I would like to update a review I wrote a few weeks ago. I am pleased to confirm that Direct Line did pay out in full, after waiting around 8-9 weeks from submitting my paperwork. The animal hospital also arranged a direct claim (which I had to pay £30.00 plus £9.00 for every claim which was on going & related to the same claim. This company will take money and will do anything to get away without paying. If you have a claim with this company you MUST keep at it and complain to the Ombudsman. They will try to wear you down and make you submit. Keep all correspondence and write to Watchdog (the more the better) This company need to be exposed. Your deal is good but last year I was not explained that option on monthly payment attracted extra payment of interest. I lost out on other providers better offers. This year I had lot of competitive offers and one of payment has made bit of difference to my budget. This year despite being your paid up customer I was asked on telephone my personal details which was not necessary. There was no change in my personal details. I like the fact that it is just as quick to organise holiday insurance over the phone as it is to go online - some things require discussion with an advisor. Charging for posting out of policy documents seems a little unreasonable though, I only have internet access at work and on my mobile so am unable to print out documents for perusal. The advisers are generally friendly, although some did not know whether Egypt should be classed as 'European' or 'American' cover... I would use Atlas... (read more)
