“STAY AWAY”

written by ShaylaKemp on 14/03/2021

Broadband supposed to go live 12/03/2021 told us live by 5pm...the midnight. Yesterday...still not live. Called...got told live by 5pm...still not active...they told us live by midnight and it can take up to 24 hours. Been on the phone for over 1 hour this morning to be told “active 24-48 hours” . Each person telling you different and still NO internet! No offer of resolving this just told to “wait until midnight” AGAIN! Cancelling and going elsewhere! AWFUL service!

A complain was made to vodafone and despite number of follow-ups, there is no update what happened after this.

“Unacceptable customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 252Bell on 20/02/2019

Vodafone has failed to cancel my monthly rolling contract last year May and kept charging me for services I did not use. There was many many written complaints I wrote to Vodafone and many pointless and expensive phonecalls with them. It took over 8 months to solve anything with them using Resolver as my support while my credit ratings has been badly affected too.Vodafone did not responded to any complaint letters and failed to call me back any time they promised they would. Even finiding any sort of solution with them was hard and dragging even though they recognized the mistakes they made.Unacceptable customer service!I would not recommend anyone using Vodafone as their Mobile broadband.EVER!They are not trustworthy and customer service as such does not exists!

“Don't trust Vodafone! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by mommybearjulie13 on 09/01/2019

I had a contract with Vodafone last year and I'm very disappointed. Not only did they send the items to the wrong address, but after I cancelled the contract (within the cooling off period), they still continued to bill me and it affected my credit rating! I phoned up multiple times and was passed from one person to another. From one department to another. They assured me the contract had been cancelled. However, it was still showing up on my credit report that I owed them more and more money! Eventually I had to go in store and get a member of the team to cancel the "contract." They corrected my credit file. Never ever take out a contract with Vodafone. They can't be trusted with your information!

Vodafone used to be a good but now not anymore. I have 3 contract with Vodafone and I am paying £138 every month with NHS Discount also I have recommend 3 other people with Vodafone, I think I have done biggest mistake recommending them always problem OVERCHARGED, CHARGED FEW MONTHS AFTER CONTRACT, now they are disconnecting their services if I go 2 days extra. My bill date is 25th every month today 28th they disconnected my line I have paid my bills and they are saying take up-to 48 hours. not only that they are reporting credit agency for late payment. I WILL NEVER GO WITH VODAFONE AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND OTHERS TO GO WITH VODAFONE. And I would like to request independence body to review my account because I have been paying big bills since 2009.

“vodafone servies are pathetic”

written by anujaggarwal on 27/04/2018

I was using Airtel services in Delhi India on my number but I was regularly getting calls from Vodafone for port out.. I thought I should try to use my number in Vodafone because sometimes (once in hundred times)I didn't get service in Airtel (once in hundred times). I gave my documents for port out into Vodafone. Then after few days my number port out into Vodafone and I put up my sim card into my handset from that day till today I am not getting any services neither calling services nor internet services. Most of the time my number is not reachable OR All lines are buzy if someone tries to call me and I never get any 4g and 3g internet in my phone even though I am using iPhone 7 plus. Few days ago I was out of town means I was outside Delhi and I was getting no services in signals. I suffered for 5 days. I tried to reach Vodafone for help I had logged a complaint on 3rd April and they took a time of 7 days to sort out my problem but they didn't do anything for me. Even today its 27th April I again called them to help me and to sort out my problem but they are unable to help me. Now I am asking them to release my number so that I can port out my number into Airtel or some other company but they are saying you can't and you have to suffer with Vodafone services for 90 Days. Please help me out guys or allow me to port out my number into some other carrier before 90 days on special request or something. I never recommend anyone to use Vodafone at any cost. Please stay away from Vodafone. Thanks

“Couldn't be trusted with a Goldfish! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MeJulie121 on 01/03/2018

I would give no stars if I could that's how bad my experience was! I took out a contract with Vodafone and everything was fine until it needed renewing. First of all they sent the new phone to the wrong address, but still expected payment! I gave them my new address again and it still wasn't delivered to me. So while I was still within the cooling off period I phoned up and cancelled the contract. Only they didn't cancel the contract from their end! They were billing me every month for a contract I had cancelled and a phone I didn't receive! I rang up multiple times about the situation and was passed from one person to another and was told the contract "had been cancelled" although I was still being billed! I cancelled the direct debit and they then went on to affect my credit rating even though I was trying to resolve the issue! On the end I went into a Vodafone shop and spoke to someone face to face. It was then that we discovered that they cancelled the new contract I took out but shortly after opened a new one with MY details and WITHOUT my consent! Also they still sent the new phone to the old address for a second time round while they opened this new account! Thankfully going into the store was the end of the issue. I would say NEVER EVER EVER trust Vodafone with your details. They took mine and made a new account without my permission and I nearly had debt collectors at my door because of it! I wouldn't trust them with a Goldfish!

“Avoid like the plague”

★☆☆☆☆

written by LillyHawkins on 20/12/2017

Avoid like the plague. They lied to me about my contract and I now have an unexpected bill of £118 after switching phones. I would have gladly paid an extra £7 a month for unlimited calls, instead they told me I had unlimited calls, I have a charge of £83 because they only gave me 500min. After 14 years of loyal custom with Vodafone this is the last 2 years of my custom they'll ever have.

“Extremely Poor Customer Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JGreen78 on 16/11/2017

had been a customer for approx. 9 years and ordered am upgrade phone. The phone never arrived from DPD but they had a signature. Vodafone believed DPD over me even after DPD swore they had CCTV footage of the signature and when I challenged this to get a copy, 10 days later said they don't have any. Vodafone stated that this was my dispute between the me and the signatory. I could not cancel my contract without returning the phone. 45 days later when they finally decided to review the strong evidence I had managed to gather (sent after 20 days) they finally agreed that this was not my fault. I ended our relationship at that point and good riddance to them. I recommend everyone to steer clear of them.

Having been a loyal customer with Vodafone for a number of years they decide to repay my loyal service with deceitful, underhand extra charges just so they could make extra money from one of their customers. I would have renewed my contract but not now.I do not want something for nothing. Just honest open charges. I will never return to Vodafone.

“Cut off Pay-as-you-go service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by John470 on 28/07/2017

My wife has a small pay-as-you-go mobile that is for use in an emergency. This mobile has just been switched off by Vodafone without any prior notice. When asked why, they said it had not been used for 3 months and that the number was now lost to us. This is appalling business strategy as we will now never use Vodafone again having switched to O2. We further benefit as O2 provides a good signal in a Dorset village we visit regularly for which Vodafone provides negligible coverage. My mobile is also currently on the Vodafone network but will be changed to another network when next replaced, so Vodafone will have lost two customers!

“THE WORST”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Baxtertq37 on 26/06/2017

It's one of the worst networks ever. I bought an IPhone 7 More than a month ago with a data plan. Then I wanted to unlock the phone so I could use a different sim with a different carrier. They said wait 3 months. Since I'm a regular customer they let me off and lowered it to 1 month. Then I waited 1 month and it still wasn't unlocked Then I called them and they said sorry it's Apples problem, so I called apple and they said it was Vodafones so I called them back and they said wait 48 hours which I did . Again it didn't work , so I called them and they said another 48 hours and now I just checked it and again I will have to call them

“Overcharging ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Weelass on 21/05/2017

I have been a Vodafone customer for 13 years. I trusted Vodafone as everything was great for tye first few years.then last year I noticed my bill almost doubled.I phoned Vodafone and they knew it was not right and sorted it. I then started to look back all my bill. To my shock for about 5 years they had been charging me for things I used or had. I contacted them and was basically shouted at by customer services, I was trying to explain where and when it all started but he would not listen. For months I was neve off the phone as I would ask for copies of my bills that I did not have, was give the run around for almost 5 months. I then said I would pay no more and and was going to ombudsman to get it resolved. I was not owe them money but they cut my phone off and told me I would get it back on when they had requested paperwork that they had to get back within theor own company. A man named omar in customer resolutions team blatantly lied to me on the phone and he and his senior left me on hold for almost an hour for no reason. All this resulted in bank charges even affecting my credit scoreand was paying for a phone contract that they turned off.luckily I had all the evidence to prove that they had been over charging me. They then offered me me £357. Off my bill but I was never even owe that money in the first place so all they were doing was correcting their mistakes. I spent 7 months having to get it sorted some days I would have to call 5 or 6 times as they would say yes sort it now then wasn't. For all the hassle and stress of being lied to almost every day for 7 months having no phone and credit score affected. They offered me nothing. They said as a good will gesture they would wipe the bill that I never owed them. That was only for last year. I will now be going back to ombudsman with all my evidence of bills bank statements of when it started 5 as I never got the past bills resolved. Feel totally let down by a company I had been with 13 years and was treated in a discussing manner through it all. Can definitely say I won't be renewing my contact and wI'll be not recommending them to friends and family

“vodafone sucks big time”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ValentinoMeadows164 on 21/05/2017

I want to file a complaint with Vodafone as well. I contacted Vodafone support months ago to get my broadband account closed since I'm not using it anymore since August 2016. Very frustrating is the fact that every time I get feedback from another person in Egypt or India who doesn't read the history of my request. Anyway, I had to pay 390 Euro in one time to get my account closed. I paid that amount and the Support person informed that my balance was 0 Euro. One month later I get a new invoice of 45 Euro. I contacted Vodafone support again and Mr. 'Alaa AbouElFath' urged me to pay the 45 Euro since there was 1 month notice. Sorry but what is Vodaofone doing here???

Try their chatline. At least with that one you can get a transcript of your chat and therefore a record of any rubbish they give you. If you get no satisfaction from the advisor either on chatline or phone you must ask them to escalate your query/complaint and you will get a supervisor but they are also very good at not answering questions. And they will also try to pacify you by offering you a tiny refund of a couple of pounds but if you pester them non stop by mail and chat the refund offered will go up and up. You could also post on their facebook :Vodafone UK. I did several times and had this reply which may be useful to you if you carry on having no signal. Re: complaint [#6172885] Vodafone UK commented on your post. Vodafone UK wrote: "Hi. No network garauntees 100% coverage 100% of the time, it's the nature of the network. Vodafone are shambolic with their customer service. Try through chat and if you don't have any luck, tell them that you want to make a complaint and that you will be contacting Ofcom, I find that gives them the kick they need.

I was on a 300 free minutes for calls at £10.50 a month but my bill for April and May came to £277.69. I knew I was going over my minutes as I was involved with a project and needed to be in constant touch, but didn't realise how expensive their out of free minutes calls were. So I rang up on May 27 and paid it and also asked if I could increase my minutes. I was offered 300 further free minutes for an extra £3 a month, bringing free minutes to 600. However, I said I didn't think that would be enough, as I'd gone over my 300 free minutes up to 1,200 and so asked if there was a tariff for a higher amount of free minutes. He said that 600 was all he had to offer and I'd need to make fewer calls! Consequently, as I guessed, I went over the 600 and my June bill came to £299! On June 17, I rang to ask for help again. This time a man told me breezily that for £21 a month I could have unlimited free minutes! I asked why I hadn't been told this in May and he said I should have been told. He said he could not refund the extortionate bill. Then I learnt my bill was £201 for July up to only the 17th! I have made numerous calls complaining about this to no avail. What should I do?

Thanks for answering this question.

These mobile companies will try every trick to suck the money from their customers. Very first thing you need to do is send a letter to their customer service and keep the post receipt. Tell them you were not informed properly and its their employee mistake who did not know all bout talk plans. Request them to refund or ask them to give the reason for not refunding. All this should be on paper. 1. Take these papers and submit a ombudsman case with the Telecom ombudsman and provide all proof of communication and their response. 2. Take all this info and call Citizen Advice Bureau, which is a free service and very helpful. They can advise you if you have a case. 3. If CAB says that you have a case then you can think of going to small claims court where you can get the compensation upto £5000. But this will involve some fees etc so please read more first. I hope this helps.

Well, from my experience, this is typical Vodafone. Speak to 10 different advisors and you will get 10 different answers. I think they make it up as they go along. If I were you, I would go on their chat line, explain the problem and as you probably won't get a satisfactory answer, ask them to escalate the complaint. A manager will contact you, but be prepared for a lot of question dodging and not many straight answers. At the end of you chat ask for a transcript of the chat to be sent to your e-mail and keep that safe along with any records of other conversations either by text, email or phone for when you eventually decide to complain directly to the ombudsman. As for getting any money back from them, good lluck with that but only if you are prepared to hassle them again and again. I can tell you one thing though. When I came to the end of my contract and told them I wanted to cancel it, I had 2 or 3 calls offering me "special" deals. This, I politely declined as the service and after care I have had was awful. So I asked if I could go on pay as u go with the same number. No problem they said. They sent me the wrong size SIM, told me they were not able to sent me a micro sim and I should go to a shop to swap it. Why can you order 3 types of SIMs on their website then? Anyways, they sent a micro sim which cannot be activated, unless it's on contract. So in short, I now have 3 useless SIMs and I cannot use my phone. Either they useless or they don't care once they've got your money

Ditch the so and so's, and move to a more customer friendly outfit, such as Virgin, who have better coverage anyway. Vodafone are corporate monsters who shaft everyone they can to make as much profit as they can, whilst paying as little of their taxes in the UK as they can. They only care about their share price, and not their customers.

Thanks for replies everyone! I did try LiveChat and it was like talking to an illiterate automaton. Not one manager has said they would investigate the matter properly, such as listening to my first phone call backing up all I'm saying. They really are trained well aren't they - to lie to and cheat their customers. I've written to complaints now and I know what the answer will be. However, I am now gearing up to take them to the Ombudsman. A shocking company, with an unethical, amoral and desperate workforce earning a pittance. Sad, really.
Report this content roughcutjrd Written on: 04/08/2014
As with all the answers already provided you are receiving their standard customer service. Search for my review which is about data charges / usage & a lack of response. I left in February and moved to GiffGaff which uses the O2 network and charges you on a month to month basis so you can increase or decrease as required. Was I skeptical of them, yes but as you are only in for one month (£10) there is minimal risk. Back to Vodafone, ensure you submit an official complaint first, then you can upgrade it to the ombudsman as this forms part of your submission. Good luck with getting out (ask for a cancellation) and make sure you let as many people know as possible. Slowly but surely they will realise that customers come first.

Contact Ofcom and make a formal complaint. Vodafone are shocking, just keep at them and keep posting negative comments on their facebook page because they don't like this.
