Pentax Optio S55

This entry-level digital compact camera features a stylish metal body which is intended to take a few knocks, making it ideal as a carry anywhere point and shoot.

The Pentax Optio S55 also features a large, easy-to-view 2.5 inch LCD monitor, a 3X zoom, 5.0 effective megapixels and 12 picture modes. It is intended for a first time digital camera user or someone who just wants the minimum of fuss.

Most digital camera experts agree this camera is very stylish, compact and durable with an excellent monitor screen and high resolution capacity plus a reasonable lens all of which ensures good quality pictures for average use.

Several reviewers have commented on sluggish shot-to-shot and continuous shooting and average video film quality performance.

The Optio S55 will clearly not compete with higher spec cameras in terms of versatility and extra features but it is definitely a good buy in the simple point and shoot range.
