But do you know how to use Twitter? What do you use it for?


The official line is "Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. People write short updates (often called "tweets") of 140 characters or fewer. These messages are posted to your profile or your blog, sent to your followers, and are searchable on Twitter search."


Twitter is a way of connecting people who share an interest. That interest can by anything! A news item, a photo, a pastime, a problem, an experience, the list goes on. The key here is that it's shared. So what is Twitter? The truth is that Twitter can be almost whatever you want it to be.
