    Hotpoint CTD40P Tumble Dryer

    Absolute rubbish - First one I had broke down continuously after 11 visits from engineer they eventually replaced it but only after a great deal of shouting on my behalf

    Just got this "dead" Whirlpool AWZ481E hardly used european 240v dryer off ebay for £100, HAHA fello ebayers - it was a simple fix, opened up the panels, rear and top, and in the wiring bundle which goes

    Very poor quality build, made a scraping noise whilst drying, the machine lasted less than 12 months. AVOID HOTPOINT CHEAP AND NASTY

    Our machine just broke down today after 2 and a half years trouble free drying. Must be lucky :-0 just the thermostat thing thats gone so cheep to sort :-)

    Has needed attention and broken down twice now - first time 2007 because drum scaped against the housing - design fault according to engineer; ensure plenty of space at rear of machine (as if!). Fixed that but

    this tumble dryer is absolute rubbish.broke down three times in a year same thing each time.heater element. Ive had to buy a new one after just 14 months they are total rubbish. leave them alone

    On reading various reports on this machine i would never have bought this model as it seems prone to faults especially cut-out faults.

    I have a 4 year old CTD40 which has only JUST recently been giving trouble. Its actually NOT a particularly bad machine if looked after, however if abused it will give trouble like anything else. Fluff filter s
