“Not a good experience, I would not recommend,...”

I ordered a machine for work use, to mainly use CAD software. The machine arrived in less time than stated, and I was impressed at this point. On installing my CAD software and restarting, the machine would not boot properly. Trying to contact customer service is a nightmare: Phone – you are put on hold with a recording, suggesting raising a case on their website or opening live chat on their website. The live chat rarely seems to work. If you stay on hold, it eventually says they are receiving high call volumes and cannot take your call – try later. Why does it let you hold for 15-20 minutes before saying that – infuriating just in itself. Using their website ticket support service is also nightmare if you have a complex enquiry, and the initial answer you get is incomplete – you then have to reply and wait another few hours for the next instalment. After doing a fresh install of windows under their direction via several online messages spanning several hours and reinstalling the software again – I got the same issue with the machine. Eventually they said to arrange to return the machine and they would fix it. I did this – a week later, it was returned to me. I installed the software for the third time – same error. After exchange of numerous further messages, mostly with considerable time waiting for a reply and following various suggestions from them in BIOS settings, they said to send the machine back again. This was done, but now they have returned the machine, but to my office address (I am working from home on lockdown). As part of the online request to pick up the machine, I entered my home address to return it to (this still shows on the ticket) – such a stupid error on their part, particularly at this difficult time. I tried to contact them as soon as I got the tracking notification that the machine had been sent out, to try and get it re-routed to the correct address, but no reply. Contacted them again after wrong delivery of the machine – no reply – that was 24 hours ago, still waiting for a response. The initial issue was raised with them on 11th March – it is now 24th April. So far (24-04-20) I have exchanged 49 online messages via their ticket system and one live chat (the only time it worked), reinstalled software 3 times (shortly to be a 4th time once I get the machine delivered here to the correct address). I appreciate that lock down for covid-19 has caused issues to all of us, but looking at negative reviews here, it seems that communication problems with them has been an issue way before the Covid-19 crisis. Do not use Computer Planet if you expect any level of customer service!

We were very happy with our pc it came in a huge box with so much packing so it arrived nice and safe. We checked everything off and it was all as per the order. “Customer Support”

Buying a computer is a bit like buying car insurance, you only find out how good the company is when things go wrong. Having recently purchased a gaming PC from nextdaypc, a sister company of computer-planet, the computer arrived on time as advertised with the spec as advertised. The computer was well packed and started up no problem. Games quickly loaded on everything seemed fine until the computer randomly restarted in the middle of a game or internet session. This fault continued the next day so email fired off to customer support who quickly made contact. Following a remote testing session to check possible component failures the company requested the pc was returned for further testing. Computer-planet arranged collection (keep original packaging for this) and the pc was returned. Following a few days of further testing the offending component was identified and changed and the computer shipped back. So far the issue has not reoccurred. Email contact with customer support was good throughout the whole process and not once did the company try to avoid responsibility. It was a shame that the computer arrived with an issue not previously identified through presales testing (thats why I have knocked off one star) but I for one accept that computers can be flaky and develop issues at any time so thanks computer-planet for the customer service. Lets just hope I don’t have to see how good my car insurance customer service is!

“Use them at your peril !!!”

Purchased a PC June 2016, too far longer than advised to arrive, when it did the graphics card was loose and damaged and I had to wait for another to be delivered and install it my self. It then developed a fault in September, by locking up for no reason and had to be turned off each time. It was returned after a month of arguing about the fault, repaired (supposedly) and returned in November. It was ok for a few weeks and then started the same fault again, returned in January back in February. Now happening again!! asked for a full refund again but they will not discuss this. Thinking of going to trading standards...

“Worste experience ever!!”

Order was unbelievably slow through production, I was assured delivery on Friday 10th March. Rung them up to find out they weren't even going to send my item because my delivery address was not the same as my billing address. They said they were going to send a letter to my billing address for verification, that never came. Nor was I even made aware of this process during checkout. I was then assured my item would be delivered next day Saturday before 6PM. Now here I am after wasting my Saturday sitting in waiting for a package that never came..... Waste of time!!!!!

“ misinformation and apathy”

This is the first time I've been treated as a problem as opposed to a customer. After filling out an order for over £1600 on the 10th of February, I eagerly awaited my PC which as claimed by Computer Planet should've been finished in 9 working days and delivered on the 10th. I saw the estimate that Computer Planet then put in their customer area, saying it was due to be finished by the 25th. I thought the extra couple of days would be worth the wait. I couldn't have been more wrong. After several emails, phone calls and live chat sessions, where sales and customer support agents all gave me conflicting accounts. When the delay became significant, I requested to know why my PC which they had told me was completed had not been shipped yet. I was informed that due to the incompatibility of the case (the fault of Computer Planet here as they guarantee compatibility), my product had been delayed and that they'd upgraded it to a more accommodating case free of charge, and that the PC was now complete and due to arrive the next day. This however didn't occur. They hadn't even bothered giving it to the courier. They then promised me the PC would arrive on Wednesday at the latest. This also did not occur, with them finally "closing" my ticket and claiming they'd dispatched the PC with the courier along with the screen I'd ordered, ignoring the questions I sent them regarding lateness. Being very excited, but annoyed and frustrated with the apathy of the staff, I waited in the morning for the courier to bring the PC and screen. Instead however, I only received the screen and when I asked the courier where the PC was they told me that it hadn't in fact been picked up from Computer Planet in the first place. I was extremely annoyed by this because as a consumer, it's one thing to experience poor service but it enroaches on another level of consumer rights when you are also lied to and have your time wasted. Computer Planet then told me in the live chat they couldn't promise the PC would arrive that day. The first shred of honesty in their entire communications with me, after which they promptly offered me a refund! I was surprised at the fact that, instead of apologising, they were too eager to get rid of me as a customer. The apathy in the sales and support staffs responses really showed me a new low in customer service, where it is evident that the staff neither cares for their customers nor for the welfare or the company itself. It shows a complete lack of quality control, a lack of which if present in customer service only gives an inkling of an idea as to what may be the case when it comes to them assembling PCs. I have now taken my business elsewhere, and noticed in the other reviews that another customer of theirs with a Muslim name has been subjected to extremely poor service and it begs the question as to whether Computer Planet may even have discriminatory business practices regarding people's faith backgrounds. I suggest that this company be avoided at all costs, as not only are they dishonest in dealing with their customers but they are also dishonest in their sales pitch. After searching online I managed to find other computer building companies that can offer better components at a lesser price, which means their whole value proposition was essentially a lie too. Don't be fooled by the reviews here probably made by their own staff.

“Avoid if you want what you pay for.”

I would strongly advise people to search around before committing to buying from Computer Planet. I needed the PC I purchased within a time frame. On there website it say time from order to being delivered is 10 days, when I ordered my PC, they said it would be ready and delivered within 14 day, this is including all testing and so on. I accepted this but after 14 days had passed I had to get in touch with them to find out what was going on. There customer service is absolutely terrible and I had to wait a further 5 days for my PC. Speaking to there customer service team through live chat they couldn't even offer an apology for the delay. Disgusting way to treat a customer.

“Be Warned”

Firstly...The majority of these 5 star reviews seem suspiciously similar, just putting that out there. After sales is a joke. Don't try and ring because literally no one will answer the phone in the technical department. I ordered a £2300 PC and the motherboard went bang. They picked it up very quickly and then...nothing. No updates, no confirmation they'd received it. The only way to check is by logging into the customer area and seeing if anythign has been inputted in there. I finally contacted them after quoting 7 days for a repair and it was close to 14. Once again, had to go through the web chat as no one was answering the phones, I'm told a few more days. My computer has now been is the 'Despatch Queue for two days, seemingly no closer to actually being despatched.

I had brought a gaming computer around 2 years ago and it still functions perfectly. They thoroughly tested the gaming rig before shipping it off and everything was perfect.The settings for overclocking were sorted by them and the screens were intact with all 3 having all the wires and cables needed. I bought a BitFenix Prodigy computer from Computer Planet earlier this year. The delivery was really quick, and the build of the computer was excellent. The pc runs all the best games with zero problems. When I did need to contact them it has been well responded to, quick and informative. The website was really easy to use, and I had spent several days evaluating all the options for parts that I could have my custom pc built with. The choice can be overwhelming but in a good way! The cost of computers can be expensive but Computer Planet were definitely cheaper than some rivals and never cut corners with the product to be so. Of note, I found the option to choose what software I wanted installed important, it saves so much time to get the pc up and running to the level required (I'm a very experienced pc user but still it's not just a time saver but sometimes a stress saver, especially for less experienced users.) Delivery turned out to be great, and was quicker than expected. You can track the manufacturing of the computer online and see what stage it is at, which helps built excitement as much as reassure you of the quality assurance the computer go through. Overall, I am really satisfied with the product and the customer service that I received from Computer Planet. My only regret is that I didn't get from them a new keyboard as my own old one's space key is sticking!

Computer Planet gave me the best deal on the specs I needed, and was by far the most user friendly- I could instantly see exactly which parts were compatible with my selections.
