“Broadband rubbish”

I foolishly went back to Sky after a few years break. The broadband service is non existent! Cannot work from home anymore, my son cannot stream movies! We have to sit next to the broadband box to get a decent service. Would not recommend Sky in West Byfleet, Surrey area. Which is strange as it was good a few years ago! “Never had an issue”

I have had sky broadband now 5 years and never had any issues with them. When I have rang them to see if I am able to get more speed they have increased it if it can be. Which I thought was a cheeky on there part not doing it automatically. I have always found there customer service department good to deal with. I rang them last month over the broadband dropping out they were really helpful. Found the route cause of the problem which was the micro filter going down. “not good value for money”

I switched from virgin to sky ended up paying something approaching £200 in the first month and the deals all end at different times very confusing. Customer services while polite were not very clear and the broadband is very slow in comparison with virgin for the money. The tv package (family) is not very good value as I at least had Netflix with virgin and utube all in all I expected better… Read Full Review

“Stay Far, Far Away.”

So, I've had to cut this review of mine down from 27 pages, and had to figure out how to describe two and a half years worth of hell from Sky in as few words as possible, while also giving the reasons why I had 27 pages in the first place. I received a bill from Sky on Monday of this week telling me I owe them £16.

“Looking for broadband....avoid Sky”

Having been a Sky customer for some 12 months, my experience has fallen well below that for which I am paying. I signed up for fibre optic broadband from Sky and they have been charging me a not inconsiderable amount for the privilege of enhanced speed! However, so sick was I of this 'fast speed' I did various broadband speed checks. It found that although 80mb was available in my area, Sky could only summon up 2-3mb to allocate to me. Hello, Customer Services should have been 2 and not 3 stars. My mistake. The only reason for the 2 stars is that we had contact by phone with customer services (not directly related to broadband) and they were very helpful. However, when I tried to query about the 3.16 speed I was receiving while paying for fibre optic, I found the sky representative to be very unhelpful. Because I was unable to provide an answer to one question, he refused point blank to assist me any further.

I can only assume that Sky do not like complaints about their broadband speeds, or lack of; very unprofessional. I stand by my comment, though. There is a big difference between download speeds of 3.16mb (and I have recorded lower) against the advertised, minimum speed I was advised of before I signed up of at least 23mb and upwards.

Sky have been a nightmare this past year. I will NEVER use again. Home broadband and phone. Nearly a whole year frequently without any broadband. Waited weeks for a broadband engineer, but only ever cause telephone engineers, who never rectified the fault. No reliability of service. Sky customer service absolutely dreadful, very rude, with attitude. When I switched supplier, they put a stop on any other provider taking it over until the day after the service ended. Now that I've switched to talk talk I realize what a mistake I made. When I had been with sky any issues I had I would call and get it sorted and spoke to kind polite agents who spoke English and don't read from a script. I never had one day without internet or phone service I got a constant 33mb like I was told I would. I had unlimited ADSL from Sky, their service was reliable and didn't have any issues. The Sky router was OK and had good wifi performance and did a good job of port forwarding and NAT tasks. The price was also quite reasonable for international calling and local calls which we made full use of. I live in the country with my family and we pay £17.00 per month just for broadband! I only get up to 40gb and its a terribly slow speed. When I lived in a town I only paid £7.50 for completely unlimited broadband and at the highest speed they had available. Why are these prices so different? I do not understand the logic at all and we can't get super fast fibre optic with sky out here because it's not available. “Broadband speed not compatible with Sky equipment”

Do NOT use Sky. We have just signed up to Broadband, TV & Phoneline and the only thing that works correctly is our phone line. The broadband in which we recieve is extremely slow so we cannot even watch TV on demand 'Catch up TV' as it takes a day (no exaggeration) to download a programme. Every morning we wake up our Sky needs rebooting as the signal drops off due to it being so weak. “Worse than dealing with BT!”

I ordered their full TV, phone and broadband package. The give you a 1 day slots for installation, so you have to block out a whole day. Their engineer did text me on the morning of the installation with an estimated time that he would be at the property. The installation of their satellite dish it transpired would have required major surgery to the roof, a specialist installer and me being at the property for at least another 1 or 2 days. i would also need one of the neighbours to be there… Read Full Review

have been without internet for 2 weeks, Sky test the line and tell us it has to be checked for 24 hours they have to inform BT who have between 24 and 48 hours to react. BT send someone out after 30 hours tell us everything has been repaired but still no internet, someone else comes out - after another 30 hour wait tells us a card is defect in the exchange and needs to be replaced which isn't his department and has to be ordered. Been with Sky 3 years and cant remember for the life of me why? Had 3 months of no internet or phone when we first signed up and then had a crossed line for a further 4 weeks. Always tried to offer us a 'deal'. We are now going to move and have cancelled the service which is to take effect at the end of the month. After switching from TalkTalk to Sky for phone and BB services, I'm being left high and dry without broadband (delayed for 2.5 weeks because I'm switching to fibre optic/Openreach engineer visit required). Very bad communication/customer expectations are NOT managed: Sky are happy to get your money for the phone line, but not managing a seamless switch for broadband/coordinate this appropriately. Paying £20 a month for up to 38mbs fibre, but receiving 3mbs (with 250ms pings), pretty much unusable for gaming or video calling. Sky blaming Openreach when they've been using every delaying tactic in the book (reset and wait a day, new filters, etc..) to avoid logging a call with Openreach prolonging the fault. “Cacellation after 20+ years!”

When Sky took over O2 broadband last year my changeover was meant to run smoothly. I was a Sky customer but had BB with O2. Many people at the time who were not Sky customers (similar to my son) had their charges doubled! This was a sign of rip-off Britain for sure. Sky Broadband connection and service is awful. The speed has alwas been slow, but then about 10 months ago it becme unstable as well. Have lost count of the number of times have phoned them to get sorted out. They check their records, agree we have a problem, go through their same script every time and each time it gets worse.
