    try to take the kids - now teenage boys to Alton Towers- every couple of years. This time round we stayed in a nearby travel lodge as couldn't afford the theme park hotel. We live in london, so its a fair way to travel.

    We have merlin passes so can't comment on the entrance price - but disappointed ...

    I rate Alton Towers suitable for adults simply because neither myself or my girlfriend used any of the children's areas, so unable to comment.

    My experience of Alton Towers over the years is generally very good.
    I have always come away from Alton Towers smiling... but you will need to know the secrets.

    I HATE QUEUES! So read the following tips;
    # Go on a 'school day'. Avoid Summer/Bank Holidays if possible.

    The rides themselves are amazing, which is why this review gets three stars not one.
