I booked my ALton Towers tickets through NHS Discounts and only paid £29 for a 2 day ticket. Also 2 weeks before I went I had broken my foot and had a cast on below my knee and I couldnt put any weight on it. So I phoned Alton Towers and they assured me that they had wheelchairs there to rent on the day and I had to report to guest services.
However I managed to get one to take down with me instead of renting. When I got to guest services the staff were very helpful and explained that we… Read Full Review

Thought it was really disgusting that you had to pay five pounds for the car park like the £38 you paid to get in wasn't enough. the theme park was more suitable for the very young or teenagers/adults there wasn't alot for the inbetweens. I also think its disgusting that they class a 12yr old as an adult as they are not. everything is just so spaced out my teenager(adult) and my husband paid £38 each to get in and managed to get on 5 rides all day what a rip off. I also think there should be a… Read Full Review

We went with free tickets courtsesy of the Sun so that was cool. Payed in advance for fast track on line, bought fastrack scream and adventurer. Purchased the fast track for RITA on the day. The fast track tickets were well worth it especially as we hadn't paid for entrance as the queues were all around an hour long. No fast track available for the new ride 13 so queued for an hour for that and I must say it wasn't all that good. Not a patch on SAW at Thorpe Park.
A.T is set in a lovely… Read Full Review

Good day out for the family. Good selection of rides for all ages, and situated in well maintained grounds. Found it quite expensive once in the park. They shouldn't charge £5 for parking, complete rip off when everything else costs a fortune. Couldn't believe how much they charge for the ride photos, especially the digital files on the USB stick! The only thing that absolutely disgusted me was the state of the toilets, every toilet I went in stank, were dirty and in need of a serious clean… Read Full Review

There is 6 of us in our family with children ages ranging from 10-16years and as such Alton Towers was superb, as there were rides to suit all levels of confidence with some scary enough for the more confident and other more suited to my second youngest who was less willing to go on some of the main attractions, which basically meant everyone enjoyed themselves.
The biggest saving I have found with all of the parks Alton/Chessington/Lego/Thorpe is if you do not get sucked into buying food on… Read Full Review

Alton Towers wot can i say?? Rides fantastic, hardly any queues, most kids were back at school. Fantastic day. However firstly £5 to park???Dont they make enough money out of you with entrance fees!! Dont buy the wrist band dvd, got home couldn't wait to watch it... Then its all advertising shots and stock footage with the odd shot of us on, not to mention one of our rides had the family after us in the queue on our dvd, where was ours??? Highly dissapointing dvd with only the odd shot of you on… Read Full Review

After arriving at the park I must admit I was a little concerned at the Parking, lined up too close. The monorail to the entrance was good and the early hour 9:00-10:00am was well worth it. A good choice to buy the scream fasttrack ticket that allow you to fasttrack Air, Nemesis and Oblivion once on each ride, all in all a good day out, If tickets bought online. The only drawback is returning to my car to find out the car that was parked next to me had kindly decided to leave a calling card… Read Full Review

Having to pay £5 to park is annoying, then walked for what seemed like ages to get to mammoth queues just to buy tickets. One hour passed and we had managed to park and get into the park. I am not much of a theme park expert, but this seemed odd.
The park is laid out badly, the rides are all at huge distances apart and nothing of interest inbetween. Overpriced coffees, rude and unhelpful staff in the KFC gave me an overall feeling of what a waste of money. Everything is geared up at… Read Full Review

I visited Alton Towers 5 years ago and was dissappointed with the park. After much persuasion i visited again with my 2 children aged 11 and 12. This time i found the park outstanding, a huge difference! Clean, well organised and full of friendly helpful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, apart from fantastic rides the grounds are beautiful and well kept, certainly worth a wander around!! We are now planning our next visit… Read Full Review

I have visited Alton Towers several times in past, most recent visit 19/08/10. Arrived at the park at approximately 10.15.
On arrival first thoughts: What sort of a place charges for parking these days, when you're already paying a substantial amount in entry fees? Also shouldn't this be stated in the Tickets and Prices section of the web-site rather than tucked away in the 'facilities' section where its hidden amongst info on baby changing and public phone info etc...
Between 11am and 3pm… Read Full Review

We went yesterday, 17 Aug 2010. We got buy one get one free tickets for a fmaily of four, so entrance fee not too bad. The £5 to park was ridiculous tho. We arrived at 10am and were suprised to see that the large rides were not yet operating, despite the fact that the park promises folks who book online that they could enter the park at 9am...but for what? To queue for the big rides? A mystery to me, that one. I have to say, after growing up in the States and attending Six Flags Over Texas many… Read Full Review

I would highly recommend this place, went for the first time yesterday, it really is a beautiful place, stunning scenery and castle, lots to do, rides I loved were the Congo River Rapids, The Runaway Train, Flume and Enterprise, Rita was a long wait about 40 mins just for a 30 second ride, so bit disappointed about that, needed to be for longer. I am not too much of a dare devil so didnt go on any others and we ran out of time but overall it really is a place to go for the family, make sure you… Read Full Review

This was an enjoyable day out but I thought there should have been a lot more seats available. The park is very sprawling with a long walk between groups of rides and there weren't many places for a rest, nor for waiting while people you're with queue for rides… Read Full Review

I went to alton towers but i can't remember what day it was but it was great fun!!! I went on the marvellous nemesis, th13teen, hex, the flume, oblivion, and many more. I would definatley recomend alon towers to my friend since I invited one over to alton towers to go with me!! Haha!! Some people in the other reviews said that they had to wait for over an hour to get on a ride but i went on a Friday afternoon and it was very busy but i only had to wait 45 minutes for th13teen and it was very… Read Full Review

I went when I was at university and remember I had a good time, however I was drunk so maybe that had something to do with it.
Went recently (v.sober this time).
Queued for ages to get on oblivion (too short and not that great)
Thirteen is rubbish!
Went on hex-terrible
And couldnt be bothered lining up for others
I think the problem is, is that I went to universal studios/islands of adventure (spiderman or the hulk anyone/duel dragon one/the krakan and flying mantra at seaworld) after doing… Read Full Review

I feel Alton Towers is a great day out for the whole family. It has rides suited to younger children, such as "Squirrel Nutty" and "Old MacDonald's tractor ride," whilst also having their amazingly designed thrill rides, such as the almighty "Nemesis" and the amazing "Air."
Whilst queue times may be long, surely this is just a sign of a good theme park? Really, you must expect fairly long queues wherever you go, so it's not unusual. Also, if you go during term time, queues are significantly… Read Full Review

This was my first time visiting Alton Towers.
Although I had a map the rides were very difficult to find but I still managed to get on them all.
I got a fastrack for 3 rides (air, nemesis and oblivion) and it was totally worth it for just £9.
I would definately advise anybody to get a fastrack as maximum queue time with a fastrack is approximately 20 minutes.
The only problem I had with the park was the expence of food and drink.
And one other problem, their shouldn't be a refreshment stand in… Read Full Review
