Verdict of Nikon Coolpix 775

Nikon Coolpix 775 – Editor’s Summary. On this page you will find information about the mini Nikon Coolpix 775 digital camera including performance features and controls plus sales and brand background information. The Review Centre editor also summarises and includes examples of independent consumer and media reviews. Written September 2005.

The Big Picture

The tiny Nikon Coolpix 775 is an ultra portable point-and-shoot photograph snapper for life on the go.

Launched in 2001, it featured a button on the back of its cigarette carton sized body allowing transfers of digital shots by one click to a website or PC hard drive via the included cable.

Coolpix 775 was the first camera with a one-click upload.

The 775 is made for one hand shooting and is designed to fit comfortably in the palm - the camera lets the index finger rest above the shutter button and leaves your thumb to control zoom and menu features.

Many of our reviewers are in love with it although a number have highlighted slow reaction times and software malfunctions.

Review Centre Opinions

"This is my first digital (I also have a Canon SLR) and I have been pleasantly surprise by the quality of the photos, both on a PC screen and when developed onto photopaper. Unfortunately the cameras worst point is incredibly frustrating: it is very slow."

"The Nikon Coolpix 775 is a nice camera for its price, I took about 3000 pictures with it, and I am still satisfied."

"I do not like the very slow reaction time, especially at low light levels, and the battery save feature. The camera is always OFF when I want to take the next shot. However, well worth the money."

Coolpix rides into the sunset

Nikon has this month announced its latest Coolpix compact digital camera range - in the company of Coolpix line.

The Coolpix P1, P2, S3, S4 and L1 digicams cover a wide range of budgets but share various common features, namely Nikons "D-Lighting" function which assesses captured images and automatically compensates for underexposure for whatever reason.
