This is the 3rd time we have used the car people and each time I have experienced no issues with either the looking for a car, the purchasing or the aftercare, they even took my old and non running car away and used it as a part ex against another. Buying a car is probably one of the things that I least like doing but the car people in Sheffield made it as easy and as painless as possible. The most positive aspect of the service for me was the fact that the staff aren't at all intrusive but are there to answer questions and help out when you need them, no pressurised selling at all. staff obliging but gave wrong information about a car I was looking for cost me a 60 mile journey when I bought a car they were very obliging could not do enough when collecting the car the work they were going to carry out was not done to my satisfaction and had a week to complete it took them just 30mins to complete while I waited upon collecting the car told I had a 90 day warranty read the small print I took mine back with a tracking problem after a week and was told 72 hrs only on… Read Full Review

We try to be crystal clear over what the 90 day warranty covers, including what is covered in the first 72 hours, which is listed first on the document we give our customers at handover. We understand there is a lot to cover at handover, so anything that was not made clear to you will not have been intentional, so again we apologise for that and hope we can resolve your issue swiftly.

the car people got in touch with and I took the car back to the dealer I got the car from not the branch nearest to myself and the matter was resolved to my satisfaction they were very apologetic and while I was there a small paint job had been overlooked they loaned me a courtesy car and the paint job was done also so sorry to the car people and thank you for a job well done common sense is still used by the car people and thanks once again

“Terrible customer service”

I would totally agree with a previous comment in that the customer service you receive at the car people deteriorates considerably after you have bought a car. I booked my car in for an MOT and service using their online booking system as I bought the years warranty with the car. After doing this I was emailed to say they couldn't do a service at the time I had booked (pretty pointless having an online booking system then). After raising this with the customer service manager, he was able to trace your details on our system. He tells us MOT slots are allocated and once a tester has clocked on to one MOT he can’t stop and start another until the first one is finished, though we ensured that your car was made priority once the tester had finished with the previous one. He also informed us that he will speak to the staff who dealt with you with regards to their attitude towards you.

“Still haven't paid for my traded in car”

Before you buy the car the customer service is excellent but after sales is terrible. Over a month after I purchased a new car I am still waiting for the finance to be settled on the car I traded in. They continue to lie about when it was paid, never return calls and pass me from person to person. Excellent service again. This is the fifth car that we have purchased from The Car People and once again we received brilliant service. We settled on a Ford Kuga and he explained everything about the vehicle. The only problem was that the car was white and I didnt want it in white! “Selling death traps”

2 days after picking up our car that had had an mot at car people the brakes failed causing an accident! At first they admitted liability and that it was human error that the caliper hadn't been bolted on properly, they expected us to accept this. When we got in touch with trading standards who said what they had done was criminal and could have caused catastrophic accidents the car people decided to start lying and that it was a part failure and not human error after all.
