Item: Sony KP-51HW40
We bought the TV in 2002. It is now 2008. It has had light rainbow lines in it for over a year now. It now shuts itself off. I am told the tubes need to be replaced but that they are no longer manufactured.

Sony Grand WEGA KF-42SX300 is an excellent tv bought mine about 4 years ago and never had a days trouble. very high quality picture and the sound is outstanding. Go buy one.

Never buy a rear projection TV - When the bulb blows in your TV (18 months later) it is not covered by any warranty. It costs £400 for the price of bulb replacement. You can buy the bulb separately,
