“Mess up over Hotel Transfers”

Booked 14 days at Estival Park Hotel In La Pineda from 13/5/2014 to 27/5/2014. Then went on to book Flights for same period frtom London Southend to Barcelona, and on that same booking added two items of hold luggage. and Hotel Transfers. Although the flights were correct, they book the transfers to and from REUS airport, where on the same order had booked flight to and from Barcelona. “You lose ALL if you change or modify the booking”

Itenerary number : 538252749300 Feedback : I have booked a hotel in Sousse, Tunisia on Feb for period of 17.04-06.05.2014. This booking for fully paid by 13.04.2014. I had an accident on 13.04.2014 and requested alpharooms to cancel or move the booking forward with my written request via My Account on 14.04.2014. They replied me on 20.04.2014 (6 days later) that they can't do anything. They have not informed me that booking has been already cancelled by the hotel even I have alredy paid… Read Full Review

Hi,

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry to see that we did not reply to your modification e-mail before you were due to travel. I can see that we received your e-mail on the 14th May, which unfortunately meant that your request to change your booking fell within 7 days of travelling. We are unable to modify bookings without charges within 7 days of travel.

I can see that we tried our best to reinstate your booking with the Travel Provider and the hotel but unfortunately after keeping your booking live for 2 days from the date you were due to arrive, they then had to cancel it as a no-show. Please be assured that we have tried our best to attain a refund for you but unfortunately the Travel Provider was unable to confirm this with the hotel and the charge remains at 100%.

For urgent queries we would advise our customers to call us. We are very busy at the moment however our Customer Service team are working hard to answer all queries as efficiently as they can.

Once again, please accept my sincere apologies that we are not able to help you further in this matter.

“Can not get talking to a person one hour waiting on hold”

I have been trying to get by booking sorted out alpha rooms went and changed it before asking me they will not respond to any of my e mails, pm on fb ! I have paid them over three thousand euro and my booking is all messed up I am now booked into a different hotel than the rest of my family! So disappointed and would not ever deal with them again! Having checked our Facebook account I can see that your PM has been replied to and a Customer Service advisor has been in touch via telephone to discuss your booking with you. I can see that you've left us a new message so please be assured that this will be picked up and replied to by our Customer Service department in due course.

Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience or frustration caused by your booking being amended. Unfortunately the hotel can not permit the number of guests in the room type you have booked, which is why your booking has been amended.

I hane spoke to one of alpha rooms staff and they are trying to sort this mess because of alpha amending my booking without consulting me first we are now booked into a different hotel than the rest of my family in the complex which means we can not even have our meals with them!!! If alpha had consulted me first all we would of had to do is move the baby to the double room which would have been no bother so it's up to you to sort this out I booked this holiday in March now we are traveling in three weeks!! I expect alpha rooms to pay any extra to sort out their mistake and let us have the hotel we booked in March, I will keep this review of any progress

I am very sorry to hear that we were unable to confirm your booking request with our Travel Provider. Unfortunately if the Travel Provider does not have the availability to fulfil the booking request then as per our Agency Terms of Business we will cancel the booking request and issue a full refund for any monies paid.

Please also accept my apologies for our current telephone queue times. Our Customer Service department are very busy due to seasonal demand but they are working hard to answer every query as efficiently as they can.

“Terrible to try and contact with problem”

The booking went smoothly and the final payment went smoothly. But I needed to contact them about my documents, after a 35 min wait I managed to speak with an advisor who was helpful. However, one of the names on the flight invoice was incorrect so I decided to email them, after 7 days I had no reply. I am also having great difficulty in contacting alpharooms and just want to pay my balance. I need this sorted by 15/5 but cant pay online as there is no option to do so and customer service is telling me to wait 35 minutes on hold!!! Not convenient while looking after my one year old.
ive sent messages via facebook, alpharooms site and email but no reply. Best I send a letter 1st class with proof of postage and recorded delivery.

Although in the end I didn't travel with them, they handled my booking and subsequent issues in a professional manner. Their helpdesk ticket system for support requests either needs an overhaul to provide ticket ownership, or they need to ensure existing tickets are looked at promptly - waiting 2 or 3 weeks for replies can be too long.
