This is the second time I have had to claim on my gadget Insurance, once for a broken screen and once for an unexplained shut down. Each time my gadget has been replaced without any hassle and am very pleased that I stopped and invested the money . I was reluctant to take out an insurance policy on 3 items as you hear so many stories about claims not being paid out or complicated claims, but after purchasing two tablets for my children I decided it was necessary. After damaged occurred to one tablet I rang the claims hotline and was immediately talked through the claims process. Really helpful team, clear and to the point. Easy correspondence through email (my favorite) Clear instructions to explain how to send my phone off -1 query which I emailed and was quickly responded to :) Easy payment method - with each staff member easy to speak to and knowledgeable (always useful in these situations but not always the case) My new phone arrived less than a week from my initial claim. For start to finish the whole process was top notch. Emailed the claims department and was contacted very soon after. Asked to produce proof of purchase and from there dealt with a claim handler and then agreed to a repair my phone. I liked I could take it to the apple store for the repair and then supercover would reimburse me, minus my excess, as I knew it would be apple approved repair or replacement. Had to claim on a smashed screen on an iPad mini? Got the authorisation for my claim to go through easy enough fair play. Got given 2 choices for repair. They take the excess payment and then tell me who to send it to for repair or book in to an Apple store and get them to do it, where I pay and they then send me a cheque for the cost minus the excess. Was very easy when initially called to report the accident that had happened to the phone. Easy instructions for postage. Rang within 3 working days of posting to advise the phone couldn't be repaired and would be replaced. Staff were very friendly and polite. Only down side was no loan phone so without a phone for over 7 days. Would recommend to family and friends as inexpensive initial cover in comparison to some companies. to start with they were fine. But then when it came to claiming for my stolen bike, they first tried to give me the equivalent cost in Argos vouchers ( erm, why would I vouchers for a shop which doesn't sell anything like the bike I lost - I bet they wouldn't like it if I tried to pay for my insurance with boots clubcard points or free coffee tokens, which is essential the same thing!) I got Gadget Cover as an extra on my building+contents insurance through Kwik Fit last year as I thought it sounded like good value. I had to make use of the cover on 2 different Tablets within the space of 10 days -- the first was my Asus Fonepad that cracked its screen when it fell out of my hands, and the other was an older Nexus 7 that my mother-in-law had sat on... I was initially offered a different colour handset (same model) which was fine but then I was contacted again some thirty minutes later as the said model had been discontinued and offered an upgrade to a newer model at no extra cost to me.
