Impressed by a presentation at the Home Show, my three girlfriends and I each bought one of these irons. The apparent stellar performance however, did not continue at home. The iron goes from releasing water all over the fabric to burning your hand while attempting to use it. Unlike the demo, ironing one side of a piece of clothing does not remove wrinkles from the other, nor does holding it over buttons to smooth fabric.. None of us is able to hold the iron without a facecloth wrapped around… Read Full Review

I have tried to use this iron several times since my purchase. I even sent it back to Redfern and they checked it over and said it was working properly. So I guess if instead of steam you want wet fabric it is working properly. And if you don't mind getting your hand overheated if you use for any length of time then it is working properly.
I feel I threw my $200.00 in the trash for all the service I have gotten out of this iron.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
i WOULD… Read Full Review

Replacement O rings which keep steam from escaping were $15.00 for three (3). Replacements should have been around 50 cents. The iron and prts are way overpriced… Read Full Review

I like the iron. The steam from the iron actually irons the clothes. It does a great job. Using steam, rather than a hot iron, seems easier on the clothes.
The water runs out too often though. It needs to be refilled more often than a traditional steam iron. Users have to be patient because when refilling the iron,it must be turned off and it takes a few minutes for the water to heat up in the iron before you can start using it again. I would still recommend the iron though because it… Read Full Review

Home show demonstrator promised the iron would steam for more than one hour. It doesn't even last 10 minutes. Spews water, ruins clothes.
Repair on warranty is at your shipping cost and "repair fee".
Very poor quality item, undependable, unreliable. Save your money, buy a $30 Chinese iron instead!… Read Full Review

I truly love this iron...I have properly maintained it....and it's as good as the day I bought it at the home show. I know this iron will last a long time. I use distilled water and clean the tank faithfully every 3 mths. As well, like any electrical item, I don't leave it plugged in and turned on for several hours at a time. This iron performed perfect results on a wedding gown, 2 Scottish kilts and several window treatments, not to mention the regular ironing tasks. As an avid sewer, I can't… Read Full Review

I do love this iron when it works. However, it has frightening moments when it literally explodes with steam from the front handle area. I mean explodes !!!!
It is very sudden can make you jump if you aren't expecting it.
I would love to find a similar iron from another maker if there is a better one on the market. There may be a crack in the base, though I have NEVER dropped or mishandled it.
I worry about it's safety as a result… Read Full Review

I have TWO of these EUROSTEAM irons.... yes they work well WHEN they work. Durablity is a serious problem.... They spit, they overheat, they require frequent refilling, they melt and the cord on one needed replacing. I don't know why they are so costly when they are so 'disposable'. I really enjoyed using it (when it worked) I quilt and it was great for that. Each iron lasted less than a year - so if you are willing to pay that much each year then give it a try. I would really like to know… Read Full Review

Purchased the iron at a home show. Demo was great. We felt a bit pricey but made the purchase anyway. It is very overrated. It does a good job ironing everything however there were problems. The handle gets very hot. The steam button constantly sticks. It runs out of steam in about two or three garments. Have to let cool down before refilling. The back plate cracked and had to be replaced. It is much heavier than a normal iron. I will not buy another one… Read Full Review

I bought this iron at a trade show. The demonstration was very convincing but when I began to use it I was disappointed. It runs out of water quickly and you end up filling it 3 or 4 times per ironing session. My biggest compaint about it is the handle. After about 6 months I noticed the handle was sticky. With time it is getting worse and worse. I have now had to take nail polish remover to see if I can get off the gummy coating that is all over the handle. If I can't get it off I will not be… Read Full Review

I have tried over 20 irons from 50 dollars to $600.00 and this one it's the BEST. No settings no starch needed and it's super fast. The downfault is that you have to constantly put water but with the time you save it's worth every penny. Everyone in my family owns one now. I cAN SEE MYSELF WITHOUT IT… Read Full Review

I bought this iron on a sewing show 3 years ago. At home I noticed that a piece broke off. When I tried to contact the customer service, I thought that this company is actually not existing. Neither e-mail nor telephone was answered. So I thought that $300 were a waist. 3 weeks and several e-mails later I finally got a mail from them. But as an inpatient sewer I tried the iron meanwhile, liked it and never send it in.(warranties anyway do not cover labor)
Once it's heated up to steam (after… Read Full Review

I have had this iron for about 4 1/2 years and it dropped and now will not heat up. While trying to find someone to repair it I have gone thru 3 other irons trying to find one that will work as good as this one. Finally found an on line site where I could purchase a new one and I am. Yay will finally have the best iron anywhere back again… Read Full Review

Have owned my Eurosteam for 6 yrs, sending it in for a minor repair now. I'm also going to purchase a second one in case this ever happens again. I despise ironing but this iron makes it so much easier. For those of you who dislike it, you must be doing something wrong.

I just bought this iron at the Vancouver Design Show, and it seemed to work at the show, but the one I brought home is a different story.
I bought it to use it vertically and iron hanging clothes. Even on its strongest setting, the iron is not efficient, and does not take care of more than half the wrinkles.
After I steamed my shirts, I had to lay them on the ironing table, and iron them the normal way; which my $20 iron did just as good.
Overall, a total waste of money!… Read Full Review

I bought this iron from a home show on January 28, 2006. I have loved it! It just now stopped working correctly - not sure why yet. But the fact that it can be used on all fabrics - even the most delicate - with no fear of burning, melting or krinkling makes it worth the extra cost. I'm going to another home show tomorrow to get a new one and then will have the old one repaired for a backup. I'm lost without it!… Read Full Review

Bought the iron at the fair after other users came by and raved about how wonderful it was. It was great for about 2 months--quick, effective, easy-- and then started spewing water instead of steam and soaking the clothes. I went through the cleaning process twice. Then, the clothes smelled like vinegar and after one use, water spewed again. Could never locate a repair facility. Went back to my Rowenta. I wish it worked because it was great when it did. But, not worth $300 for 2 months!… Read Full Review

I too bought this iron at a home show and bought their pitch. We do iron around this house. An iron would last about 2 years. Two years passes, iron handle starts getting hot, hotter. Off/on switch burned up! You do have to wait 5 minutes for it to heat up. If you overfill it, waters appears on your garment.Shipping and repairs are yours for a pricey fee($50-60) Just for shipping and problem solving, NO REPAIRS! I will stick to my $50 irons every 2 years. If they have such a GOOD product, stand… Read Full Review

I purchased this Iron at a home and garden show in Edmonton. i was vey impressed with the demonstrations and I had to get my hands on one. I don't like ironing so I thought that this would cut down on the amount of time that I iron. However, this was not really the case.
I found that it takes about the same amount of iron as it takes with my $5 garage sale iron. the problem is that you need to take the time to fold the bottom of fabric so that it is flat so that you can iron both sides and… Read Full Review

At first I when I showed some of my girlfriends this iron I demostrated it incorrectly. Did not have the settings properly set. I now know how to set this iron and I have not looked back since. I now even iron my sheets and pillow cases as it is so effecient. You can iron anything with this iron and not worry about the temperature of it scorching your delicate materials.
One of my best purchases ever I would like one for my other home too!… Read Full Review
