Launched in 2001 the Nikon Coolpix 885 was perceived by many as the best overall 3-megapixel digital camera in its price bracket.
Many of our reviewers reported great picture quality, ease of use, and while not tiny, basically a good ergonomical carry anywhere camera with a decent level of manual features. The Nikon Coolpix 885 impressed media reviewers too with its variety of controls offered at a new low price making it seem like a great digital camera buy.
Although a number of Review Centre reviewers reported a recurrent system error Nikon soon relaunched the camera with revamped software which appeared to cure the issue.
Three years after buying it one Review Centre reviewer says nothing has gone wrong with this camera and it continues taking great pictures. Also see reviews of other Nikon Coolpix cameras such as the Nikon Coolpix 775
