Item: Pioneer VSX-916-K
The Pioneer VSX-916-K has lots of detailed configuration available although it lacks punch especially with centre sound. Overall, good value for money but certainly not for audioholics

I've had mine for 6 years now. I don't have a single urge to 'move up'. What's the point when you have something that does the job and does it well like the Yamaha RX-V795aRDS.

Item: Pioneer VSX-817
I think the Pioneer VSX-817 has lots of power. Can get a bit hot though, and no HDMI inputs outputs and HD audio. Overall, it is very powerful and sounds great.

The Yamaha RX-V1700 is an excellent system. All it needs is to come with all the speakers. Has a serious subwoofer available and recommended.
