  Samsung SH-D163A is a good drive but sadly you cant buy them now . if your luckly this can be found on ebay . so thats why i cant say yes to recommend to a friend sorry . the main part off this drive is it play

  I have a problem where the draws on these drives will not open when mounted vertically.
  
  They seam to work fine when mounted horizonatlly though.

  I have been using the LG GDR-8163B DVD drive for over 2 years now, and it has not given me an ounce of trouble.
  
  I highly recommend it, especially if it is used in conjunction with LG GSA-4163B Super
