“Always cancel after the free service.”

Written on: 06/04/2013

Im absolutely disgusted to find that for the past 6 months I've been charged £14.99 each month for a service I've not been using or had no idea about. They used my credit details which I gave them to have a FREE 30 day trial, because Tmobile had put a default on my account (which is another story - don't use Tmobile). Always read the small print, these guys take advantage of you in your hour of need. Everyone wants your money, I think it's rubbish!… Read Full Review

“Scammed from the people who are supposed to protect you ”

Written on: 04/04/2013

Got a credit rating on line about 6 weeks ago after reading "money saving expert" who advertised a free credit check. Today noticed they had taken 14.99 out of my credit card without my knowledge or agreement. I eventually found a number to call and the guy cancelled the subscription i didnt veven know i had. he said it was in the terms and conditions. Who reads those!!! I asked for a refund and he declined. I told him the service itself was scamming money and was a joke . I feel i need to… Read Full Review

Go to moneyclaim.gov.uk. Claim, inluding all your losses. then go to the FCA and ask them why they authorise this sort of behaviour. Also cancel mandate at your bank

“Signed up for free trial then got tied in”

Written on: 29/03/2013

I signed up for the 30 day free trial, then did not receive any notification of how to cancel my subscription and then noticed that they have taken membership money withotu previously explaining to me what it would cost - this is an absolute shambles. And then I emailed their support email and just got a poxy automated repsonse with a poor answer to my question - Surely if I can sign up online I can cancel online too? I don't have time to deal with crappy call centres - I work in one so the… Read Full Review

“Outdated info nightmare to get removed”

Written on: 27/03/2013

They have over 12 different "aliases" for me, which is anything from my middle initial mrs and miss, my past 3 address one over 17 years ago and not linked to any current credit, now or within 6 years. I waited almost 2 weeks for my pin code and there is no telephone helpline for people paying the £2 fee only if you commit to the monthly subscription. They refuse to update my file, even though information is extremely out of date. Nightmare. Equifax has a much better system and layout… Read Full Review

“Very difficult to cancel, beware”

Written on: 13/03/2013 by LondonPimlico (1 review written)

You will have to cancel this service several times before Experian actually stop taking money from you. A company with very poor ethics - the bosses are fully aware of, and even encourage, the customer services team's dishonest approach to cancellations. I hope that one day the FOS, an MP, or a strong compliance officer at Experian will bring this company into line… Read Full Review

“Most up to date report ten times better than Equifax!!!!”

Written on: 12/03/2013 by dcaine100 (2 reviews written)

Signed up for their free 30 day trail after I was a victim of identity fraud and my excellent rating was destroyed, the process was simple and easy just had to wait a week for the verification pin code in the post. Their report is right up to date and so far no problems! also tried Equifax but their info is massively out of date and very basic… Read Full Review

“Paid for Months and Never Seen A Report!!!”

Written on: 11/03/2013

Signed up to experian a year ago and waited for my pin to come through the post. Whilst waiting for the pin code due to a busy time in my life I forgot about the whole process for 6 months waiting for the pin to arrive. When I noticed on a bank statment that experian had taken a payment every month for the service and I had never recieved a pin code and couldnt gain access to view my score. I tried 3 times for a pin code after this and still havent recieved one! The last one was sent by… Read Full Review

“Shocking dishonest unreliable”

Written on: 13/02/2013 by mannersdontcostathing (1 review written)

I signed up to view my credit file for 1 month in January 2012. I did not sign anything to say I wanted to enter in a monthly subscription. I realised I was being charged £14.99 later in the year and emailed to cancel. I was advised I could not cancel via email so after tryign to get through on several occasions, I finally got through to speak to someone. They tried to pursuade me not to cancel (even though I hadn't signed up to in the first place!!) but then confirmed my account would… Read Full Review

“Terrible Service”

Written on: 27/12/2012 by Trevor_Nelson (1 review written)

When trying to contact experian to change incorrect information they held on my company they provide no inclination on the site of how to do this and when looking a the contact us section provide a phone number (expensive 0844) but this is fully automated and totally unable to speak to a real person! The automated options only act as an FAQ re-directing you to the experian website, very poor. They don't even offer an online chat person. They don't have any of the customer services that people… Read Full Review

“Mjm cleaning and maintenance martyn madden ”

Written on: 17/12/2012 by Disgruntled987 (1 review written)

Do not go any where near this company. This company has treated its staff like something they dragged in on their shoe. I worked for them for only 2 months and gave sufficient notice when I decided to leave. I am still waiting 4 weeks after I gave notice to receive my final pay from them I have telephoned them probably no less that 20 times and even been to the registered office only to be met with violence and threats over the phone and physically person to person. I have been further… Read Full Review

“Very poor service, just want your money.”

Paid £2 for basic credit report. 3 weeks later, still No email or letter with online access code, as promised. Chased up, after 4 days have an email saying their sytem indicates they need more proof of identity, this , that and the other, and a copy of Drivers licence or passport, all of which I have to send by post. Ok I can see that this might be needed, but why not tell me up front ? And email me as promised ? not let me chase up. Ok, it was only £2 but they still have my money. As for the… Read Full Review

Advertised Free Credit check specifically says "card will not be charged" If you read small print you have to cancel membership within 14 days by email to avoid being charged. Despite the obvious scam trick I went ahead with the check and cancelled my account by email shortly after.. A few weeks later 14.99 deducted from my account and extremely difficult process to get refunded. “WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER”

Written on: 01/11/2012 by Evanmancuso (1 review written)

So I asked for a dollar credit report and they ended up charging me 31.95 plus the dollar. Im getting the 31.95 back in 7-10 business days but it took an hour on the phone. Every time I asked for a manger they kept just coming back to me with a better deal. First it was after the 7 says 9.95 for their service. Than it was 17.00 dollar refund than it was a full refund after 7-10 days. I was like alright well I still will like to talk to a manger. Have some concerns and comments. In the uk credit agencies were set up on the recommendation of ONE commissioners report back in the 70s. They are run LITERALLY VIA STEALTH,a magic roundabout of complaining to information commissioners office who (so called oversea them),they then pass the buck to the oft (office of fair trading),who pass you over to the FSA,who pass you back to the OFT!!!!! I have MUCH false info,HOWEVER if you do not pay the membership/check your score at total 13 pound per month THEY REFUSE TO REMOVE… Read Full Review

“It is not easy to cancel your free subscription”

Written on: 26/07/2012

I had misplaced my reference number, and have been unable to cancel my membership with credit experian after making phone calls and numerous emails. When calling up to cancel the membership, I answer many security questions to prove I am who I am, I am told that they are unable to cancel my membership unless I have a reference number. I have been told I have to request the reference number via email, which I have now numerous times. The email I send generates an automated email telling me… Read Full Review

Experian owed by Shareholders BlackRock Artisan Partners and Legal and General are given information by Banks and Credit Card Companies Their share trade at over £9.00 as of todays date. Some of this information is wrong andfresults in credit status of good customers being damaged. To rectify this it is necessary to go throug a procedure. I feel there is a duty of care all institutions should give and make sure their clients are fully aware of their credit score. Every institution that produces this information I believe should by law print the score on the top of their clients statment as a warning of what has been reported. If the information is correct then that is fine however if it is inaccurate it should be removed. May people don't understand how the system is geared against them. Many don't realise that the extra interest that feathers the banks next results from wrong information being filed. In my case a default notice was issued eventhough a DD was active with funds in the bank. They didn't take the money when they had been instructed to and then issued a default notice for £12.00 what other antics are they up to. I will investigate. We should all challange this system that amounts to a form of discrimination against individuals Watch for more news from me.

“membership a bit of a scam really”

Written on: 15/07/2012

You can find hidden away a £2 option for the report. I would suggest this. The membership includes 7 of insurance..against what!? I didn't ask to buy insurance. I asked to buy a credit report. Very frustrating Experian....Boom boom! Additionally, I found even the £2 option a poor user experience. I would happily pay (as you used to) £5 for my instant full score and report when I want it. £15 a month...WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING experian. Plus its ironic, getting people to take on more monthly… Read Full Review
