will never book again with CanJet”

Booked an all inclusive vacation to Cancun from Toronto thru CanJet, my $200 luggage was damaged and wrapped in plastic (nothing went missing). upon arrival at the hotel, we noticed a large amount f Seagulls hanging around the pool and beach area that attacked anybody trying to eat (restaurant is open concept) also pooped everywhere. The room was dated and smelled moisty. The hotel was pretty empty with mostly local guests that looked scary, food was gross and not much variety, hotel staff didn't speak good English, had to spend 90% of the time outside of the resort, contacted CanJet representative upon arrival about our concerns and after 4 days asked us to pay $375 each (2 of us) to move hotels to a similar property, when we refused to pay, he told us to talk to CanJet Canada and they will credit us, after speaking to CanJet Canada we were told that nothing can be done, our return flight was delayed by 1 hour for no reason, be aware when you book with CanJet they tell you that CanJet has the right to change the flight time or Cancel it. We traveled to Cancun 4 times in the past with Sunwing & WestJet & never had a problem. Worst customer experience, will never fly with them again or recommend them, also they take few days to reply to your email to buy time & by then your vacation is over and your back home & they never answer their Telephone # 1-800-809-7777 or reply to your voicemail.

“Dumped at Christmas by Canjet Vacations”

Booked a Christmas in Cuba package in December 2014. Flight was scheduled for 930 am December 22. This flight never left. Instead, on December 20, about 5 pm, Canjet left a message on my home answering machine saying my flight had been rescheduled and would now depart the following morning (December 21). I was visiting family, returned to retrieve my messages on the morning of December 21, only to discover that my flight had been--rescheduled--and--had departed! Canjet did not seem to have a plan to deal with stranded passengers. Even though....it's a pretty good bet that there will be some when you change schedules on almost no notice. I phoned every few hours and was told repeatedly "we're waiting for an email from head office" or "we're waiting from head office". After wasting two precious vacation days on the phone with them, they just said, well we can't rebook you so you can just have your money back. In the end Canjet did not deliver what they sold to me. And they did not get me to my destination. My Christmas was ruined. They did offer a refund, and a $100 voucher "for your next Canjet Vacation". As if.....

“Good Flight.”

We flew with CanJet from Toronto to Cayo Coco September 12 2014, and then back from Cayo Coco to Toronto September 19th. The only complaint we would have is that the seats are crammed together, we were not comfortable. The food (we had pizza) was very good, and the staff was professional, and patient. We did have an incident while we were all boarded waiting to leave Cayo Coco that involved some type of problem with a passenger that the Cuban authorities and both pilots resolved without further problems. The pilots and crew handled it well and it didn't seem to upset them, which was my worry. Coming into Cayo Coco we had to circle the airport for almost an hour due to a thunderstorm, not the fault of the airline, then we landed safely. We DID fly in hurricane season. Other than that, the flights were on time. I would use CanJet again.

“Flight 763 Hondorus to Toronto”

Let me begin by saying that my husband and I fly frequently. Recently (March 10, 2014) we flew with CanJet for the first time. We have had various experiences but this was by far the most impressive ever. The plane was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff however were beyond what we have ever seen. They were professional, pleasant, efficient and accommodating. But also went above and beyond their duties. You see when I got on the plane I had just begun the symptoms of sun stroke. With severe stomach cramps, head ache, cold sweats, vomiting and diarrhea I was very uncomfortable. Without having to ask, the staff recognized the situation and became very concerned and accommodating. It was genuine concern and attention. I never felt I was a burden or that they were "just doing their job". They moved me to where I could be horizontal, provided a blanket, cold clothes, water, crackers, and just enough required attention. In addition they comforted my husband who was trying to manage my discomfort. I could go on and on about just how grateful we were but really words will not do it justice. We are believers in karma and know in our heart of hearts that each and everyone of these angels will have good things come their way as a result of their genuine compassion.

“Canjet is a Good Canadian airline!”

The canjet complaints posted by people are pretty dumb. Delays due to weather and mechanical stituations are for your own safety! Not being able to leave an airport during a delay is standard. In every country! Being told to put your seat up during turbulence and taking headphones off are for safety. Years ago we took a long flight fr mtl to LA during Katrina. We sat on the Tarmac until, we hope , the airline thought it safe, like 5 hours. During the flight turbulence was nuts. Overhead doors opened. Stuff flew out. But they warned us to stay alert. And we were in the last row without any food. So you learn to bring snacks. You adapt. All airlines and their emps do their best. Lucky you even got food. Ever fly air Canada? I can't believe what people complain about. We just flew cancun on canjet mtl and have not one complaint. The service was quite fine. Better than others.

“CANTJET ”

wrote this on facebook,since canjet wont admit to any mistakes,they are rude,and dont even answer my questions.They reply with lies,and try to twist things around.Flew with canjet on jan 19th 2014, from Ottawa to Cuba... here is the letter i posted to my facebook: well been holding off this story since I got back from Cuba! Now I will share my story, since canjet does not care and their reply to my concerns were brushed off.There was 17 of us all from my family on this trip, and what happened?Was not just a little thing, it was terrifying!!! On our way to Cuba, and about 30 minutes left to land in Cuba, this message came loud and clear on the speaker, that they have to do a emergency crash landing in the ocean...when that message came on?We all looked at each other, shocked faces, white as ghost, thinking, this is it,this is how I will die,along with all my other family members on the plane! One lady was crying, saying she didn't want to die, I saw a man praying,and I thought,this is it. Then thought,how can I save everyone! Was thinking about maybe I can get us all on the rubber thing that is used as a slide, and hang on until help arrives... then thought,no, once it crashes it will explode, nothing can be done. I then thought, I wish i could text my husband and boys, and grandson, tell them goodbye,etc... but my cell did not work in Cuba area! I didnt have it set up for that.Its just a simple flip phone. So after the english message went through, on came a french message, I don't understand french, but knew they were giving the same speech about the emergency crash ocean landing! My eyes filled up with tears, my sister had tears in her eyes, everyone was shocked! No employee came out to the middle aisle to say it was a joke, or a switch was pulled by accident or anything! With my current health problems, major complications from arthritis rheumatoid, and was just put on new meds to try to control it, because I was admitted twice to the hospital from major complications, ( swelling around the heart nearly killed me, and another time, my whole body swelled up so bad, I couldnt walk, or use my hands or anything, ambulance drivers had to carry me out, only thing i could do was move my head),stress is the number one cause of major flare ups, and when you get major flare ups, it can cripple you for life,or be fatal.. So canjets joke,( as the girl said, ONLY mins AFTER the emergency landing speech in both english and french, she does a small laugh, and mumbles it was a joke! ), more that half the plane did not hear here say it was a joke, because she said it very softly,you could hardly hear her! So another lady was still crying, saying she didnt want to die,everyone was in shock! One of my family members had to tell her that it was a sick sick joke! I was picturing my husbands face, my boys, and grandson's faces,one by one, thinking, I will never see them again! The plane was so quite while waiting for it to land, you could hear a pin drop! We were like robots, all hoping this plane will just land,so we can get off of it. As soon as it landed, we had to take a bus to our hotel, i dont even remember being on the bus! When we got to the hotel,we all gathered together,saying how terrified we all were,and how this just ruined our whole vacation! My brother said,ok,that was very bad, we were all still white as ghost, we had to try to get this off our minds for the trip,and made a pack to settle it with canjet when we got back. however, the first 2 days of my vacation, I was in bad shape,caused from extreme stress,and was swollen very bad! In the mornings I could hardly walk,or even lift a tea cup! And the pain? OMG, it was bad. Canjets so called sick joke, just ruined my vacation and my health,and it took over 25 yrs,with many many new meds to control it,and was just getting controlled with the new meds I was taking, then this happens, and im back to square one! With Canjet not thinking this was a big deal, and replying saying, Im sorry you were disappointed with canjet, but there is nothing they can do, they didn't even admit canjet did anything wrong! Then they say they hope I will fly with them again! Wow,was not expecting that reply! Now I may have to go on meds to get it under control fast, because the damage done to my body is permanent its not reversible! These new meds area needle everyday and cost $25,000 a month. And I was trying to hard to stay away from this medicine, and was just getting better, until canjets so called sick cruel joke! Yet, canjet does not admit to nothing. On our last day of vacation, we did nothing, because we all did not want to go back on the plane! It was a very quite nerve racking last day. On the plane, we were all quite, and all thinking the same thing,just please land!! So stressed out! my worse fears is drowning and a plane crash,and I thought that was it! I thought, they wont even have a body so ship back,because we will be eating by sharks. Can you imagine sitting on a plane,being told the pilot has to do a emergency crash landing in the ocean,and there is nothing you can do about it? So you know your going to die, along with all my family on the plane! There was 17 of us, and we will complained to canjet when we got back, and all got back the same useless and heartless letter, not even admitting to their fault! Shocking. And 5 minutes of thinking your going to die?Is like a eternity! Can you imagine if someone had a heart attack and died because of canjets stupidity? Nobody was smiling when we landed,it was because we were all in shock. We stayed in our seatbelts and hoped for the best, although knowing, we won't make it alive. Spread the story about canjet, because they won't getaway with this.It was not a small little thing, and the least they could of did,was tell everyone right away, it was NOT true. But nobody said nothing!!! People were crying, people were praying, all in shock, it was so bad! and for canjet not to even admit their fault? Is shocking to say the least! Right now,I do NOT want to ever go back on a plane again,and this is all because of canjet,I have to go now for another catscan in 2 weeks, to see the damage that was caused from extreme stress from the arthritis rheumatoid,have to get more blood work,and probably have to go on the needle I was trying so hard to avoid! All because of canjets sick, cruel joke, or as they want to claim,it was a accident! If it was a accident? canjet's employee's should of been on that speaker right away, making it loud and clear it was not true,or shout it out in the middle aisle of the plane!Now I call this company, "Can't" jet ".Cause I will never go on their airplane again. I am not the only one who suffered,whether it be emotional or physical, we all did! All of us are still shocked that canjet would do that,and then not even make a decent effort to tell everyone right away it was not true! I now know how it feels when your in a plane and ready to crash and going to die. Something I wish I never ever felt! And nobody knows how you would react until it happens to you. And to picture the plane crashing in the ocean at a high speed,was beyond terrifying! People were shocked when we all told them what happened. I googled complaints with canjet, and seen there are many many complaints from customers towards canjet. All unhappy customers,all saying the same thing, canjet does not care. It's a shame canjet can't even admit to their own mistakes! At least they can do is admit to that! So the first 2 days of vacation were spent in allot of pain and swelling,then last day was spent doing noting,not talking much, because we were all terrified of having to go back on the plane. Sure was a quite 3 1/2hr ride back, and very stressful. Their planes are very old,seats are like sitting on a 2 by 4 block of wood, not a good airline to fly with folks! What would you do if this happened to you? Your sitting there on the plane, and they say loud and clear, we are going to have a crash landing in the ocean, ( we were flying over the ocean by the way, plane was already descending, because we were going to land in less that 1/2hour ), and keep your seatbelts on? First thing, on your mind is the family you will never see again. I need to make sure canjet does not get away with this. Just need to find out how and what to do next.....we are all not letting them get away with this.I want to get the word out on this bad situation, facebook is a start! I know it's a long story, but I wanted to make sure the whole story was out there for everyone to see what canjet did.

“Worst company ever!!!!!”

I am only writing his review because I actually survived the flight. This is the worst airline possible. First my luggage was lost on our flight to Cuba for 4 days! On the flight home we were delayed 1.5 hours. An hour into the flight the pilot informed us that the pressure gauge was no longer working and we needed to decent ASAP. This was the most pain in my ears I have ever felt. People passed out from the pressure and were all screaming in pain . We made an emergency landing in Orlando and spent 2 hours on the runway before they told us we now needed to go through US customs where they proceeded to dispose of cigars anyone had purchased in Cuba as they were illegal in the United States. Then they told us we would be getting a recovery plane to pick us up 5 hours later. This was then delayed as well, Canjet refused to put us up In hotels and said if we bought our own hotel room and left the airport that we then would need to find and arrange our own way home. Finally the plane landed in Toronto and speaking to the Canjet representative he told us he would not be reimbursing us for anything and to make a complaint to head office. He gave me a number that was not in service. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and I will NEVER fly with Canjet again.

My sentiments exactly. Lied to that people would be assessed for any medical conditions that occurred due to the sudden drop in altitude. I will never fly with this airline again.

I would say that the alternative to the story would have been much worse. I have flown many, many airlines all around the world. The pilot was doing his job, and would imagine, if you read the fine print of these discount airlines, the policy would have been mentioned. Perhaps you should not book discount airlines in the future unless you know the risks.

“Terrible customer service and ruined my new luggage.”

When you travel, do NOT fly CanJet . They ruined two brand new suitcases...2 out of 5 luggages were damaged to the point they can never be used again.I mean, this was their first trip and they were fine when we left Jamaica, then we get back, and there are big tears in them, broken wheels, smashed in sides...they are unusable now and they were expensive. Then there was nobody at the CanJet counter to help us, waited for hours upon hours, had them paged, no answer, called our travel agent, called the airport.. Finally go see a rep for Air Transat who says that nothing can be done about damage like that, even though it looks like someone ran over the luggage. We have never had problems like that before and we have flown a lot, all over the world...DO NOT FLY CanJet ever! Also, the seats are uncomfortable, the flight attendants seem to not know how to run a smooth flight, they ran out of food before they got to the middle rows.

We just had a flight with Canjet. There was and hour or so delay, but I've been on other airlines and they ave delays as well. It was mechanical. Passengers complain but I would rather they don't leave and look into the mechanical and fix it for all our safety. We received great service. They gave us champagne, hot meals which were good, a bar and beverages, water and duty free. They came around many times to pick up any garbage and were always nice and friendly even when passengers kept ringing the call button. The flight attendants worked well together,so very nice to us. Remained nice and friendly even to those who gave them a hard time. Its a difficult job but they have what it takes. I understand its long hours and they didn't sit down a minute but always had a smile for us. Made our flight a great experience, enough to forget about the tight leg room.

“Our 67 year old grandmother was not accepted on the flight”

Flight 718 on 07-Jan-2014 YYZ-Santa Clara (SNU), sched departure 8:30AM Our car did not start in in the morning due to extreme wind chills from minus 30 to minus 40. Still managed to get to the airport one and hour and something before the departure. Only to experience Canjet's flight coordinator to deny boarding to our grandma with reason that the "flight is already closed and about to leave". Later on we were extremely happy to learn that the flight did not actually leave until 10:04 AM. THAN YOU VERY MUCH CANJET FOR YOUR GREAT SERVICE AND NICE EFFORT TO RUIN OLD LADY'S VACATION. JOB WELL DONE!!! We will definitely pass the word around about Canjet.

“Worst Airline Ever”

We flew a code share flight on Sunday with CanJet and it was a major nightmare from check-in desk in Ft. Lauderdale to Toronto. They were late leaving and we totally understand that but then the plane had two mechanical issues and had to be taken back to the gate and delayed us further. Then the 4 flight attendants we had were totally unprofessional and rude to the passengers and to each other. We were not happy by the treatment at all. To top it off the planes were so uncomfortable. I will never ever fly CanJet again for as long as I live. Crappy airline!

“Bad check in ”

We are 7 traveling in a group to punta Cana .they put us every one in different level 12 f14 a 13f 13 d 32b30d .very unresponsive to what the meaning of a group . Very unfriendly workers at the counter .

“Crowded , unconfortable seats”

We flew from Punta Cana to Montreal the crew was very nice tried their best to make us comfortable but was the most unconfortable flight I have ever been on, I think this is a very bad image or Air Transat to be partners with such an airline! I went to Punta Cana with Air Transat what a difference !!!!!! but unfortunately I did not pay attention to the return flight till was too late. Never Again!!!! You feel like sardines..

“some staff were rude and we were delayed 14 hours!”

I will NEVER fly with canjet again. This was my first and last trip with them.We returned yesterday from Veradero.There was only a 3 hours delay on the way to Cuba but the staff were very rude on the way to our destination.Upon returning home, our flight got delayed 3 times, a total of 14 hours with no explanation until we were decending.WE had to pay an extra 25 pesos to have a room at the resort where we could rest before spending hours at the airport while waiting for our flight to arrive to bring us home. Tired and hungry,when we finally boarded the plane, the first thing the attendants do is go around for items for us to BUY to eat instead of serving our hot meal first? Once we did get our meal they were nice enough to announce they have alcohol we could PURCHASE? After all they put us through we didn't deserve a free drink? There were other people at the airport travelling with another airline waiting for 12 hours but were given a $75.00 voucher to be used for future travel and I'm pretty sure, better service. You get what you pay for.I advise travellers to pay the extra few dollars and travel with another airline if you want peace of mind.

“Broken into luggage”

We flew from Toronto to Florida with 2 carry ons on board the CANJET flight but on the way back to Toronto they made us check them in, despite meeting the weight restrictions. I had left an engagement ring box in one of the luggages but it was locked with separate locks on the zippers. Once we landed and picked up our luggage, I found the locks on the bag with the engagement ring cut off with around the loops where the lock goes and another zipper with a lock broken into as well, all the clothes were ruffled through inside and the engagement ring box was left wide open w/o the ring on top of the stuff. Clearly this wasn't security checking the bags but someone breaking in for the ring. CanJet rep said they werent' responsible and filing a complaint did nothing. I have contacted CityTV so they could share this with the public, incase anyone else had the same thing happen. A couple travelling with us had their luggage with jewelry also broken into. Aside from that, the flight service crew were rude and had too much attitude.

“They separated parents from children under 7.”

We called Air Transat holidays and Canjet prior to leaving and were told we would not need to prebook seats as we are guaranteed to have one adult sit with 1 child so we didn't and they sat our 7 yr old and 5 yr old together while my husband and I sat 1 row up and another row up (window seats) so not even able to help them. Canjet lied and said a 7 yr old is able to sit on his own and take care of his little 5 yr old sister on a 5 hour flight. Gimme a break. They sat them with a strange man. As parents don't we tell our kids not to talk to strangers?? Canjet says this has never happened again. On the return flight I paid to get us together and luckily there were still seats together. It's not about paying but getting the same info from the customer service line as what actually happens and still I bet if you called they would say a child under 8 is NEVER separated from a parent. I wanted some changes but even after talking to a manager they don't care and we will never fly Canjet again. Planes are small, service lacks and not a great way to start a vacation with 2 kids crying as they don't get to sit near Mommy and Daddy. If you fly with them, make sure you pay the extra $70 each way so you don't start your trip miserable.

I would agree. We were travelling with family home from Puerto Plata, they booked children 5, 7 and 9 not with parents, they argued to sit together - they said sorry all booked. Big shrug, the could not have cared less. We get on the plane and the were two full rows (3+3 configuaration) directly across from each other completely empty. Where this family moved to. Bottom line - this airline is incompetent and I would avoid if at all possible. Not to mention the total disregard of having children sit beside stranger. Horrible.

I have flow with this airline at least 5 trips and have never been delayed, had fantastic accommodating staff, and meals/drink service was great. Would definitely suggest flying with this airline.

“15 1/2 hour delay”

Flew from Kelowna to Cancun Mach 3rd err... 4th. No explanation given and definitely not weather related. Very cramped seats, lousy food both directions, and the worst landing I've ever experienced in any aircraft when landing in Cancun. This was the worst of all the bad experiences I've had from charters and pre-packaged vacations. Back to flying commercial for me. Don't waste your money with these guys. At least commercial guys have other aircraft they can use if the delay is on their end and will give respectable compensation.

Has anyone experienced an airline (CanJet in particular) that didn't tell you your flight was going to make a stop? I've heard that if you're going to Puerto Plata in the DR, they'll surprise you and stop in Punta Cana. No warning, no previous emails to tell you of the flight change.
