I have been using Avira on 3 PCs (2 Premium, 1 free version) for 4 or 5 years now and with the exception of the PC that has the free version, it has caught every virus/worm/trojan that has attempted an invasion. The only one that the free version didn't find was the "Windows XP Antivirus" that was around back in 2008… Read Full Review

At the beginning im very satisfied with Avira antivirus...free, fast and easy to use. But 3 month ago, my avira began to detect my software (.exe) as a virus, and many of my software dont run anymore. Some of my friend here experience same problem. I think because of its heuristic diagnostic that give false scan. Unfortunately, i cannt uninstall this product cleanly, i must open my regedit to clean my system. Hope this will fixed soon… Read Full Review

For Freeware- I would highly recommend Avira & likewise
for Avast. I utilized AVG Anti-Virus for a period however I found that in concert with Avast it took too long to run scans.
As a third option, AVG is also an excellent program however I have found that as they added a number of functions to their 2008 addition it doesn't function as well with AVAST as Avira
does. As a stand alone Anti-Virus it is very good… Read Full Review
