We travelled up on the Friday morning to discover that our room in the Alton Towers hotel wasnt ready for us, considering it was lunch time and we had been told it would be ready at 10am. We had been up since 5.30am to travel there (its a 4hour drive) so we wanted to get changed and freshen up, but we were told to leave our bags with the porters and they would be delivered to our room. We got to the theme park to discover that Thirteen was shut, and wouldnt re-open that day. Not very impressed… Read Full Review

I found the tickets very expensive. Luckily we had half price vouchers which meant £19 each but despite this we only managed to get on 5 rides. Air broke down after us queueing for almost 40 minutes. We then waited over 2 hours for 13 as that also broke down twice during the waiting period. Although the rides are great (when you eventually get on them) you spend the majority of the day queueing. Also the fact that the rides are so far apart you spend alot of time walking and/or getting… Read Full Review

Have been to Alton Towers for many years now but today was poor. Firstly if it hadn't been for tesco club card, the price of a ticket would have been £38 for one adult and £25 for a child which are ridiculous prices. Secondly the food costs a fortune and for a fast track ticket it is £14 for 1 ride or something like £40 for every ride which on top of the entrance fee, also it is £5 to park at the park which is a con when your paying a lot of money to get in. Finally I have to complain about the… Read Full Review

Another day of power cuts at Faulty Towers (I mean Alton Towers). Managed two rides all day! What a waste of time, money and effort. We were offered free tickets ... who's going to pay for other costs incurred during our day out and IF we are to return we will pay the extortional prices for food and drink not to mention fuel. I would give this attraction a Zero Star Rating and Zero Star Rating for Value For Money, shame this interface won't allow me… Read Full Review

Excellent trained staff, well if there was any, they were hiding. What a waste of time, for all our party. We arrived at 10.30a.m, went straight to Oblivion, 1 hour wait, over to rita 90 min wait then power cut, another 30 min wait, climbed out of ride waiting line, then to guest relations, where complimentary tickets were being given, until our turn, by which park up and running no more tickets being given (1 hour extra in park), hang on but we had waited 2 hours for nothing walked to guest… Read Full Review

Alton towers was a grand day out last year my favorite ride was the oblivion, the only rde that gave me a punch in the head was submission. The strangest ride was the hex ride, did many other rides and then the 2nd to last ride I went on was fume unpluged a fantastic water flume ride got absoulty drenched. I thought it was a nice sunny day if I ever got a chance to go with a friend I would go with my mates from football. How big and massive the park was… Read Full Review

Had a great day out only to be spoiled by a parking charge at the end.It did not mention the charge on web site or on the way in,just some machines at the entrance to the park which we thought to be fasttrack parking. If Park had been more open about this charge we would have enjoyed our stay, but as it was left a bitter taste at the end of day… Read Full Review

The rides themselves were good but the shortest wait to get on a ride was still over 30 min and this was a smaller ride towards the end of the day. The rest were well over an hour waiting.!!!! We didnt get round all the big rides as we didnt have time. In the end we almost lost the will to live..
We had long waits to get in the park, to pay, to buy a parking ticket, and as for the rides it was shocking.!! Our only saving grace was that it didnt rain.
Oh the only thing we didnt Q for were the… Read Full Review

I was in Alton towers yesterday, travelled down from Scotland. I have been to Alton Towers 5 times before and I have thoroughly enjoyed it however yesterday was a wash out. Stood in the que for Monorail for 30mins and it kept saying there was a delay. Then when we got to the entrance and it took a further 30mins to get served to get our tickets. We didnt get into the park until 11 we then made our way across to Nemesis and stood in the que for approx 25mins to be told the ride was then closed… Read Full Review

Visited Alton Towers today in a group of 6, was one of the best days out we have had in a long time, the staff are friendly and helpful, the que times were reasonable, got on all rollorcoasters no problem, 13 was amazing Alton Towers never fails to surprise us with the lastest technology, plenty for the kids to do, plenty of food outlets, cash machines (which are free to use), plenty of toilets, beautiful park overall with top rides for all ages, There are always 2 for 1 offers around i.e… Read Full Review

Alton Towers is easily one of the best theme parks in england. It has a wide variety of rides, it is a very up to date park with alot of hi tec modern rides. There are also alot of rides for young childeren and the scenery in the park is very good. The new ride thirteen is easily one of the best rides in the park. the only bad thing about it is the patronisingly long queueing area. it took me over 10 mins just to walk through it when it was empty!!! From the back of the queue pen it is atleast… Read Full Review

But next time i go there or to any other theme park i will definatly go on a upside down rolla coaster and then give you… Read Full Review

As a regular theme park go-er i was surprised when i realised i'd never been to Alton Towers before! When i went in April the queuing was a bit of a problem, our longest queue was probably 1hr30mins for Rita-Queen of Speed(which was amazing!). The queuing is much worse in the summer so my advice is to hit this park in Spring or early Autumn. If your not a keen walker than is park is not for you as it's very large! But there is the Sky Ride which is a cable car that takes you to different points… Read Full Review

I went to alton towers in july at peak time with my school, it was amazing! I went on 7 rides and every single one i would recommend.
The actual theme park was very accomadating and all the staff were both friendly and helpful, aswell as the facilities being clean.
The ques were very reasonable, the only time i waited more than 25 minutes was for air (40 minutes).
My favourate ride (as an adrenaline junkie and rollercoaster lover) was nemesis, the inverted coaster. I went on it first just as… Read Full Review

Had a good day at Alton Towers when we eventually got in, the car ques to get in where rediculous and then we couldnt believe we had to pay for the car park another £5 what a rip off. If you are paying those extorcinate prices to get in you should at least get the car park free.
wouldnt go back again in a hurry… Read Full Review
