I DID NOT wish to purchase until I had seen the advertised free credit review - and I know that the approach was made earlier than the 18 Febrary shown on my c.c. statement. I duly received one, which told me nothing of value, and do not wish to buy the service. However, a c.c. statement lists a charge of £14.99 on 18 February, and I am waiting now to see whether unwanted monthly fees are going to be levied, as has been the experience of others.
How do I recover my money, and stop the monthly… Read Full Review

A very overpriced service. I had an error published by experian, who claimed that they were under no legal obligation to provide supprt to any claim that are made through there site, an opinion supported by the information commissioners office. The libel was removed after the threat of legal action. The problem is the knock on affect of the original lie, and this has worsened my credit file in general. They have sinced reused to acknowledge my mails, add a notice of correction or even… Read Full Review

Creditexpert (experian) is a facility which thrives on making incredible profits from peoples worry about their credit file. They now charge £14.99p/m for the service (gone up from £5.996.997.99) and it is exactly the same as getting your report through the post for £2 - apart from it being online. They give you a three-digit number as a credit score- but this does not mean anything since all companies use a different criteria for credit scoring. Buy your report through the post for £2 (don't… Read Full Review

When I subscribed to this they charged £5.95 a month, then without notice they increased it to 7.99.
They make it very simple to sign up on line but you can only cancel by phone... just don't expect them to answer the only tel number you can use to cancel!
Best avoid… Read Full Review

I signed up for the free credit trial. I called to cancel it and the agent (Paul) told me that a company called CCN had done a credit check on me. He asked me if I had applied for other credit. He sounded very concerned. He said he did not know who CCN were.
CCN are the name that Experian were formerly known as.
He was trying to convince me to have a report and commit to a service.
When I called back to speak to a manager - I asked the agent (Chris) if he know who CCN were. He said no… Read Full Review

Credit Reports are a nice idea. The scoring setup is there to define boundries between different levels of risk. To the lender that is. However, I don't know if it's just the borrowers that are let down by Experian, or the banks aswell.
Experian are absolutely USELESS. They're always out of date when it comes to reports and have an excuse for everything. They don't feel anwserable at all. I've paid for my score 6 times since September 2010, trying to understand how certain changes however… Read Full Review

I have been with Creditexpert for just under 2 years and their service is excellent. I've sorted several issues with them, and have found them courteous and knowledgeable. The below comments just seem like sour grapes from people who can't read. It's hardly small print what they put on the site. Here it is, just before you sign up:
'Why do we need your card details?
Your card is used to verify your identity. Don't worry, your card will NOT be charged for membership during your free 30 day… Read Full Review

WARNING!!! Don't go near CREDITEXPERT with a barge pole. Joined in May 2010 and didn't realise I'd be charged £7.99 per month if I failed to cancel - BECAUSE IT WAS CONCEALED SOMEWHERE OUT OF SIGHT. There should have been a banner style headline stating "WARNING - WE WILL TAKE £7.99 OFF YOU EVERY MONTH INTO THE FUTURE!!" Well, they removed 7 x £8 give or take from me and into their bloated coffers, but NO MORE. Complete charlatans and tricksters, dressed up respectably as a 'professional'… Read Full Review

This company is appalling and most reputable institutions are using them as their primary source of credit rating. As many people have noted the records they keep are not up to date, contain old credit cards, don't include main credit cards and therefore give a completely useless picture of your current credit status. In order to change anything, the lengths that you have to go to are ridiculous and the direct debit is just a reep off. Check out how much money the Directors have made by cashing… Read Full Review

If I could give company 0 stars then I would!
I signed up for a 'free' credit report which i planned to cancel within the month so I did not have to give them any money. Two days later I saw that 5.95 had been taken from my account. I know I made VERY sure I did not click the button that said 'pay 5.95 to see your credit score'
So I rang up and was told that I must have or I checked the box when i signed up that said 'view your credit score' If I did this it was not clear you had to pay. I said… Read Full Review

I too fell for the `FREE' credit report for myself & my wife. Having requested credit card details `to complete the report' I then find that they have taken 2 x payments of £7.99 from the card without my authority. These people are supposed to exist to protect consumers from devious and unscrupulous scams yet are trickers us into obtaining revenue bt small print deception. I have replied to their e-mail cancelling ant `agreement' and a refund on THREE occasions without ONR REPLY! DO NOT GO… Read Full Review

Me and my wife both used Credit expert's free service only to find a few months later we were being charged £6.99 a month for a free service we used once, cancelled by phone ok but now get almost daily E-mails trying to get us back into scheme including the occaisional one that suggests our rating may have changed (which it has not) and we should check it out, resulting in more payments to them!! even got one suggesting we applied for a loan which we have not, surely this is scare moungering… Read Full Review

I find that having spoken to friends and relatives, that Experian is bad news, it also has the ability to influence banks, building societies, and I believe lead them down the wrong path, ofting resulting in anguish and concern by the person involved. They really shouldnt exist, with that much power, and banks and buildings societies etc should do their own reports on the people they are dealing with. Experian is much too dangerous… Read Full Review

Experian Credit report is a con it isn't free at all, you have to pay £5.95 to view the credit report. The only free information is the details regarding any credit agreements you currently have or creditors that will offer credit based on your financal status, (you must enter your bank details before this is available). However this information should be in the lenders small print and moneysupermarket will provide these details free of charge.Do not fall into the trap of paying the monthly… Read Full Review

Here is the thing with CreditExpert - there is a 30 day free TRIAL after which you are charged a monthly fee if you do not cancel by telephone before the month is up. The problem is this is NOT made clear to anyone that uses the service. I cannot stress enough the importance of reading the small print, not just with this service, but anything in life!! Also, DO NOT tick the box that says you want a credit score. Another £5.95 will automatically be charged to your card for this service EVERY… Read Full Review

Following my receiving continuouse emails from Experian (don't know how they got my email address) offering me a 30 day Free Trial to see my credit report, I declined to complete the form due to them requesting my Bank Details. I received further emails telling me they needed my Bank Details should I become a member. I gave my Bank Details and within 2 days £5.95 had been taken from my Bank. I was horrified at this. I know I have an excellent credit history and when I accessed my credit report… Read Full Review

The only reason I would recommend Credit-Expert to anyone is so that they can see what inaccurate information Credit-Expert have about them!
Took me over a year of phove calls, emails and letters to get them to accept my correct electoral roll and address information!
Not worth the £6 you pay a month - and that doesn't even give you credit scores!… Read Full Review

They will also fill your email inbox with rubbish advertising their service.

A truly appalling and disreputable organisation that should not be allowed to trade. Do not have anything to do with the 30 day trial. If you get locked into that it is very difficult to get out. It is a complete scam. I shall be reporting them to Trading Standards. If I could I would give them nothing at all… Read Full Review
