“ILLEGAL CREDIT AGENCIES???”

Written on: 01/09/2012 by Heartsman999 (1 review written)

In the uk credit agencies were set up on the recommendation of ONE commissioners report back in the 70s. They are run LITERALLY VIA STEALTH,a magic roundabout of complaining to information commissioners office who (so called oversea them),they then pass the buck to the oft (office of fair trading),who pass you over to the FSA,who pass you back to the OFT!!!!! I have MUCH false info,HOWEVER if you do not pay the membership/check your score at total 13 pound per month THEY REFUSE TO REMOVE… Read Full Review

This is a large US company , basically all they want is your money. Poor service, and a hell of a job to get your money back. Give them , and all " Credit Agencys" a wide birth.

“It is not easy to cancel your free subscription”

Written on: 26/07/2012

I had misplaced my reference number, and have been unable to cancel my membership with credit experian after making phone calls and numerous emails. When calling up to cancel the membership, I answer many security questions to prove I am who I am, I am told that they are unable to cancel my membership unless I have a reference number. I have been told I have to request the reference number via email, which I have now numerous times. The email I send generates an automated email telling me… Read Full Review

Experian owed by Shareholders BlackRock Artisan Partners and Legal and General are given information by Banks and Credit Card Companies Their share trade at over £9.00 as of todays date. Some of this information is wrong andfresults in credit status of good customers being damaged. To rectify this it is necessary to go throug a procedure. I feel there is a duty of care all institutions should give and make sure their clients are fully aware of their credit score. Every institution that produces this information I believe should by law print the score on the top of their clients statment as a warning of what has been reported. If the information is correct then that is fine however if it is inaccurate it should be removed. May people don't understand how the system is geared against them. Many don't realise that the extra interest that feathers the banks next results from wrong information being filed. In my case a default notice was issued eventhough a DD was active with funds in the bank. They didn't take the money when they had been instructed to and then issued a default notice for £12.00 what other antics are they up to. I will investigate. We should all challange this system that amounts to a form of discrimination against individuals Watch for more news from me.

“membership a bit of a scam really”

Written on: 15/07/2012

You can find hidden away a £2 option for the report. I would suggest this. The membership includes 7 of insurance..against what!? I didn't ask to buy insurance. I asked to buy a credit report. Very frustrating Experian....Boom boom! Additionally, I found even the £2 option a poor user experience. I would happily pay (as you used to) £5 for my instant full score and report when I want it. £15 a month...WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING experian. Plus its ironic, getting people to take on more monthly… Read Full Review

“Outdated reports and for a data company, they cant add up!”

Written on: 20/06/2012 by gandalfthewizard (2 reviews written)

I requested a copy of my report as i applied for a mortgage and they said they could not lend the amount i needed as i owed money elsewhere. I paid off all the money outstanding almost two months ago and yet they still show this as outstanding despite the date on each record showing it was updated twice since i signed up. I spoke to my card sullier to ask why their record was not accurate and they said that they definately updated the balance to zero and Experian were at fault. I emailed… Read Full Review

“Membership Con”

Written on: 16/06/2012

I took up the 30 day free membership with experian and cancelled after 2 months as I felt that the price was not worth the service. When the final cancellation date arrived, I received an email from them saying goodbye with details on how to reactivate the account in future. Less than 24hrs later an other email arrived warning me of a change in my credit report that maybe fraudulent or a change in credit details. It advised me to log back into my account to check my details. BEWARE! If you… Read Full Review

“Helped me get a Mortgage”

Written on: 01/06/2012

I joined Experian a few month ago - i don't have any bed credit history - but i learned a great deal on how to improve my score. Turns out my score was 'fair' at 806 due to the high utilisation of my available credit - my credit card was at around 75%. So i paid 400 a month into the card for two month - and my credit score is now 904 (Good) - I applied to the Halifax a month ago - and i move into my new house next Friday.. I'll be keeping this service for a while longer.. great resource… Read Full Review

Written on: 20/05/2012 by matavin (1 review written)

I have been using the website for over 4-5 months now to try and gain a better understand of my financial situation and to improve my score. Every month my score fluctuates massively. I have no debts or arrears and have been produced a poor score several times a month. I looked further in to this and two major companies have wrong information about me. I have an ORANGE account history when it was actually another family member, I am shown to owe LLoyds bank £180+ for a credit card I do own… Read Full Review

“Not accurate information”

Written on: 04/05/2012

I am a sole trader, not limited who pay my invoices on time and have been trading for over eight years without any problems (thankfully). I am a fully legitimate business and for the life of me I can not understand why experian give info to potential suppliers and tell them I am a caution (red warning). I have written to experian they have no information on my company? So how can they give a report??? This is not accurate and I have told them this and I am presently awaiting a phone call to… Read Full Review

“Giving wrong info to the banks”

Written on: 27/04/2012 by monkey80 (1 review written)

1 star is too many to give, it should be big fat 0! I have recently applied for a basic bank account (yes, my credit is bad) and I have been declined because experian said to the bank that I am not registered in my electoral. I am, 2 days ago I have received a letter to vote and have even called my coucil to check if there is a mistake on their side. Looks like experian doesn't care that they ruin people's lives!!! stay away and appeal with your bank and asked them to use different credit… Read Full Review

“Naughty, Naughty Experian!”

Written on: 23/04/2012 by jasoncooke93 (50 reviews written)

See my Equifax review for the sheer hassle experienced trying to clean up defaults on my credit file that were added in error. Experian were a bit better on the support front, at least they pick up the phone in the UK. It doesn't get much better though... I worked tirelessly for 5 months to get 2 incorrect defaults removed from my Experian credit file (approx 20 phone calls, 15 emails, 10 letters) and having been fixed 'Satisfied' for about 7 days, it reverted back to show an outstanding… Read Full Review

Written on: 21/04/2012 by parsnip12 (1 review written)

I recently joined Experian .co.uk and got a credit score of 811 according to experian that is good, so i decided as i dont have a credit card i would apply for one and use the company experian recommend in their what card is good for you section. So you can understand how i felt when i was declined for a card and note saying if you have been declined write to experian and get a copy of your credit report. WHAT is the point of being a member and doing what they recommend when it does not… Read Full Review

“Price Gone up!!!! Stay away!!!”

Written on: 16/04/2012

Normally I don't leave reviews but this time I thought I should really let others know how I feel. I just got One line for all of you out there "Stay away from experian's online credit report service". The price has gone up from £6.99 to £15.99 for some reason. So don't bother instead order the £2 paper copy of your report… Read Full Review

“Rubbish and misleading”

Written on: 11/04/2012 by laurieannuk (1 review written)

I went in to renew my membership - I guessed that I wouldn't get the free trial again - and got a shock when I saw it was £14.99! This looks to have doubled in price over the past few years. Not only that, but at least £6.60 of this is for an insurance that I do not want or need - and you can't remove it. I thought I would e-mail them for some feedback and couldn't find any contact details where I could send a free text e-mail on the site - just go into categories that did not apply. It… Read Full Review

“Rip-Off!”

Written on: 25/03/2012

No answers from the poorly trained staff. Promises of call backs 6 times and no one ever has. Clean report from their website but finance companies are seeing something different. What is the point of a report for the user and different one for the finance companies. I actually had fraudulent activity on my history which had been marked as such. I had to get a financial institution to do it as experian claimed they could not. Their reports never indicated any of the information. Total… Read Full Review

“Milk&more”

I was amazed to find that my application to Milk&more - the online system for dealing with my milkman - was declined because of Experians assessment of my application details!! What next - Experian stopping me breathing in air? I guess I'll just have to go back to the traditional method of ordering things by note paper and paying by cheque… Read Full Review

“Credit Expert aka Experian taking money for no help at...”

Written on: 26/02/2012

Hi, I joined credit expert (experian) in the first week of january 2012 as advised by a high street bank to obtain a credit report. I sent my credit report to the bank who then asked me to add a notice of correction to my credit file so they can put in a request for me to obtain a mortgage. Upon registering I found that my credit score was being affected by a default which I incurred whilst at university and my current credit card balance, I cleared my credit card balance and the score… Read Full Review

Credit experts gives wrong advise totally opposite to the bank suggestion. Make unacceptable excuses to take the rating down. Its look like we buy the credit score. They ask me to be a member with a payment of 15 pounds a month, Gave me a good score when i decided to cancel the membership they downgraded my score with no reasons. Absolutely Scam.
