Cash ISAs, or Individual Savings Accounts, are a pefect way of saving money. Rather than simply save their money in a bank account, ISAs allow consumers to invest their money. ISAs also have very favourable tax rates, which can be attractive to those wishing to keep a "nest egg" for the future.

ISAs replaced PEPs and TESSAs as the favoured way of investing money at a low tax rate. Although there are limits on the amount of money the account holder can invest in any given tax year, their low tax rate can still make them an attractive way to invest.

Mini Cash ISAs and Maxi Cash ISAs now fall under the term Cash ISA, but investment ISAs, such as the increasingly popular Stocks and Shares ISAs, are an alternative to cash-only ISAs.

Appalling interest rates - £30000+ = 0.3%
Links on website to an alternative fixed rate postal isa which gives 3.5% interest are not working - surprise. I have reported this 3 times to no avail!

Egg disappointingly will not allow the over 50 ' s Top up their Cash ISA intil April 2010 .

This is a Commercial Decision taken by them without any regard for their Customers .

I have been with First Direct from the time they started as a telephone bank in Late 80's and were owned by Clydesdale Bank.
They have excellent Customer service. Now part of HSBC I have general accounts,

Seriously, not worth the hastle. Even if the interest rate was 5%

Utterly inept operating procedures and terrible customer services.

I've watched the interest on my Natwest Mini isa dropping consistently every month. I've placed at least £400 per month in and it's currently got about 9.5K in there... getting £4.20 return pm. Rubb

When asking what interest rate my Isa had been reduced to, I was sent illiterate and illogical replies.

It's July. Been trying since April to transfer into Natwest e-ISA account after being suckered by their ads. Still waiting. On top of that the transfer is from RBS ! Service is dreadful. By comparison my wife
