“Best investment we have made”

Written on: 13/03/2013 by bmorgan3 (1 review written)

We purchased our iron in 2006, today is 3.13.2013 at the State Fair of Texas. I use and have used the iron at least twice a month since purchase. I love that it is light, easy to use, and steams vertically also. I have and still only use distilled water and never have any problems. I can iron approximately 10 items ( shirts and pants ) before refilling the resivoir. While visiting my family I had to use a regular iron and could not remember how... was awful. I iron my husband's button up… Read Full Review

“$300.00 ”

Written on: 02/03/2013 by zebulonNC56 (1 review written)

I bought this Iron 3 years ago at the Southern Women's Show in Raleigh NC, I watch the Demo Lady work with the Iron for over an hour and loved it. So I spent the money thinking I would not have to buy another Iron for a long time. Well I was So very wrong ! I feel very mislead and cheated. I have had to have the Iron work on once witch cost me $75.00 plus S/H.So at this point the Iron has cost me over $400.00.( I could have bought several Irons) This was just about a year ago, and it needs… Read Full Review

How were you mislead or cheated? You purchased an item that you loved, it had an issue and needed repair. You had it repaired and a year or more later it may need another perhaps small repair and you are some how mislead and cheated?

Target irons are great for simple ironing if you have the time. The Eurosteam is an iron with a boiler inside to create steam pressure that you can NEVER get from a Target iron. You cannot compare the two.

I, personally, feel that over the years you will dispose of your Target irons and get a new one all the time. I will have my unit repaired and maintained as needed and have the same amazing iron years from now and not be filling up the landfill with disposable junk.

“Frustrating”

Written on: 12/12/2012 by MaureenA (1 review written)

Although this is a good iron there are definite problems with getting it repaired. Paying quite a bit for an iron you would expect that the repair service would be much better. Ours has needed repair twice since it was purchased in Feb. 2009. The first time they sent the necessary part and their repairman helped us install it over the phone. This time when we phoned they no longer send out the parts. You can either send the iron to them for repair, paying the shipping both ways and then the… Read Full Review

“Euro Steam ”

Written on: 09/11/2012 by ddhouse (1 review written)

Totally taken in....better half & I. So it wasn't just because I'm blonde. Sales pitch person just elaborated and displayed and gushed and blah, blah, blah about it at the 2012 Mid Atlantic Quilt Show. Gone is $200 for an iron that you CAN NOT hold by bthe handle because it literally burns your palm. Spits, sputters, & yes blows steam, but is unuseable. Trying to get a replacement. Love how it took wrinkles out of anything, but too hot to hold… Read Full Review

“Please don't waste your money”

Written on: 01/11/2012 by quiltmaker (1 review written)

My husband, not me, was the one impressed by the salesmans pitch and bought the Eurosteam Iron. First off it's made in PRC. Peoples Republic of China!!!!. Not once did the salesman mention that. He let you believe it was made in Europe and of good quality. Brought it home, primed it, used it for approximately 6 hours and it quit working. Totally quit working. No light, no heat nothing. Plugged into several different places also. Contacted Redfern in Vegas and shipped it back. They received… Read Full Review

I bought this at the Texas State Fair. I have had zero issues with it until recently. The handle was getting too hot. Even though it was passed my 1 year warranty, they honored it and fixed it for me. turn around time was very quick. Like some others, I'm so glad I didn't read the reviews before getting the EuroSteam iron. I'm on this site only to find an online version of the owner's manual and was surprised to see all the negative reviews. I bought the EuroSteam Iron at a Trade Show more than two years ago. This iron has continued to be a dream-come-true. I will never go back to a regular iron. What's the secret? I'm not sure, really. I use distilled water. I fill the water only to the designated "water line", I always… Read Full Review

I'm so sorry you were disappointed. I bought mine about 7 years ago. You do have to clean it with vinegar once in a while. I had it repaired once, but it's the GREATEST IRON I'VE EVER USED. I don't want to go back to another. You can go from one fabric to another, don't have to dampen cotton shirts, etc. Works on my husband's suits. Maybe you got one that wasn't good, but I'd highly recommend and am looking to get another so I won't ever have to go back to any other iron.

Saying that this product is poorly constructed is a complete understatement. The flimsy plastic that houses its interior fails to adequately support the heft of the iron. The handle grip made cracking noises during my initial use, and continues to do so. The plastic handle top is unsafe--it gets too hot to hold. Further, the top piece of plastic on the handle came off to expose electrical wires, as did the entire casing around the cord, and to the bottom of the iron. You will find sturdier plastic on a child's toy. This was a very expensive iron. For $200, the iron is one hot rip off! Shame on you EuroSteam.

“Absolutely best iron ever!”

Written on: 14/08/2012

I recently read these reviews after having used my EuroSteam Evolution for two years. Thank goodness I didn't see them before my purchase. I iron approximately 20 plus long sleeve 100% cotton shirts in addition to pressing/steaming several pair of men's and women's slacks each week. This experience has changed from hours of drudgery to a semi-fun, very satisfying experience. Ironing silks and polyester is a snap; no more melt marks due to incorrect temperature settings. Two negative… Read Full Review

Interesting observation. I bought mine at a Home and Flower Show more than 6 years ago. Unfortunately, I dropped it one too many times and this morning it lost its sole plate. I ran across your review. I am thinking maybe it was a manufacturing defect. I have had nothing but pleasure from the iron. The one thing that is essential is to empty it after every single use so the sediment does not build up. In addition it does require periodic "deep" cleaning per the instruction manual. I am so sorry you did not experience what I have. I am going to borrow a regular iron and hope not to burn my clothes until my replacement arrives.

Written on: 20/06/2012 by white5075 (1 review written)

I liked the iron for about the first 2 weeks. This is the most expensive piece of sh**t I've ever boought!! I don't iron that much and it's already broken within 1 year. 1)If you don't mind water running all over your clothes and on the floor you are fine. 2) If you don't mind scalding the palm of your hand while you iron you are fine. 3) If you don't mind "no steam" at all while it s draining all on the floor you are fine. Holding the iron is like taking a hot pan out the oven without an… Read Full Review

“Please with Iron”

After purchasing the iron I found negative reviews. I thought, well maybe this will not work out. HOWEVER, I really like this iron. I watched the demonstrator carefully and when the iron arrived I read all the directions and made sure to follow them exactly. The iron works beautifully -- just as demonstrated. I cannot help but think that the people who have had issues with the iron are not following the directions exactly. Of course, in all products, problems will occur from time to… Read Full Review

“waste of money and time ”

Written on: 06/06/2012 by Sunday3 (1 review written)

I purchased my euro steam iron 2.5 years ago. I am so disappointed with it !! it doesn't work as well as the demo by the salesperson. The other thing I spent a fortune - over $200 bucks, what a waste. when the steam runs out, you can forget about finishing your ironing, you need to wait for the whole thing to cool down. Another thing the steam doesn't work as well as it did initially, steam doesn't work on low very well, I have to crank it up which only causes the iron to burst out steam and… Read Full Review

“A Miniature Old Faithful”

Written on: 01/06/2012 by grannykwilts (1 review written)

I mean it blows it's gasket at regular intervals unless I keep the steam valve open. I have been sent three new safety caps by the company but each is the same. After taking it to Ace Hardware I was assured that the O ring was seating properly and they suspected the problem was a flawed spring in the cap that was suppose to only "explode steam" to keep the iron from exploding. Now that was informative, helpful and probably very true. I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I paid $216.00 for… Read Full Review

Is there any chance that you are leaving your iron on but not used for more than 10 minutes at a time? There is a note to quilters on the bottom half of page 9 that says to press the steam button every 10 minutes that it is not in use but plugged in or the safety feature in the screw cap will release the steam through the screw cap. Personally I am glad that the safety feature is there.

It sounds like the safety inside of your cap is blowing. Is there any chance that you are leaving the unit on for more than 10 minutes without releasing the steam? It sounds like you are a quilter and I noticed in my manual that there is a note to quilters near the bottom of page 9 that says to press the steam button every 10 minutes or so or it may release the steam through the screw plug as a safety feature. I have really enjoyed using mine and have never had an issue with the screw cap.

“Don't buy Euro Steam Evolution Iron”

Written on: 19/04/2012

I purchased a Euro Steam iron from Redfern at a Home and Garden Show. I agree with the other reviewers that say that it works best by a demonstator. I have experience with ironing and various brands of irons and I have to say this is the worst I have ever used. It only irons 2-3 garments before it runs out of steam. Watched the demonstration and the girl used it vertically to steam a suit and it worked beautifully but when I tried it at home nothing happened. I tried ironing over plastic… Read Full Review
