“Fabulous Carnival Cruise thru Vacations To Go”

★★★★★

written by on 25/01/2017

Had a fabulous cruise to Nassau on Carnival cruise line that I booked and 5 other cabins were booked thru Vacations to Go! Our agent is very knowledgeable, organized and always returns calls if missed! Makes phone calls to answer unknown questions and very accomendating! Always asks for him to book our cruises. Our plans that we book are always confirmed before cruise and on cruise.

“not honor price”

written by FranciscoTempleton on 23/11/2016

in August I got my confirmation letter stating the full price, paid $200 deposit plus airfare. Now in November when it was time to pay the balance they want another $800. Say they forgot to add the Port fees. May confirmation letterclearly has that fee as well as taxes listed. What is different is that they raised the Cabin fee by $400 each person. What the hech. I have it in writing and paid a deposit. That's a binding contract.Never ever use these people!!

“They don't care”

★★☆☆☆

written by Rodolfo244 on 01/12/2015

On our last cruise, we discovered that the two other couples at the table had paid thousands less, because their AAA agents had, separately, found discounts and reductions. Paying full-price and looking foolish reminded us that we should have checked this website first.

“Customer Service Failure!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mmatthey on 03/11/2015

It is unfortunate to say that we are very unhappy with the service from Vacations To Go. Previously, we have been happy, so we attempted to book another cruise. I was working with a certain travel counselor who had quoted me a great price on Thursday for a cruise to the Caribbean. When I then called to book the cruise with him on Friday, he told me he would prefer to book the cruise on Monday as he was going to be leaving work in about 15 minutes. I informed him that would be fine as long as we would be guaranteed the same price as we were ready to book now. He then took our names and birthdays in what we believed, was the plan to hold the rooms. Then today, Monday, when we spoke to conclude the booking, the cruise price had increased and he told us there was nothing he could do to get us the original price he quoted. I reminded him the WE had called him on Friday to book the cruise but he had PREFERRED to do it Monday as he wanted to leave work soon. We gave him the 4 travelers names and birth dates to place it on hold, but apparently he did not. I then emailed Vacations to Go to deal with this issue, feeling fairly confident that our situation would somehow, in some way be resolved so we could continue utilizing Vacations to Go. Unfortunately, the manager said there was nothing that could be done and that without names and birth dates (which we had provided), they couldn't have put them on hold. The problem is, WE had called to book on Friday, we spoke to the travel counselor who wanted to go home instead, he did not book our rooms as we initially called for but then did not even put the rooms on hold as we understood he was going to.The manager expressed understanding our disappointment but made no attempt to apologize for how this worker dealt with our situation (preferring to go home rather than book a cruise for a customer????). This manager actually told us to "call (the same worker) and he can continue to help us and monitor the cruise for us. How is this even close to helping a return customer?? This was so unprofessional and disappointing. I expected so much more. When a worker makes an error, the company should stand by servicing their customers. Vacations to Go has been good in the past, but unfortunately, their customer service is very poor when one of their employees handled the situation appallingly.

“Dark Ethics”

written by DeannaVega on 02/11/2014

I never imagined such audacity from a cruise host. A Mediterranean Cruise. HUGE deal to a lot of people. The host used the introduction night to promote himself. He was average 20 years younger than everyone in the group. The very first night he was picking up his own customers, starting fights with old men and breaking up relationships to satisfy his own sicko libido. I've never seen anything like this in 24 years of business. I will never use. this company again. I will never recommend it. I will never use their website and I can't encourage you more to STAY AWAY from these horny young boys being your cruise hosts. They ruined an incredible trip for a lot of people.

“Cheated by Vacations To Go”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Clive_D on 12/08/2014

DO NOT USE Vacations to go!!!! Find someone else to book through and tell all your friends. We booked on the Celebrity Silhouette, (which was great), through vacations to go. They offer 3 additional bonuses. We only found out on the cruise that friends of ours had been given any TWO of the THREE bonuses and we had only been given ONE. They cheated us and after the cruise, when I asked for compensation, they simply lied about the offer not having been available when we booked. We never received any compensation. We were out of pocket by $300 as a result! I took it right up to the CEO, through all their very arrogant and rude managers, and still got nowhere. Make sure that you shop around.

“could have gotten more elsewhere”

★★★☆☆

written by 1212lucky on 16/07/2014

I recently booked a cruise with Vacations to go. I found if I had booked it with Cheap cruises, I would have gotten an on-board credit, while paying the same price I paid with Vacations to go. I will check on other offers next time I book. Vacations to go did not offer me any specials. The on board credit might have not been much, but something extra is better than nothing.

“Vacations To Go - www.vacationstogo.com”

I phoned them each day, over a one week period, trying to book a Caribbean cruise at their advertised rate. On 7 separate calls, I was told by 3 separate agents that the cruise line (Norwegian in this case) had increased their price (up to $150) above what was shown on the VTG website, so I would have to pay the higher price in order to book the cruise. When I questioned this, the agents said that the VTG website price would show the increased price "tomorrow morning when it is updated". As each new "tomorrow morning" came, no change was made in the VTG advertised rate. Each new day I phoned again and I was given the same story. Over and over and over... Bait And Switch every time! This is a very dishonest business practice.

“Bait and Switch”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Josiah30 on 13/03/2014

Vacationstogo.com is a good place to purchase a vacation if you like being nickel and dimed the whole time. On top of paying a high price for the vacation, and then getting slammed again by adding two more people (sharing rooms), it is a big pile of manure. We started our trip by being required to go to a Travel Club presentation for 90 minutes mid morning the first full day of our trip for a travel club that we were absolutely not interested in. The package started at $8000 and they eventually cut it down to $600. They kept sending more and more "agents" over to try to under cut the previous one to get us to buy. IF we didn't go to the presentation vacationstogo.com would have billed us for the rooms and they wouldn't have given us the vouchers for our cruise. The best part of our trip was our stay in the Bahamas. The resort/rooms there were great, the food and culture were great (we had to pay for all of the food there (Bahamas) and hotel taxes everywhere we stayed.) They gave us a Yaris as a rental car for 4 adults...which ended up costing us an additional $350 with the upgrade to a mid-sized car. When we got back from the Bahamas, we had to drive 2.5 hours to the second hotel where we picked up more vouchers and were told that we had to attend another presentation for a timeshare because we didn't purchase the first one ...again...or vacationstogo.com would charge us for the hotel rooms. There are so many companies that you could travel through....I would absolutely never recommend this to anyone ever. Even the person doing the presentation said that we were lucky not to be at the timeshare presentation cause they were holding people "hostage" for 6 hours trying to get them to buy the time share. It is unfortunate that companies like this prey on vacationers. Priceline/Hotwire...have much better deals and no timeshare presentations...I would pick one of those. If you like to waste a lot of your time going to time share presentations this vacation is for you. We didn't mind the first time share deal so bad...but to slam us with a second one for a vacation that we were given...absolutely uncalled for. Plus the second hotel they put us up in was very sketchy...very very sketchy.

“Had best Xmas vacation”

★★★★★

written by mo0630 on 31/12/2013

I've booked a trip to Barcelo Bavero Palace Deluxe at Punta Cana during Xmas for our anniversary. The booking went smoothly. However, the next day, I found the hotel's website was running a promotion which is cheaper than what we have booked. I've tried to work with the sales rep and do the price matching. It was a bit difficult to get it through. However, team manager Zander Beck helped us to get the refunds and to our surprise, it was bigger than we expected. You always wish that everything is smooth for the first time. however, it is assuring that when something happens, you can count on them to resolve the issue. By the way, you will not regret to stay at Barcelo Bavero Palace Deluxe. We will definitely go back in the future. GM

“Worst Service Ever”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KathyG. on 21/09/2013

Vacations/Cruises To Go proved to be the worse travel service I have ever used. We were promised a adjoining cabins and upon arrival realized our rooms did not have a connecting door. My husband and I both had to stay in after the children's bedtime. The coupons that were promised for cabin credit were not taken off our credit card. When we tried to contact them after arriving back home were given the run around and put on hold for 45 minutes to an hour each time we called. When we did reach a "supervisor" she promised to help and never returned our calls. It's amazing this company is still in business. Do not trust your vacation to them. You are likely to be unpleasantly surprised and will without a doubt regret your decision.

“Poor Service Down to NO SERVICE ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by vacationrater on 14/07/2013

VTG would've been 4-5 stars years ago, but in my most recent booking, VTG IS A NO STAR!!! VTG might be a good site for cheap and competitive prices, but dont expect to get any good service if you ever run into problems after they've taken your money. I've been waiting for a refund for over a month, and both my booking agent and his manager (Zander Beck) will not follow up with any of my emails. Its very disappointing and unprofessional. Sad....

“V2go - bait and switch on our Cunard deal. ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 08/06/2013

had been watching a med cruise on QE2 when the price dropped we printed the page with the deal around 8am EDT but waited until an agent we'd used before came on duty at 1pm CDT, so he'd get the commission. Deal had vanished, no record of it, but of course....."there are cabins still available at the regular price." Clearly we paid a loyalty penalty, but from reading around the web, V2G is famous for bait and switch.

“GRAND COCO BAY, MEXICO”

★★★★☆

written by aaronjwill on 14/02/2013

Just got back from the Grand Coco Bay all inclusive resort in Mexico and must say my girlfriend and I absolutely loved it. Some reviews mentioned the food was not good... thats ridiculous!!!! The food was excellent, the access to the beach was incredible! The resort was so well kept and clean, staff was very nice. Because it is protected by a reef boats anchor 25 yards off of the hotel beach but its nice and picturesque to see boats bobing up and down then to stare into the oblivion of ocean. Right on the resort there are jet ski rental and off shore fishing availible for an extra charge. Now if you want to leave the resort PLEASE READ--- If you walk 10 feet from the resort you are on the resorts beach, look out into the horizon and you can clearly see Cozumel! Now look down the beach to your right and you will see a pier, if you walk to the pier you can get a ferry boat over to Cozumel for the day!!! WOW awesome, if you go to the pier and make a right you are right on 5th ave of Riviera Maya with beautiful authentic real life mexican restaurants, bars and shops, and if you chose to party it up COCO BONGO will shuttle you to and from the resort to their dance club on 5th avenue... WOW awesome!! The walk from the Grand Coco Bay resort to the peir is all resorts so it is very safe and full of happy resort goers..

“Unreliable Agents”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GinaFinney on 10/02/2013

I was planning my 30th wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii. I began working with an agent and she had a lot of good ideas. I had to keep bugging her about follow through and she left me hanging. How disappointing... I guess they did not want my business.. I was nice and professional... Go with another agency don't waste your time. My plane tickets went up and I have bad flight times. I complained to management thinking they might discount some sightseeing tours and they were rude... Move on to another company so you can enjoy you trip....

“Unprofessional and indifferent”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 21/01/2013

We have not gone on the actual Viking River Cruise yet (which has nothing to do with VTG anyway) but the results so far have not been impressive: wrong trip title on invoice, wrong balance on invoice (I owed them more), delays in processing credit card with Viking but poor follow-up at their end, unanswerwed phone messages, unanswered emails, non-response from shift supervisor, etc. When asked about the above, there was not much explanation or concern. When the policy on passport expiry dates was questioned, I received a very unprofessional "cut and paste" from Viking which should not have been forwarded to me. My passport was valid for 5 months and 18 days after my return and none of the countries visited had a requirement greater than 3 months. No effort was made to really explain the policy but just tried to intimidate. VTG is very happy to take a Canadian's money (in $US) but are unwilling or unable to consider any administrative differences. When an agent goes on their days off, there is no passing of the torch to another agent so if you have a pending matter - well, good luck. I am left with the feeling that I am creating a bigger problem by trying to address the existing ones.

“Terrible experience”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 05/01/2013

Everytime I found a price for a cruise and tried to book it - the price went up several hundred dollars - or I just missed the special because the agent was not working the last day of the sale so too bad for me - then was told I would get some credit and didn't get what I was led to believe - the whole thing felt like not in their integrity - not really trying to help me - just trying to make as much money as they could and never mind about my unhappiness at being charged $400 more than I was led to believe per cabin - feels like a greedy company taking advantage & trying to lure me in with low advertised prices which never were available......very disappointing.....I will never use this company again!
