been a long term customer with sky and it saddens me to say I think they are now one of the worst companies around, your broadband speeds are so slow you get fed up waiting on pages to load, miss items on eBay because the damn router decides to ask for username and password, even though I've been signed in consciously. downloads speeds are 0.1kb its laughable if you weren't charging us serious money to view constant repeat programmes, phone lines with no dial tone and snail broadband... yes I… Read Full Review

Totally agree with every word in this review...very very slow download and several times a day I do not have any internet at all. Struggled to do my online course, submit assignment etc . Stay away..I am certainly leaving and NOT returning. Paying for a service that I do not receive..

“Worst Service Ever”

Since switching to Sky last month I have been left without a working phone line on 3 separate occasions and forced to spend a fortune phoning their premium rate customer service number from my mobile many times. Often just to get cut off and have to start again. I was promised speeds of 40MB but have an average of 12 -18 and several days of a fault and no service at all. I have the normal sky broadband package which means paying about 8 pound a month let me just say this is the worst broadband i have ever come across. It always has the yellow light for some reason and slows me down whenever im on the phone, ipad or even the xbox. Agreed; SKY broadband is getting to be almost unusable. Was fairly fast for first year, then slowed right up. Had six months of slow speeds and loss of connection for at least a day every week. A Rip Off.

“An utter farce from the beginning”

After carefully weighing up my options I decided that I would give Sky a go, and I'm sorry to say that I wished I hadn't. I cannot comment on the reliability or the speed of Sky broadband as well over two weeks after signing up with them I'm still without a service. i have had sky internet for the past few ears and the download speeds are absolute rubbish i am paying for unlimited 20mb download and i never reach speeds over 80Kbs.I tried several times to contact them and when they answear they tell me to do the same things every time like chage my fliter or restet my router and i think there servuce is just terrible for that reason. In hindsight I've have purchased this elsewhere. Engineer fitted the dish but was not neat and tidy and I had to make him re-run the cables down edge of wall rather than middle and he had a bad attitude. TV works well but to get the good channels would be very expensive such as movies and sports. Phone line is fine. Broadband is average and not always reliable. Well I applied for the Sky package - tv, phone and broadband on 2nd October. I am still awaiting broadband connection as I write today (21/11/13). In comparison my son very recently applied for Virgin broadband and was up and running 10 days later. Don't ever use sky internet. When I'm using the internet and my brother is online on the play station it freezes everyone now we have to decide who will use the internet at what time. Was with aol and has no complaints but thought I'd try sky because of the offer and I regret it. Since the brought out their super fast broadband they have significantly reduced the speed of there normal interest plan. It's just a scan to make u buy their "fast broadband". “Huge problems cancelling - sky breach their own T&C,s”

Trying to cancel sky is a nightmare. Sky lists four methods to cancel in their terms and conditions. But try to use one of the methods other than a call on their premium rate number, and they don't accept your notice. Instead you get directed to call. Then you are kept on the line for costly phone call at your expense while they try to persuade you not to cancel. The worst broadband company ever, terrible customer service, all they do is run you around in circles trouble shooting the same procedures , nothing gets fixed. Connection drops ever 2 min, and its like this for days with no help from sky. Im going to report them to ofcom, they are taking peoples money and not providing a service. Hi, I have a problem with the SKY Broad band speed. Problem is my Internet is intermediately stopping and Performance is terrible and I called 5 times to the customer service, but nothing happened. “Communication Equipment does not belong to Sky”

The trouble I am experiencing is that SKY are happy enough to take my money every month (and periodically increasing the bill for lame reasons) but when I called to explain that my broadband had gone really slow, they advised the equipment at the exchange is not theirs (belongs to BT)and couldnt do anything about it. If you had asked me six months ago I would have given Sky at least a 4 star rating. They have given me solid internet for years and any problems usually got sorted within a day. I just got of the phone after 3 hours of advisors hanging up and constant rubbish...I say we all join up and start an online petition...I am uploading a telephone conversation with sky to YouTube and you will here the advisor contradict themselves and then hang up feeling we going in circles. have been played a full and now sky claim I never rang over the past6 months to complain bout the fibre. the say the 5 boxes I have are not on their system and they have no proof of me calling in so they will not refund any money for failed service. so how di I get these boxes I asked them and then the hung up again....mmmmm
