“X-Case Q100 Media Case”

★★★★☆

written by on 11/09/2013

The media case comes with a Media remote that is better than the one shown on the site and works well with media centre software. The case looks good when unpacked and is bigger than expected.I fitted a full size ATX board with a Intel Q6600 and a medium size ATI graphics card. The one problem with this case is the lack of air flow, there are only few vents and a couple of small fans to get rid of the heat from the components. ok if you are running a low powered rig with on-board graphics. I had to modified the case by drilling the sides and adding a couple of fans. I also had to change the cooler on the Q6600 for a low profile one. Not a major problem as I like to play around improving things anyway. Even though the metal is a little thin the case is still good value for the money. It would be great if they did a little modification to this case by adding more vents to improve airflow as standard. I am still happy with this purchase and would buy from X-Case again.

“X-Case 5 in 3 Hotswap Caddy V2”

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with XCase's delivery. I live in southern France and I ordered this on a Friday and it was delivered the following Tuesday! Most French suppliers would struggle to equal that. I haven't actually fitted this case yet, so I am hoping that the fact that it is a version 2 model won't mean that I'll have compatibility issues.

“Excellent quality, Speedy delivery and Reasonably priced!”

After doing a bit of researching online for a replacement case available in the UK; I stumbled upon this website. I liked the look of the cases and soon found one that matched my home desk colour scheme. Very important! The price was reasonable considering the high quality of the item. Very nice quality finish on the case. My old case was terrible, sharp metal bits everywhere and bad pop rivits. This one has been finished well. The design is good, I like the filters for the fans they will be very useful at preventing dust from building up inside. Can't wait for my new motherboard to arrive so I can get back to map editing on Far Cry 3!

“good and reliable at a decent price.”

After scouring all the usual sites for a new case for my newbuild I came accross X-CASE, at first glance I thought it was all gaming cases which all looked really cool if your a teenager wanting a gaming case (but I am a middle aged bloke who wanted a media case), anyway I decided to browse their site and found the X-Case X2 MPC Black Red - Micro Media Case - No Psu. this case looked the part and was not over the top,but the listing and description was a bit Skinny (not alot of info) so I e-mailed the company on a Sunday with my questions about fitting certain peripherals and to my absolute pleasure the company responded on the same day which is good customer service, I placed my order on the same day, I did think at first glance that the delivery charges where a bit High (£8.10) and the only other option was to collect from Milton Keynes but in hindsight I now see why, the item was delivered well packaged on the following Tuesday (within one working day and i could have waited a bit longer)and I did not get the old "your Item will be delivered between 0900 and 1700" rubbish I actually received a text message saying it would arrive between 11.30am and 12.30PM (thats a delivery time within one hour estimation) and low and behold it arrived at about 11.50am, now that a service I have never experienced before and I suppose this kind of service does not come cheap. so all in all I am very happy with X-Cases service and Happy with the Product they sent. However I will say that the case I purchased Had 2 Fans included and I rightly assumed that these would be fitted with standard Motherboard Headers but they where not and the listing did not specify this, the connectors are standard 4 pin Molex which means I will not be able to control or monitor the system Fans which to me was important. so a lesson their for the vendor and potential customer, the vendor should specify exactly what you are getting and the customer should never assume, however this is a minor issue and in defence of X-Case I will say its not really crucial to control system fans but it is important to monitor them to maintain System stability. so there you have my opinion if you Buy from X-Case you will get a good service and a decent product at a decent price just remember to ask any questions regarding their products and you will receive a promt and informed answer. Many thanks to X-Case

“Really under-rated.”

written by on 20/02/2013

It was cheaper than anywhere else and looked pretty, that's always a bonus, but my real surprise is that I ordered it late hours in the week leading up to christmas and it arrived at 11am the next morning! So postage was perfect, the only shame is that they didn't include the postage or VAT until the checkout, but it was still only £30, aka, cheaper than anywhere else!

“Great shopping experience”

★★★★★

written by SlrG on 20/01/2013

I was looking for a reasonable priced 5in3 cage for my unraid project and I found it in the X-Case 5 in 3 Hotswap Caddy V2. The shopping experience was bliss. The customer service responded very fast. Delivery cost to Germany was fair and the delivery was very quick.Quicker than I expected it to be. :) I was really surprised when it arrived so suddenly. The product is great and I'm very happy with my purchase.

“Really great service”

★★★★★

written by nasty_duck on 16/12/2012

I recently ordered off of xcase a ATX computer case and I'm really happy with the great service that they have demonstrated. At first selected to buy the case with a bank transfer and later changed to using a back card. Even after all this messing about on my behalf the case still managed to be delivered in just 3 days (a Sunday delivery!) They kept in great contact saying when payments have been received, when the case is going to be delivered and gave me options to change the delivery date or have to case delivered to a neighbour. The actual case is in really good condition and has come with lots of screws and zip ties. In case anyone wants to know what case i have its the xcase defender. The only thing that was slightly annoying is that the website didn't make it clear until the last minute that there would be £5.95 handling/shipping fees but this does not outweigh the massive good things going for this. I'm really happy with the service and will recommend xcase to anyone.

“X-Case - Q100”

★★★★☆

written by metalmiky on 14/11/2012

The outward appearance is unassuming which is to my taste. Installing all the hardware into this case is a bit of a struggle especially, if like me you are using a full size ATX motherboard. As stated by someone else, it is essential that you install the components in the correct order. I installed the motherboard first and then made all the necessary front panel connections, Plugged in the requisite number of SATA leads and connected the 24 pin plug from the power supply ( you won't be able to make these connections once the power supply and hard drive are fitted as these connections are hidden beneath them). Fun and games ensued when I attempted to install the Optical drive/Hard drive carrier, I finished up having to remove all the memory modules and CPU cooler in order to obtain sufficient space for it to slide in. My motherboard has slots for 4 sticks of memory but due to the position of the hard drive only 2 slots can be used. I used a modular type power supply so I only fitted the cables I required,if however you use a standard type power supply I have no idea where you could store any unused cables. It should be noted that the final installation of the power supply should be left till last as you will not be able to access to fixing screws for the Optical drive and it's carrier once it is fitted. I have built many computers over the years using various cases from different manufacturers, I have to say this build proved to be the most difficult. One other thing that concerns me is the lack of ventilation however I have not yet put any great load on this computer other than load the operating system.

Very good quality case for a good price, Having spent a long time searching around thwe web I can say that there was nothing comparable for this sort of money. Fits in nicely with the "professional" branded servers in our machine room and performs very well. High end features at a mid range cost Staff were very friendly and helpful and were very willing to answer the few awquard questions I had when trying to put together the components for this project. Will have no doubts about using them again in the future

“x-case Amira”

★★★☆☆

written by PPartisan on 07/11/2012

Firstly, the positives. This is the cheapest retail case I've ever bought, even with the 500w PSU. The PSU itself looks to be of a good standard for the price. I haven't had the chance to test it yet, but it has a good weight and quality feel, more so than those freebie PSUs you sometimes get with budget cases. As another reviewer mentioned, the finish on this case is largely of a good quality, although I have noticed a few areas where the joins aren't quite right and the unpainted silver innards of the case glint through the nice black exterior. Finally, the product comes with 2 fans, one 120mm and one 60mm by the looks of it. Again I haven't been able to test them yet for noise, but they're a nice addition on a case of this price. It's a shame they use molex connectors and not 3pins however, as this means I'll need to whip out the soldering iron to join them to a fan controller (very few modern fan controllers use molex connections). Now for the negatives: the front panel seems unnecessarily difficult to get off, especially seeing as it's essential you do so to attach the PSU. The PSU position itself isn't remarkably revolutionary either, as it means there's very little space to arrange cables and that there's less room for useful features such as extra space for additional hard drives. The majority of motherboards have SATA sockets at their bottom right, which means in a typical case a 15cm lead is enough to go from the HDD/SSD to the motherboard. There is then, usually, a fan on the front to blow air into the case, over the hard drives then out the back. Here a long cable needs to loop from the hard drive at the top of the case to the sockets on the motherboard, which only means more scrabbling around in the already tight space inside this case to get everything to fit, and it also further breaks up airflow. I understand this case isn't designed to run anything that could create high temps (like a graphics card) but it has 6 expansion bays out back...if half of these were used, overheating could become an issue. Why not just make this a full blown mATX case, with 4bays and a traditional PSU position, and nip that one in the bud early on? The fact that the back can't come off this case also makes attaching screws and managing cables etc. that much more difficult. I'm not sure why, but I was under the impression this had a 3.5 bay somewhere, but I think that may just have been the top-hard drive mount. I think a second 3.5 bay, at least, should be obligatory as SSD boot drive and HDD combos become more popular (I recommend it in even the most basic build). In closing then, I purchased this case for its exterior - and if you do it for that reason, then it's a good purchase. The PSU also looks to be good as well. However, another reviewer mentioned this is a beginner's case, but I disagree - I actually feel it isn't very beginner friendly at all. The front PSU orientation has led to a lot being sacrificed, and I don't personally feel it's worth it.

“Excellent customer service!”

written by on 04/10/2012

I don't normally spend time writing reviews, but I feel after my most recent experience dealing with x-case that they deserve some praise. I placed an order by just sending them an email, and the whole process was quick and efficient. The guy who dealt with my transaction was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Will definitely buy from them again!

“X-Case V12 -V1219 -Black/Silver - No Psu- ”

written by Bucknodd on 02/08/2012

Excellent service and fast delivery. Just had this delivered today. What a nice looking case. Buttons feel quality and not flimsyike others I've bought in the past. I also like the positioning of the psu - far better than being at the top of the case. I also found space for a second hdd on the bottom of the case just behind the psu. It looks like a fan mounting but an hdd also fits there. Just need to mount an hdd with some fibre washers and bingo! I'll get one of these cases again, no problem.

“Good cases - unfortunate handeling”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 01/08/2012

I bought a server case with a power supply which XCase mounted. Unfortunatly the PSU was only attached to the back plate which is very soft and easily bent. There are also screw holes from underneath but XCase must have forgotten those. The back plate couldn't stand the weight from the PSU in combination with the forces of shipping and was severely bent and dislocated. After a few hours of unbending and hammering I got things straight enough to use the case. The case itself was good with the exception that the sticker on the front with the power-, reset button and status leds had fallen off and I can't it to stick again. Annoying.

“X-Case RM 308 3u Chassis ”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 10/07/2012

The case is promising but ergonomics are awful. The position for standard ATX PSU is a bit limited, as the biggest one that can fit is 500W. Furthermore rear brackets are not provided so installation on a rack is limited to lighter assemblies. Absence of a manual makes installation a bit tricky. X-case company service is just fair to poor. One need's to keep an open eye to avoid being overcharged....They forgot to charge shipping. After collecting product money they asked for an extra 35 GBP without giving me an option to cancel transaction. Kept insisting to avoid their secure side and give them my credit card 3 digit cvv number.

“X-Case S1 - Gaming Case - No Psu”

★★★★★

written by originalmofo on 19/06/2012

I bought the red fanned version and it looks sweet. Being as I'm not building my rig for a while I'm reviewing looks and build quality. It looks frikkin' sweet, the power button on top looks awesome and feels sturdy. The case is well built and it appears that cable management will be a breeze. The case's rubber feet are of good quality and are of good height to allow good airflow to the psu. My one gripe is that there are no instructions on fitting the two dust guards that come unfitted. I'm sure this won't be too taxing to achieve but a little tuition would have been nice. If you want a well designed, beast looking case, this is for you. The price aint too bad either!

Ordered a HTPC case mid-afternoon and received the tracking number for the despatch in less than 45 minutes! Now that's what I call service :) The case is a solid, all metal construction and, for the price, represents unbeatable value. I'm not really sure how they do it for the money. Highly recommended.

“Best Budget Case On The Market”

★★★★★

written by on 07/04/2012

i got the xcase k13 and it is the best budget gaming case you can get in mine, i have a asrock motherboard with AMD 3.1ghz Athlon dual core processor, 4GB ram, Gigabyte GT440 Graphics card, CD/DVD-RW, 600W power supply and it all fits perfectly with loads of room left for enough air flow. Because of all the space for air flow, the computer can run smoothly and quietly as it does not heat up, especially with the 140mm LED lit fan on the side, even what gaming playing games like GTA 4. It also looks quite cool For £20, you wont find a better case for the same price

“Q100 HTPC CASE”

★★★★★

written by restless on 24/02/2012

Only real negatives are not negatives at all-- I am not keen on the mic/speaker additions on the front of the case(though this would be good if you was using it as a desktop!!!!) I am happy with the USB's on the front though the board I am bought is usb3(and 2) I have been practising with old tech as I am new to building pc's-- I always got others to do it for me. It is very easy to get to grips with how to build a HTPC inside of the case-- The only problem I am having is getting the dvd drive in the right place so that the button touches the drive to open it. The case is a little on the bulky side-- But this is fine because you can fit a full sized PSU and if its power you need; you need the space! Company wise. Ordered Monday morning before going to work, and it arrived on Tuesday. There is not many times I have ordered on-line where I have had such a rapid response!!! A very good and cheap case. Great service. Thanks XCASE!!
