The Epson Perfection 4490 gives good results for slides and 35mm negatives. It's slow than I expected but very easy to use.

The Minolta Dimage Scan Dual III is my first film scanner. I would recommend it to anyone except those with windows 98 and USB 1, because with this setup I could not get it working.

Compared to Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II the Scan Dual III has no Firewire connection and no Digital ICE. Instead Minolta's own Auto Dust Brush & Pixel Polish is included and USB2 replaces the FireWire connect
