“Rubbish”

Written on: 20/11/2013

Rubbish service, useless staff and inconsistencies on my credit report, they have me and my brother as having joint finances together even though I've never had nothing with him! They take £14.99 for a useless service they talk about getting people out of debt but they can't I successfully got myself out of debt myself without the need of a debt management company and with very useful help from the internet. Like previous posters have stated they lower my credit score every month one month… Read Full Review

“Difficult to leave”

Written on: 12/11/2013

I asked to leave after the 30 day trial but they kept on and on about other services etc. In the end I agreed to take the £2.00 pcm service just to get off the phone. I rang again later and was told if I cancel, I was leaving myself wide open to identity fraud. I spoke to the bank who told me that was rubbish. I rang again and they said people was looking at my credit score which worried me. I spoke to the bank again, they said ring Experian again and if no joy they would give me a phone… Read Full Review

“Crashing credit scores”

Written on: 07/11/2013 by Michael2035 (2 reviews written)

I have been with these jokers for a couple of years now, they continuously lower my score, I have never missed a payment, always paid on time, always paid more than the minimum payment and cleared several accounts yet my score is 422 very poor, they are very heavy handed with negatives and have never added positives, so it spirals down to the point where my current credit cards are saying I am now a risk and want to take them back ,what !!! they are destroying me I I am helpless to do anything… Read Full Review

“Despicable ”

Written on: 04/11/2013

I have just finished my accounts and have therefore gone through my bank statements with a fine tooth comb and found each month experian (creditexpert.co.uk) have been taking £14.99 from my account. I spoke with my bank who have cancelled the payment but have said I should continue to monitor my account as experian can change their name or amount taken and it would still go through. I have NO record of ever completing my experian application for credit checking - the emails I have from them… Read Full Review

“£2 Statutory report nightmare”

Written on: 19/09/2013

Don't bother even trying to get one of these. It's a complete nightmare and it takes days/week for them to send you your login details to be able to access it on-line. Much better to go with one of the other Credit Reference Agencies. Whilst still waiting for access to my Experian report, I used Equifax and as was able to see the information I wanted straight away on-line… Read Full Review

“Experian Credit Report”

Written on: 24/08/2013

Worse than useless. They made it impossible to check my credit rating some time ago. Now I am in the business of remortgaging which is being held up because my new lender says that Experian have no record of my existing mortgage which we have had for over 8 years. Goodness knows how much damage these comedians can do… Read Full Review

“Total rip off”

Written on: 08/08/2013

I used their site once, on the 30 days 'free trial'. Had to give credit card details supposedly to confirm my identity. For 6 months this company charged me membership fees, despite my request not to bill me and delete my credit card details as I did not wish to become a member. I emailed, wrote a letter, phoned customer service, all to no avail, they completely ignore requests to cancel membership and continue to deduct fees. Be warned!!!!… Read Full Review

“Waste of time and effort”

Written on: 05/08/2013 by experiansuckballs (1 review written)

terrible customer service. even cancelling the account is made difficult by making you do it over the phone rather than through their website where everything else is done. spent the whole time on the phone saying no to other services they were offering. also told me nothing about my credit score i didnt already know and ways to improve it which are common knowledge like signing up to the electorial role. complete waste… Read Full Review

Millions of people are having their lives ruined by Experian. It's in their interest for you to have bad credit, that's how they make their money. I'm sorry for your circumstance, but it sounds like a mirror of my own, i have a similar salary, have been in the same mortgaged property for the past 10 years, that now has quite substantial capital in it, and I have never defaulted on paying personal loans or credit cards.. I too have recently been rejected on a mobile contract and I'm at a loss of how to improve my rating, as I too will need to consider moving and applying for a new mortgage in the future.

The situation is now starting to really upset me, and is affecting my outlook for my families future

“avoid monthly charges”

if you only want your two pound credit report and don't want to be dragged into a monthly contract it's simple. Send them the cash and they can't take anymore. why do you think they want your credit or debit card details, so they can keep charging you… Read Full Review

“Dunno what all the fuss is about?”

Written on: 16/06/2013

It clearly states that you'll get a 30 day free trial and after they will actually take £14.99 per month from your account. This is what happens when stupid people don't read the terms and conditions first. The number is easy to get hold of, and also easy to cancel, you just have to remember to do it before they charge you… Read Full Review

the number is NOT easy to get a hold of.

1) You need to log in, search in the help section as it's buried in one of the sections, and
2) you need to call them during the day, and it won't be free from a mobile phone

Solutions? Cancel onlne. You sign up online. Why not, given that you sign up online!

Joannatheplanna's Comment

I wrote to state I wanted to cancel after a few days (well within the 30 day trial period). I also phoned to confirm this. When I called I refused an extension to the free trial period and declined further products/services. Then forgot all about it, thinking I had done all that was required. Months later had a nasty shock to discover that they have been debiting my account with £14.99 per month. Now state the burden of proving I called to cancel is mine and I have to waste my personal and precious time reporting them to the FSO and OFT. I am neither an idiot, imbecile, nor disorganised. The 30 day free trial is only free when they follow instructions to cancel, which they did not.

I have recently applied by post for my credit report from Equifax I wrote a hand written letter giving all my address details full name and date of birth everything they would need as I researched what information is needed and three weeks later AFTER cashing the cheque they wrote to me asking for my address yes the address they had written to me at and for my name again they had my full name on the letter, they asked for my signature which was on the bottom of the hand written letter! Having recently been the victim of fraud I signed up to Noddle and Experian without too much fuss so I could keep am eye on transactions. I tried to sign up to Equifax and had similar problems as detailed above. They wanted a copy of a utility bill plus driving licence or passport. I am not prepared to send copies of sensitive ID documents to anyone, let alone a company I know nothing about. The documents could end up in anyone's hands.

“Extremely poor”

Written on: 21/05/2013 by OIOIOIOI (1 review written)

Towards the end of my free trial I attempted to call on several occasions to cancel but my call was never answered. I managed to get through only AFTER the trial had ended and I had been charged the membership rate. Very unhelpful opening hours, no option to cancel online - there should be no excuse for that option. Will never be using them again… Read Full Review

“Pointless, confusing and feels more like a scam”

Written on: 09/05/2013

After going through the whole hassle of registering, waiting for the NOT secure method of posting my access code through the post, I eventually get my report. The report is virtually meaningless. I am a web developer, and video game developer, and found the information to be confusing, and when I worked it out realised that it pretty much told me NOTHING. To add insult to injury they continued to bill me even when I had cancelled. Also the process of cancelling was so buried and convoluted… Read Full Review

“Save your money.”

Written on: 28/04/2013

I'm with Experian purely through my bankcard and so receive reports the moment my credit rating changes up or downwards. I took out insurance for my laptop (KNOWHOW) and when they mucked up the first months direct debit (£7.50) my credit rating went down a grade. Despite quickly sorting this out with KNOWHOW- Experian wouldn't rectify my grade. This month I paid off a large loan and you've guessed it- not the slightest upward move. I'm simply paying off what debt I have as soon as possible and… Read Full Review

Go to moneyclaim.gov.uk. Claim, then go to the FCA and ask them why they authorise this sort of behaviour
