i had a similar experience. for those who will happen to read bt-store reviews on this site. notice that all those who said something "great" about this company had a 10 rating for their comments.

<br/>i had no problem buying the ticket. it was when i needed to come contact their customer service that's when i really what a mistake i had made by buying from them.
<br/>
<br/>their website said (at the time, maybe it still does) they allow one free layover in london without any changes. which means, you can decide make a change to you flight to allow you a night or couple of nights stay in london (if your flight goes thru london) without incuring any changes. guess what?

<br/>few days after purchasing the ticket, i called them up and said, hey would like to spend a few days in london so let's change from london departure date ... they were like no nop.
<br/>
<br/>they told me they could have done that if i had called them prior to entering my credit card info on their website. they kept giving me a run around everyday. when you first call, their only one guy that picks up the phone.

<br/>he's very reluctant in letting you talk to anybody else besides him and it's very frustrating when you have over $1500 at stake and a very impacting travel ahead.

<br/>when i finally got to talk to someone else, they swore that they've entered some info in their system when when i get to chicago i should ask the british airways counter and they will change me iternary to allow me the couple of days stay in london. i called a few other times to make sure that such "notes" have been entered in their system. they started getting upset with me because they felt like i wasn't listening to them.

<br/>guess what readers? when i got to austin airport, they said, such change will never happen, not in austin, and certainly not in chicago and no such "notice" exist in the system. so my bags were checked straight to my destination. imagine arriving at your destination 4 days earlier than your family was expecting you. yep, no one to meet you, pick you up etc because you weren't suppose to be arriving.

<br/>they're a good site as long as you don't even up with any issues with your travels/ticket. otherwise, you're screwed. period.

I needed to add a stop-over to my intererary. i followed the directions on their website and called before paying for my reservation. A very helpful lady helped me reserve the stop over and arranged it so i could finalize payment 4 hours later when i got home.

When you make any reservation with any website you need to carefully read everything. This seems to be common sense to me, but a lot of complaints here could have been avoided if the customers actually reading before clicking… Read Full Review

The prices are a good tease. However, the times of the flights can be challenging. The biggest obstacle is when you want to finalize the purchase of the tickets --- you are locked out again, and again and again. That is my biggest problem with them. Plus the customer service --- LAST TO NONE. Always on hold and lots of disconnected calls, even with a landline. Three of us purchased airline tickets from Best Travel Store during September, 2006. Our 3 flights departed from USA and destinations included Rome, Venice, and Frankfurt, Germany. EACH ticket transaction was completed with NO PROBLEMS. Each ticket price was about 1/2 of the price offered by better known travel websites. I completely agree with you CHerPig's. I've already traveled with Best Travel Store 5 times (purchased multiple tickets for family members each time) and I must say I was amazed at the low prices they offered in comparison to the so-called "big name" websites. I must have saved over $2000 with the 14 tickets I've purchased with them. I also have absolutely no complaints with the service.

I am also a bit nervous about the waiting part but I had a similar experience with Vayama and that worked out ok. Let's hope we get to Korea on the cheap!

Best Travel Store booked me on to a flight that had a connection in 2 separate airports and they did not notify me about it. When I called to complain and talk to someone about the flight, it was hours before I could get through the machines. The reviewer, failed to mention that schedule changes are controlled completely by applicable airlines, and that he/she booked the mentioned two-connection flight voluntarily. Best Travel Store has no control over schedule changes, and we work with airlines to provide either a full refund (under some circumstances) or accomodate passengers on the best alternative connections available. Schedule changes are a possibility whenever a flight is booked with any travel agency or airline, and we regret that the customer does not wish to accept this.

the best travel store agents should apologize for the mixup instead of leaving a negative comment to the reviewer. It is partially the websites fault for not mentioning in the itinerary about the layover in different airports but instead they make an excuse for their actions and blame it as the customer and airlines fault. Seeing the BTS comment makes me even want to book less at their website and even tell my friends and family not to not book there too!
