Verdict of HTC Magic
The HTC Magic has been hyped up across the internet as the next big touch screen phone and has been touted as a potential iPhone 3G S killer. Now that it's out, has it managed to topple Apple's Crowned Prince of mobile phones? Well thankfully for iPhone fans across the world, it seems the answer is no, but it is still far too soon to wipe the sweat off their brow.
Most people seem in agreement that this is an absolutely amazing phone that will blow all but one of the competition out of the water. CNet tell us that 'the Magic is the second-best smart phone we've ever used' and Mobile choice have prophesised that the future of the Android operating system is going to be a rosy one. It is a vast improvement on the original Google phone, the HTC G1, in style and has ironed out many of problems by being much faster, having dedicated search keys and a tweaked user interface.
Trusted Reviews inform us that it still has an 'iffy accelerometer' and the camera is nothing great, but as the iPhone has a dire camera it still comes up trumps. Also it suffers from not having multi-touch support, but android will support this and the Android Marketplace is filled with thousands of apps for the phone. Also important to note is that the HTC Magic is exclusive to Vodafone, so will be in direct competition with o2 and their iPhone. Overall, it seems that this mobile phone isn't quite an iPhone killer, but for all those out there who pick one up they will be very, very happy to flash this mobile out to their friends.
