“Bad deal”

Written on: 04/12/2014 by Adan170 (1 review written)

I purchased one 2 years ago on QVC. It was a great iron and I particularly liked ironing with steam without a burning hot plate to scorch my clothes. Unfortunately, it died after about a year. I bought another one it also died after about one year. I sent the second one back to Redfern for repair and they were going to charge me more to fix it than if I purchased a new one (plus shipping). Poor consumer service… Read Full Review

“Sucker”

Written on: 05/11/2014 by Ashly269 (1 review written)

I am ashamed to say I purchased this iron on the spur of the moment after watching a demo at a quilt show. What a stupid thing to do. The handle gets very hot, water flows out when pressing steam button etc. Not happy at all. So sorry I didn't read reviews before purchasing. It's also very heavy… Read Full Review

Did you contact Redfern Enterprises to see if they could help? I did and I had my unit repaired and it works perfectly again. After the first year you have to pay for repairs but it is worth it.

“handle too hot”

Written on: 31/10/2014 by Noble483 (1 review written)

Loved it at first, told everybody how great it was, even enjoyed ironing, then it happened, the handle got too hot. I did use it for two years. Put a new o-ring on it but that didn't fix the problem. I hate the thought of using a normal iron but at least the handle won't burn me… Read Full Review

I sent mine in for repairs when this happen for me. They replaced the valve and the unit as worked well since.

They also let me know to clean the boiler with 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water every 2-3 months. I do that now and I have not had another issue.

“200.00 lesson learned. ”

Written on: 30/10/2014 by D621 (1 review written)

Buyer beware. This is a 200.00 piece of junk. Shame on me for falling into the category of impulse buyer. The demonstration was pretty impressive. Unfortunately the performance at home was nothing close. Water pours out all over everything. I've followed the directions. Not overfilled. It cools off and then you have to wait to use it again. Not impressed and embarrassed that I fell for it. I now have a 200.00 boat anchor. Shame on Redfern… Read Full Review

Why do you say shame on Redfern? Did you call them and let them know what is happening? People shouldn't be so quick to blame if they have not tried to find help.

I in fact did contact Redfern and was told in no uncertain terms that they would not and didn't have to do anything to remedy the situation. I was advised to look at my receipt which clearly states no refunds no exchanges. Maybe you should get all the facts before you use the Internet to chastise someone for being "so quick to blame".

“Beware”

Written on: 08/10/2014 by spalser (1 review written)

This iron is a $200 piece of junk. Worked great in the beginning but after a while the handle started to get hot. I paid another $20.00 to send it off and get repaired and they sent me back another one. I used that maybe 6 times and the handle started to get hot again. Now after $250.00 including tax I have a piece of junk. They will gladly allow me to send it in and they would fix it for an additional fee. Like I have a big "L" on my forehead. Seriously...............don't do it. Save… Read Full Review

“handle hot”

Written on: 13/09/2014 by truelytwo (1 review written)

My Eurosteam iron's handle is so hot, I can't use it without a pot holder or glove on my hand. What would cause this issue? It still irons fine, but it scares me. I've had it sitting on my ironing board and loved it when I first got it. For as expensive as it was (got it at quilt show and the vendor has not returned the last couple of years.) I still have the travel iron - new in the box, but need to know where or if this can be repaired. It says return to place you bought it - which… Read Full Review

“READ BEFORE BUYING”

Written on: 09/09/2014 by HomemakerReviewCenter (1 review written)

I bought a Redfern Eurosteam Iron at a trade show, from one of those demo booths It takes quite a while to build up steam, and then emits a steady stream of steam constantly-whether down on fabric or upright. Because the steam does not shut off when the iron is parked upright, water is wasted, causing the iron to require refilling often. However, you cannot open the iron while it is hot or scalding steam will spurt out the refill port when the cap is removed. There are only three steam ports on… Read Full Review

If you read your instructions you would know you are not supposed to leave it in the upright position. I love this iron and use it every day with my sewing business. It is in the down position and on for hours. I do release the pressure when I think of it be depressing the button for a split second. I do not find that it wastes water by sitting idle. Parking it upright cause the loss and you are not following mamufacturers instructions,

“From love to hate!”

Written on: 14/08/2014 by vwDowling497 (1 review written)

I purchased my first Eurosteam Iron several years ago and yes it did take a while to get the hang of it, but after that it was the best iron I ever used. After a few years, it stopped working and I opted to purchase another. Well, BIG DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY! The first iron I purchased was made in Italy the second iron is made in China and the second iron is junk! And yes, I even clean the tank with vinegar and follow all of the instructions. It does not work and is now not worth the money!!… Read Full Review

Same with mine. I loved it at first and within a few months, it completely stopped emitting steam. When cleaned, little shards of metal were coming out. They look like threads of a screw or something. Can not get to work within a year.

“Don't buy it!”

Written on: 09/06/2014

I watched a live demo. It ironed through layers of wrinkled fabric, steamed out wrinkles of hanging dresses. When I used mine, water dripped out of the iron, stained the top of my ironing board, unless I used best press, I couldn't get wrinkles out of one layer of fabric. When I used steam, my entire fabric was wet. Their customer service is terrible. Sent return labels to an entire different email (even though they repeated it back to me). Made it sound as if I didn't know what I was doing. I… Read Full Review

“Wish I had believed the reviews!”

Written on: 09/06/2014 by Hartleyeu192 (1 review written)

I purchased my iron at a quilt expo, and broke my own rule to always to research first. After I got home I read the reviews and felt uneasy. I read my manual thoroughly, watched the video, and tried my iron after following priming / cooling directions. Guess what? It would not get the wrinkles out of a thin cotton shirt. I tried other fabrics...same thing. Finally in discust,, I got out my old cheap iron, a spray bottle of water and continued ironing with perfect results! I was so… Read Full Review

“Don't Buy!”

Written on: 29/05/2014 by ironmaidenII (1 review written)

Afiter no more than 6 uses the staem button got stuck in the on position which means you can't stop the flow of steam without unplugging it. The company who services the iron here in the U.S. won't do anything for you without a receipt or other proof of purchase. Upon further review, I see many other users had the same or similar problems and got no satisfaction from the customer service people either… Read Full Review

“Peice of Garbage”

Written on: 29/03/2014 by srSinclair66 (1 review written)

I purchased this iron on the weekend at the Syracuse fair in new York. I unpacked it and was very excited to try it for the fist time. I try to ironed five of my work dress shirts it was like I was washing them, what I mean they were soak in water what a piece of expensive garbage, here I thought this was a great buy. Then I stated ironing my duvet cover and it shut off and has lost power. I let it cool down because I thought maybe it over heated. I have now waited two hours and it still does… Read Full Review

I have really enjoyed my Eurosteam iron but did experience a similar issue with water leaking onto my shirt. I found that I was over filling the boiler with water. I put in enough water to just below the fill line in the little measure cup and I don't add anymore until I am sure that the boiler is empty. Try the 1-800 number for the power issue, they have helped me in the past and I am sure that they will help you too.

Very mean spirited towards the demonstration lady. She was doing her job showing what the iron can do and no on forced you to buy one, you made that choice yourself!

“Love this Iron!”

Written on: 16/03/2014

I have had my Eurosteam for around 2 years now and I won't ever use another iron. It's fantastic for everything! I don't understand the negative comments at all - one has to follow the directions, clean the iron periodically, and not overfill it. I love it especially for heavy pants and jeans, my linen tablecloth, and freshening up jackets etc. I can get through several pairs of pants and other items in no time at all, and it's almost fun to use! I would never want to be without my… Read Full Review

“Love this iron! ”

Written on: 31/08/2013 by ChiaraL (1 review written)

The iron is a miracle! It has never burned or ruined any of my clothing. I've been through so many irons and they all rusted and ruined my clothes. The eurosteam is also so easy to use and it makes ironing fun which is unheard of. The steam that comes out of the boiler is so powerful and it's dry so it has never gotten any of my clothes wet. As long as you read all the instructions and make sure your using it right then It will work wonders for you. Make sure to never overfill it or drop it and… Read Full Review

“I save money!!”

Written on: 28/07/2013 by rmb6279 (1 review written)

This is the only iron will ever touch my clothes! I use to spend between $50-$60 a week on dry cleaning now I spend $0. I save almost $3000.00 last year alone. I almost didn't buy the iron because of some peoples negative reviews on it. It is so easy to use if you follow the instruction right. This is not an iron.. it does not ever burn anything... So for those who iron you must treat yourself to the best ironing tools in the world:) Value for the money more stars should be given… Read Full Review

“Not well built”

Written on: 28/07/2013 by rnbsnjd (1 review written)

You are right, I have the same problem, this iron was good for one year or so now it is spitting water on my clothes and it is ruining the white ones with the water so terribly. I will go and buy a cheaper iron and it will last I am sure much longer than this one. I feel the money was wasted on this.
