“Communication Equipment does not belong to Sky”

The trouble I am experiencing is that SKY are happy enough to take my money every month (and periodically increasing the bill for lame reasons) but when I called to explain that my broadband had gone really slow, they advised the equipment at the exchange is not theirs (belongs to BT)and couldnt do anything about it. “Cant fix faults”

If you had asked me six months ago I would have given Sky at least a 4 star rating. They have given me solid internet for years and any problems usually got sorted within a day. However, now we have a packet loss and line drop issue that has been dragging on for 5 months. I just got of the phone after 3 hours of advisors hanging up and constant rubbish...I say we all join up and start an online petition...I am uploading a telephone conversation with sky to YouTube and you will here the advisor contradict themselves and then hang up feeling we going in circles. have been played a full and now sky claim I never rang over the past6 months to complain bout the fibre. the say the 5 boxes I have are not on their system and they have no proof of me calling in so they will not refund any money for failed service. so how di I get these boxes I asked them and then the hung up again....mmmmm

“SkyBroadband Phillipines terrible performance, poor...”

Hi Everyone, I have been living in the Philippines for 7 years. For quite some time I used PLDT myDSL, which delivered pretty much what it promised. I had a few outages each year but they were usually fixed within 72 hours of reporting. Then I switched to SkyBroadband... At first it seemed OK, then I noticed poor performance in the evening. “Pie in the Sky”

Forced to move by O2 abandoning its long standing customers and shipping us to the Monopoly board owned by Sky. Customer services virtually non existent. Chalk n' cheese compared with O2. “Switch to another provider and they will cut you off early”

I switched from Sky to Plusnet. Not only did Sky delay the order resulting in me having to pay another month, a day after they charged me for another months service, they cut me off. This was three days before the due cut off date. Avoid Sky!… Read Full Review

“Good luck getting a house move done quickly”

After being a good Sky customer for a cpl years we moved house and after a bungled cancellation with an incompetent staff member who half cancelled the broadband service we were then left without Internet earlier than we asked for. We were without Internet for 2 weeks then we moved into the new house, waited a further 3 weeks for an engineer to come around and install the Internet. My 12 months contract with the sky ended in February 2012, and I was out of contract, we moved in August 2012 so I phoned to Sky to cancel my contract but they said I don't have to cancel, just moved my old number into a new house, no one advised me that I have a new contract , never sent an email, letter, nothing. Same here cancelled my Sky broadband & phone line rental months ago changed to Plusnet yet Sky still insist on billing me !!
letter they sent me ...
We noticed you've cancelled your Direct Debit. So we can't take the payment for your latest bill.

“Waste of money.”

All right then I'm going to keep this short. I like sky broadband because its not too costly, that's all I like about it and even then it's not exactly worth it. No to what I hate about it. I do not recommend you get broadband form sky unless you like gettin your broadband disconnected for 5 hours a day, yeah that's right. 5 hours in fact my broadband is disconnected right now. “Consistently poor service”

I only chose sky due to the fact that there was no limited to the download speed on my tariff, unfortunately when your download speed is nowhere near the 'up to 8 Meg' shown on the product, the limited becomes irrelevant. I have a similar experience. Their network is overloaded in the evening and there is little you can do about that.

I'm canceling my Sky Broadband connection and going back to PLDT There is a lock in fee, but I'm simply not going to pay them.

We recently left Virgin Media and were really worried about having Sky installed as I had read so many reviews about slow, inconsistant speeds. Well, after a month of using their broadband service I am relieved. We were quoted estimated speeds of 6.8-13.9 Mbps when we signed up for the service. Our telephone exchange is about 1.5 miles away (although probably much more in actual cable distance). “Sky Unlimited Broadband we salute you !”

All the promises Sky told us have been honoured. Were told it would be slow for 10 days. Went from 4mb to 18mb in that period, and so far has stayed there consistently. Customer service is best I have ever experienced, and it is FREE and available till 11pm. Totally happy, thank you Sky. You are the best. Having obtained at least a dozen case numbers for broadband issues raised, a promise of recompense and someone to see my problem right through until it was resolved, 9 months later I still have slow intermittent broadband and a serious lack of customer service, as an IT technician I have done all the tests that I am able to do as a customer and still every time I contact Sky its back to square one....please press the reset button on your router.....have you replaced the filter on your phone… Read Full Review

“Sky Broadband The Worst!!”

I joined sky around 2 months ago from o2 as I was offered a good deal if I leave o2 early before they are bought by sky. I thought about it and thought lets give it a go. I was promised a lot by the sky adviser on the phone and told that I will get around 7-14mbps and that sky will never slow you down at peak times. I have had nothing but problems with the speed and I am only getting around 2mbps.
