    Item: Epson Perfection 1260
Generally it works well, giving reasonable results, but it is slow and noisy. The slide scanner is fiddley to use. I would not recommend it for the price.

    Item: Pacific Image Electronics PF1800
Initially I found the Pacific Image Electronics PF1800 hard to use and get used to but once I got the hang of it, it was great, especially the auto scan on strips of film.

    Item: XEROX 4800 One Touch
I would expect a company like Xerox to keep there drivers up to date and make them freely available online. They don't seem to as far as I am aware.

    Item: Umax Astra 1200s
I love this scanner, but I could not get it to work on my MSI Neo2 Platinum motherboard and AMD64 CPU based system. I tried too different PCI scsi cards and it won't work. Nevermind drivers, the PC itself
